1. After each use, rinse the jug thoroughly with warm
water, not hot.
2. Place one to two drops of dishwashing liquid into
your jug and fill it halfway with warm water.
3. Secure the lid with the lid plug in the locked position.
4. Start the machine on Min speed, slowly increase to
Max with the Speed control knob.
5. Run for about one minute.
6. Empty the jug out and rinse thoroughly.
7. Turn the jug upside down and let it air dry.
8. For a deep clean, perform the following steps
monthly or as needed: Place 4 cups of cool water
and 4 cups of white vinegar into the container and
let it soak for about four hours. Pour contents out
and rinse thoroughly. Then follow the appropriate
cleaning instructions above.
Cleaning Your Saluté
The Saluté cut out while I was processing
Possible Cause 1:
The machine has probably overheated and cut out. Your Saluté is engineered with an automatic thermal
overload protection mechanism to prevent the motor from burning out.
Reasons for overheating:
1. Processing heavy materials for too long.
2. Processing heavy materials on too slow a speed.
3. Processing too much heavy material that does not contain liquid.
Solution:
1. Press the reset switch at the rear of the machine.
2. Leave the machine off for 10 – 30 minutes to cool down. (The cool down period is dependent on the
ambient temperature). If the machine is still not working, check Possible Cause 2.
Possible Cause 2:
Please check the obvious options such as faulty plug connections. If the machine is not working, contact
customer care.
I damaged the tamper/blade
1. I put the tamper into the jug with the lid off and it hit the blade
2. I used another utensil instead of the pusher and it hit the blade. The blade stopped turning / the tamper
is damaged
Solution:
The drive socket (the mushroom-looking thing that sits in the middle of the black rubber mat on the base) has
been damaged. This is a safety mechanism to stop the blades from causing further damage.
Order a new drive socket from www.healthmakers.co.za/store This is a DIY repair with tools and instructions.
If the blade is damaged then a complete blade-set needs to be replaced.

Troubleshooting
SAFETY WARNING
To ensure safety unplug the power cord before cleaning the base. Never immerse the motor
base in water and never clean the blade assembly with your bare hands

Preparation Time: 1½Minutes
Quantity: + 750ml (3 cups)
Ingredients:
1 Orange (skin removed) or 1 cup of Grapes
½Pineapple or 1½cups fresh Strawberries or
Kiwi fruit
(optional or when in season)
1 Apple
1 Pear
1 (peeled) Banana
Honey or other sweetener (optional)
Seeds and nuts (optional)
1 tray large ice cubes (or two trays of small
cubes)
Method:
Place ingredients in the Saluté container in the given
order and secure the two part lid. Press the 90 second
‘button’ to run for 1½minutes, until smooth. Serve
immediately.
To convert this to a green smoothie add kale/spinach or
any other green leaves and some Spirulina or other
green powder.
Troubleshooting:
If the mixture is too thick - add some cold water. If
the mixture is too icy, continue processing until
desired consistency is obtained.
General Tips for making whole fruit smoothies
The most successful smoothies are made with a
selection of juicy and pulpy fruits (Eg. apples are
pulpy) and too much apple makes a smoothie very
pulpy. The addition of too much water or ice will
reduce the flavour.

VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY TIPS WHEN WORKING WITH HOT LIQUIDS
•If you turn the Saluté on Max speed with the container more than ½full, the pressure created by the
combination of the hot liquid and the speed of the blades can force the lid off, causing the hot liquid to spill
out, creating a mess and the possibility of accidental burning.
•TO AVOID THIS HAZARD. Ensure that the jug contains no more than 3 cups of hot liquid to start. Process
on Min speed and increase the speed to Max. While the blender is running you can add more hot liquid
through the rubber lid by removing the lid plug.
•Always use the Saluté on a flat, level dry surface and the base should be placed at least 8-10 cm from the
edge of the counter.
•Always ensure that the container is properly seated in position and that the rubber lid and lid plug are
properly fitted and secured before switching the Saluté on.
•If you are processing a large quantity of liquid it is advisable to hold one hand over the lid when switching
on, just in case the lid is not properly secured.
•Never remove the jug while the motor is running.
•Always have the rubber lid on when using the tamper and if you remove the lid in-between processing
remember to replace it before using the tamper.
•Always put some water into the jug when crushing ice cubes. Pour the crushed cubes through a colander.
•Take note that the Saluté is a high speed blender, therefore the processing time is drastically reduced when
compared to a standard blender.
•If you require a burst of Max power press the Pulse switch. (The Pulse switch only operates while being
held down manually)
•If you accidentally damage the tamper it is recommended that it be replaced as a damaged tamper can
harbour bacteria and become a health hazard.
Operational Tips
Remove the Blade-Set for cleaning or replacement
1.Turn container upside down
2.Place the supplied wrench into the retainer nut and when
it is snugly fitted, turn the wrench counter-clockwise,
while holding the jug down firmly.
3.Once the retainer nut is loosened, cover the blade
inside the jug with a cloth (to avoid cutting yourself
when removing the blade).
4.With one hand hold the blade-set and with the
other remove the retainer nut by hand.
To Replace the Blade-Set
1.Put the blade-set through the hole in the bottom of
the jug from the inside of the jug, having first covered it
with a cloth. Place the retainer nut onto the thread of the
Blade-Set underneath the jug and tighten the retainer nut
by hand.
2. Turn clockwise until tight.
3. Fit the wrench to the retainer nut and tighten.
NB Do not over tighten the retainer nut as this can cause the jug to crack
Troubleshooting Smoothie Making
If the mixture stops circulating you have an air lock.
Open the lid and push the mixture down with the tamper. Replace the lid and press the High button and use
the tamper to push the mixture into the blades until it starts to circulate.

