This flash is specifically designed for the SAMSUNG NX and EX series cameras and is
compatible with the SAMSUNG accessory shoe. (Check model compatibility first before
use.)
The device is not compatible with the SAMSUNG GX-series digital cameras or other
35 mm film cameras.
Check the operating status
of
the flash
in
advance before avacation or an important
event.

Flash storage and maintenance
•Do not use organic solvents such as thinner, alcohol, or benzene to remove stains.
•Avoid using the flash
in
high temperature
or
humidity. Do not leave the device
in
your
car,
as the
temperature can rise dramatically when left inside.
•Protect the device from severe vibrations, shocks, or pressures and use acushion when transported
by motorcycle,
car,
or ship.
•Do not use the device where it can come into contact directly with rain.
•Do not use old batteries with new ones.
•The flash may not operate properly if separated from the camera, as metals do not touch shoe
terminals.
•Do not use accessories such as
an
accessory shoe clip that have the different number
of
terminals,
as some functions may not operate properly.
•The device may not operate properly if used with non-Samsung cameras. Samsung
is
not
responsible for any accidents or device damage when used this way.
•Check the device regularly every 1
or
2years, and when you have not used it for along period
of
time, or before shooting of an important event for best performance.
•Protect the flash from dust, dirt, sand, water, toxic gas, and salt, as they can cause damage to
internal components.
•Take shooting after adjusting the flash intensity to capture black or white subjects.

Cautions when using the battery
•This flash requires using 2
AAA
Ni-MH
or
2
AAA
alkaline batteries. Do not use any other batteries, as
this
may
cause malfunction, poor performance,
or
overheating
of
the battery.

•Using manganese dry cell batteries
is
not recommended, as the batteries are not available to capture l£.

•Remove batteries from the device when not
in
use for along period
of
time. The inside
of
the flash
can be damaged by battery fluid.
•Battery performance may deteriorate and charging may take longer when you use the device
in
cold
temperatures. When using the device in cold temperatures, keep aspare set
of
batteries warm to
alternate with your primary batteries.
•Do not disassemble
or
attempt to charge disposable batteries, as this may cause rupture or leakage
of
the battery.
•Do not mix the batteries from different manufacturers or
of
different type or capacity when replacing
them.
•Insert the batteries properly according to +/- polarity; otherwise, it may cause battery fire or rupture.

Insert
the
battery
•If
you
cannot power
on
the
flash after inserting
the
batteries,
make
sure
that
you
have
inserted
the
batteries
correctly.
•
Use
batteries with
the
same
capacity
and
made
by the
same
manufacturer. Mixing battery
types will decrease lifespan
and
could
damage the device or cause
injury.

Use the flash
•The flash is automatically powered down after not
in
use for along period
of
time.
•Turn offthe flash when not in use to maximize battery and device lifespan.
•Maximum shutter speed
of
the synchronizable flash is 1/180 seconds. Ifthe shutter speed
is set shorterthan this, it will be automatically adjusted to
1/180
seconds.
•When you separate the external flash from the camera, unfasten the accessory shoe
fastening dial and remove it slowly. Be careful not to apply excessive force to avoid
damaging the upper part
of
the camera.
Connect the flash
1Remove the accessory shoe cover from the camera.

2Connect the flash by sliding it into the accessory shoe.
3Lock the flash into place by turning the accessory shoe
fastening dial clockwise towards LOCK.
4Press the power button on the flash.

Use the flash
Use A-TTL
mode
In
the A-TTL (Advanced Through The Lens) mode, an appropriate level
of
the flash is
automatically calculated based on the exposure value and shutter speed set on the
camera by measuring the light entering through the lens.
1Connect the flash.
2Power on the flash.
•Flash burst mode
is
set to
A-TIL
mode (Green lamp). If not, press [Mode] button and set
the mode to
A-TIL
mode (Green lamp).
3Begin shooting after ensuring the flash is fully charged.
•When charging
is
complete, the Ready lamp will turn orange.

Use Manual mode
You
can emit flash light at maximum power while shooting by manually setting the ISO
and aperture values on the camera.
1Connect the flash.
2Power on the flash.
3Press
[Mode]
button to switch to Manual mode (Red lamp).
4Set the ISO and aperture values.
5Begin shooting after ensuring the flash is fully charged.
•When charging is complete, the Ready lamp will turn orange.
