Using the Camera
Installing
the
SIM
card
and
battery
Insert
the
SIM
card
provided
by
the
mobile
telephone
service
provider,
and
the
included
battery.
1.
Slide
the
latch
and
open
the
flap.
2.
Insert
the
SIM
card
with
the
gold-colored
contacts
facing
upwards.
3.
Push
the
SIM
card
into
the
slot
until
it
locks
in
place.

4.
Insert
the
battery.
5.
Replace
the
flap
and
slide
the
latch.

Attaching and removing a lens
Before attaching a lens, remove the lens cap, lens mount
cover and body cap.

To attach the lens, align the red mark on the lens with the
red mark on the device. Then, rotate the lens as shown in
the illustration until it locks into place.

To
remove
the
lens,
tum
off
the
device,
press
and
hold
the
lens
release
button,
and
then
rotate
the
lens
as
shown
in
the
illustration.

Turning
the
device
on
and
off
When
turning
on
the
device
for
the
first
time,
follow
the
on-screen
instructions
to
set
up
your
device.
Press
and
hold
the
Power
button
for
a
few
seconds
to
turn
the
device
on
and
off.
NOTE:
After
removing
the
lens
from
the
device
,
attach
the
lens
cap
and
lens
mount
cover
to
protect
the
lens
surface
and
electrical
contacts
from
scratches.

Charging
the
battery
Before
using
the
device
for
the
first
time
or
when
the
battery
has
been
unused
for
extended
periods,
you
must
charge
the
battery.
Connect
the
USB
cable
to
the
USB
power
adaptor
and
then
plug
the
end
of
the
USB
cable
into
the
multipurpose
jack.

Initial device configuration
1. Select a language and tap Next or tap
Accessibility if you are visually impaired or hard
of hearing.
2. Set Date and Time and tap Next.
3. Tap an Operation mode.
4. Tap the ON/OFF slider to activate Wi-Fi and tap
Next.
5. Understand and agree to the terms and conditions
of the EULA and tap Next.
6. At the Samsung account screen, select Create
new account, Sign in or tap Skip.
7. At the Got Google? screen, select Yes to log into
Google™ account or No to continue.
8. At the Make it Google screen, select either Get
an account or Not now to continue.
9. Select Google and your location services and
tap Next.
1 0. Enter a First and Last name and tap Next.
11. At the Dropbox screen, select Create account,
Sign in, Disclaimer or tap Skip.
12. At the Learn about key features screen, tap the
ON/OFF slider to activate feature and tap Next.
13. Accept or rename the current device and tap
Finish.

Launching and closing Camera
To tum on the camera, open the camera application.
Alternatively, press the Shutter button or the Video
recording button.
To tum off the camera and return to the Home screen, tap
Ct.
Taking and viewing photos
Half -press the Shutter button to focus on the subject.
When the subject is in focus, the focus frame turns green.
Press the Shutter putton to take the photo.
Or, tap the image on the preview screen where the camera
should focus. When the subject is in focus, the focus frame
turns green. Tap • to take the photo.

To
view
taken
photos,
tap
the
gallery
icon.
Using
i-Function
In
expert
mode,
you
can
use
the
i-Function
button
to
adjust
the
shutter
speed,
aperture
value,
expos~re
value
or
ISO
sensitivity.
Available
options
may
differ
depending
on
the
shooting
mode.
Press
the
i-Function
button
on
the
lens
repeatedly
to
select
an
option,
and
then
rotate
the
focus
ring
on
the
lens
or
the
Command
dial
on
the
device
to
adjust
the
value.

Downloading
Apps
1.
From
the
Home
screen,
tap
Apps
~
~.
(Play
Store).
2.
You
can
shop
and
search
for
Apps,
Games,
Movies
&
TV,
Music,
Books
and
Magazines.
3.
Select
the
desired
category
and
make
your
selection.
4.
Follow
the
prompts
to
download.
IMPORTANT:
Google
Playn·~,
Google
PlusTM'
Google
Plus™
Messenger,
Google
SearchTM,
Google
MapsTM,
You
Tube™
and
Hangout™
require
a
Google
email
account.
Adding
apps
and
widgets
1.
Tap
and
hold
the
Home
screen
to
display
the
Home
screen
menu.
2.
Tap
Apps
and
widgets
and
tap
the
Apps
or
Widget
tab.
3.
Touch
and
hold
the
app
or
widget
to
move
it
to
the
Home
screen.
NOTE:
To
remove
a
widget
from
a
Home
screen,
tap
and
hold
the
widget
and
drag
it
to
the top
trash
can
icon
to
remove.

Changing
wallpaper
1.
Tap
and
hold
the
Home
screen
to
display
the
Home
screen
menu.
2.
Tap
Set
wallpaper.
3.
Tap
Home
screen,
Lock
screen
or
Home
and
lock
screens.
Sounds
1.
From
the
Home
screen,
tap

Tap
the
feature
you

Volume
•
To
set
the
ringtone
volume,
from
the
Home
screen
press
the
tum

Setting up Email
Check email on the go with popular lntemet-based email
accounts, including Yahoo!® Mail, Hotmail®, etc ..
1. From the Home screen tap Apps --+ Email "f!!f/ .
2. Enter your email address, password and tap Next.
3. Select account type (POP3 account, I MAP account or
Microsoft Exchange Activesync) and follow the prompts
to complete.
Adding new accounts
1. From the Home screen tap Apps -+ Settings 0 .
2. Tap the Accounts tab--+ Add account.
3. Select account type and follow the prompts to
complete.
Setting Up Your Gmail Account
The first time you launch Gmail, your device will prompt
you to set up an account.
1. From the Home screen, touch 1111 (Apps) -+ •
(Gmail).
2. Follow the prompts to sign in, or create a new account.
NOTE: If your Gmail account was configured during initial device
configuration and you would like to add an additional
~
account, tap · !r! ; (Gmail) -+ 1=1 (Menu) -+Settings
-+ ADD ACCOUNT.