My Saluté

Making Frozen treats with your Saluté
To make ice cream with your Saluté Superior Super Blender you will need four basic ingredients:
Liquid : Cream, Milk, Yoghurt or Fruit juice
Flavourings : Fruit concentrate, Vanilla, Nuts, Pineapple, etc.
Sweeteners : Sugar, Honey, Fructose, Agave, Stevia
Frozen Ingredients : Ice cubes, Frozen Fruits, Frozen Yoghurt, Milk or Cream.
Frozen desserts are made in the Saluté by homogenizing liquid and frozen ingredients together to make a
delicious ice cream or sorbet. This is achieved by using the high speed of the Saluté along with the tamper.
The Ratio to make Frozen Desserts
The normal ratio is: 1 part liquid and 3 to 4 parts frozen ingredients.
Once the mixture starts to circulate the sound of the machine will change. Do not process for more than 3
seconds with this sound. Running the Saluté for longer does not cause the dessert to freeze more - rather it
causes it to melt.
I Got Milkshake Instead Of Ice Cream:
There can only be 3 problems and the solution is to add more frozen ingredients a small amount at a time.
i) Too much liquid.
ii) The frozen ingredients were insufficient to produce freezing temperatures.
iii) Running the machine for too long.
NB. If the frozen ingredient is ice (water) the flavour will be diluted.
Strawberry Yoghurt Ice Cream
Preparation Time: 30 sec Quantity: 750 ml (3 cups)
Ingredients:
1 Cup (250 ml) Yoghurt (plain, vanilla or strawberry)
3 Cups (750 ml) whole frozen Strawberries
1 Tablespoon (15 ml) Honey or other sweetener, to taste
(optional)
Method:
Place all ingredients into the Saluté container - yoghurt
first - and secure the two part lid.
Process on Max.
Push the ingredients down with the tamper through the
lid.
Ideally the mixture will begin to circulate and the sound of the
machine will change.
Do not process for more than 3 seconds with this sound.
Serve immediately. Decorate with fresh Strawberries (optional)
Preparation time: 5 seconds
Quantity: 500 ml (2 cups)
Ingredients:
3 Fresh tomatoes – quartered
¼to ½of a medium red onion – quartered
Green chillies – to taste (optional)
¼teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon vinegar (optional)
½teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon olive oil
½green pepper (small)
½red pepper (small)
Fresh dhania (coriander leaves), parsley or rocket to taste
Method:
Place all ingredients in the Saluté container. Secure the two-part lid. Select a medium speed. Run the
Saluté for 3 to 5 seconds or until the ingredients are chopped to desired consistency. If necessary, insert the
tamper through the open lid to push the ingredients into the blades. Over-processing will create liquid. Serve
with fresh crackers or dehydrated chips.
Tomato Salsa
Preparation time: 1 minute Quantity: 1 ½cups Household use only
Ingredients:
Maximum 2 ½cups and minimum of 1 ½cups of almonds,
cashews, macadamia or pecan nuts OR a mix of nuts .
Macadamia nuts helps the process as they are oily.
Method:
Pour nuts into the Saluté container and secure two-part
lid. Process on a medium speed. Insert tamper through
lid opening. There must be sufficient nuts for the tamper
to be in contact with the nuts. Use the tamper to push
the nuts into the blades. In about 15 to 30 seconds you
will hear a high pitch chugging sound. The butter begins
to flow freely through the blades and the motor sound
will change from a high pitch to a low labouring sounds.
STOP PROCESSING AFTER 3 SECONDS. Store the nut
butter in the fridge.
Nut Butters
CAUTION: Over-processing will cause the Salute to overheat and cut out!

Flax Seed (Highly effective, high in Omega 3 EFA)
Add the powder to any cold food, e.g. cereal, yoghurt, etc) (Adding flax to hot food will destroy the value of
the Omega 3 oil)
Using the flax Seed as a laxative
2 Tablespoons flax powder to 1 cup water or juice. Wait 30 minutes or until liquid has soaked up, and eat with
a teaspoon.
Dry Food Applications
Coffee Beans
Grind your own coffee beans on “Min” speed for 7 to 25 seconds, depending
on the required fineness, e.g. 7 to 8 seconds for very coarse and about 20
seconds for espresso.
1. Make sure the ON/OFF switch is OFF.
2. Plug the power cable into the power socket and switch the power on.
3. Place the ingredients into the jug.
4. Place the jug onto the motor base. (The Saluté will not operate without the jug in place)
5. Set the speed control knob to the desired speed. (Min = 12000 rpm Max = 26000 rpm)
6. Switch the ON/OFF switch to the ON position to start processing.
7. Using the Tamper. (Never use the tamper without the rubber lid in place)
7.1. The tamper is used to aid in the processing of materials where minimal liquid has been used.
7.2. The tamper is designed not to touch the blades when the lid is in place
7.3. To use the tamper remove the lid plug and place the tamper through the hole in the rubber lid.
7.4. When using the tamper hold the handle of the jug, to stabilise the jug while pushing the materials
down onto the blades.
7.5. As soon as the materials begin to process on their own, remove the tamper and replace the lid plug.
N.B. Do not leave the tamper in the jug as this creates excessive pressure on the motor and can
cause the motor to cut out.
8. Speed Control Options:
8.1. To increase or decrease the speed while processing, either turn the speed control knob clockwise to
increase or counter-clockwise to decrease.
8.2. There is an additional facility to increase the speed to maximum on a pulse basis by holding the
PULSE switch down. When you release the Pulse switch, the speed will revert to the speed as set
by the speed control knob.
9. Processing Operation Options
9.1. While processing, additional materials may be added through the rubber lid hole after removing the
lid plug.
9.2. To add bulkier materials the machine should be switched off and the two-part lid removed.
10. When processing is complete, switch the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position.
Getting Started
The Saluté can be used to grind dry materials such as: grains to flour, dry spices, dry herbs, coffee beans,
seeds to meal, bread to breadcrumbs and nuts to nut butter.
Important information about grinding dry materials.
Dry materials contain very little liquid and are subject to rapid heating so dry grinding should never exceed 90
seconds.
For rapid grinding at high speed the Pulse switch could be used.
Preparation Time: 2 minutes
Quantity: 750 ml (3 cups)
Ingredients:
1 cup (250 ml) raw Almonds (soaked for 6 - 8
Hours)
3 cups (750 ml) cold water or ice + water
Honey or dates to taste (Optional)
Method:
Place all ingredients in the Saluté container in the
listed order, secure the two part lid. Process at Max
for 2 minutes.
Strain the milk through a nutmilk bag and add your choice of
flavour E.g. pure vanilla or berries, and (optional) a
sweetener E.g. Honey, Stevia, Agave to taste.
This recipe can be used to make milks from any nut or seed E.g. almond, hemp, brown rice, oat, hazelnut,
walnut, cashew, sesame, sunflower, brazil nut, pecan, poppy seed, or flax seed.
Almond Milk
Preparation Time: 1 Minute Quantity: 375ml (1½cups)
Ingredients:
1 Tin Chickpeas, drained (or 400 g freshly cooked
Chickpeas or 400g raw sprouted Chickpeas)
½Cup Tahini (Sesame seed paste or ½cup white
sesame seed)
1 Tablespoon Olive oil
¼Cup Lemon juice
1 Clove Garlic
Salt to taste
Method:
Place all ingredients in the Saluté container and
secure two part lid. Process on Max speed for 1
minute or until smooth, using the tamper to push the
ingredients into the blades while processing. If the mixture
does not process freely, add a little water until mixture flows
freely through the blades.
NOTE :The above quantity should not be exceeded for each processing. An excess quantity of heavy
material such as hummus will cause the Saluté to overheat and cut out.
