Precautions When Using the Still Image
• Digital Ready TV: When you select
the regular screen (4:3) mode to
watch an SD-grade digital
broadcast (and the set-top box
output is 480p).
Although digital broadcasting must be in
the wide screen (16:9) HD format,
broadcasters sometimes show programs
made originally in the regular screen
format (4:3) by converting the signals into
digital form, in which case the left and
right side edges of the screen are
cropped.
Do not leave the screen in pause mode
for extended periods of time as you may
experience the same problem with
products by other manufacturers.
Note : If the borders at the left, right and
the center of the screen remain
fixed for an extended period of time,
the amounts of light transmission
will also remain varied and as a
result the borders may leave traces.
• Digital Ready TV: When you select
the wide screen (16:9) mode to
watch an SD-grade digital
broadcast (and the set-top box
output is 1080i).
• Digital Ready TV: When the
TV receives HD-grade signals
(and the set-top box output is 1080i).
When you watch a digital HD-grade
broadcast on a regular (4:3) TV with the
screen size “16:9” or “Panorama” selected,
you will be able to watch the program but
the top and bottom edges of the screen will
be cropped.
Do not leave the screen in pause mode
for extended periods of time as you may
experience the same problem with
products by other manufacturers.
Note : If the borders at the top, bottom
and the center of the screen remain
fixed for an extended period of time,
the amounts of light transmission
will also remain varied and as a
result the borders may leave traces.
The still image may cause permanent damage to the TV screen.

regular (4:3) or wide (21:9) screen mode,
the left and right side edges, or the top
and bottom edges of the screen will be
cropped.

You must insert or replace the batteries in the remote control when
you:
◆Purchase the television.
◆Find that the remote control is no longer operating
correctly.
1Remove the cover on the rear of the remote control by pressing
the symbol ( ) downwards , then pulling firmly to remove it.
2Insert two R03, UM4, “AAA” 1.5V or equivalent batteries taking
care to respect the polarities:
◆ - on the battery against - on the remote control
◆ + on the battery against + on the remote control
3Replace the cover by aligning it with the base of the remote
control and pressing it back into place.
➢Do not mix battery types, i.e. alkaline and manganese.

◆ The wall attachment panel is sold separately.
◆ Do not install the product in any location other than a vertical wall.
◆ To protect the performance of your product and prevent problems, avoid the following locations:
- Any place vulnerable to vibration or impact: The product may come off and break.
- Near smoke and fire detectors: The sprinkler may be activated upon detecting heat from the product.
- Near high voltage: The reception for your product may be interrupted.
- Near heat sources: The product may get overheated.
How to Adjust Mounting Angle
1Attach the TV to the wall bracket.
(Follow the instructions below.)
2Pull the upper part of the TV (which has been
attached to the bracket) forward in the
direction of the arrow and adjust the angle.
3You can adjust the angle to your liking
between 0-15˚. (±2˚)
The wall mount bracket is delivered
separately. Please tighten the captive
screw in the direction of the arrow after
assembling the bracket.

1Remove the 6 screws from the back of the TV.
3Assemble the plastic screw anchors and the
screws.
5Put the four holders on the back of the TV into the holes on the wall bracket !, lower the TV @and hang
the TV on the bracket. Fasten the TV securely to the wall bracket with stick screws as shown in #so that
the two will not separate.
2Separate the stand from the TV.
4Tighten the screw assemblies (as shown in
Picture 3) to the back of the TV.

Using the Anti-Theft Lock
The kensington lock is a device used to physically secure the TV when using it in a public place.
◆The TV is designed to use the anti-theft lock.
◆The lock device is used to secure the TV when it is used in a public place.
◆The appearance and locking method may differ depending on the manufacturer. Please refer to
the owner’s instructions provided with the lock for proper use.

1Insert the locking device into the kensington slot on the TV (Fig. 1), and turn it in the
locking direction (Fig. 2).
2Connect the kensington lock cable.
3Secure the kensington lock to a desk or a heavy stationary object.

Connecting a Satellite Receiver or Decoder
In order to watch television programmes broadcast via a
satellite network, you must connect a satellite receiver to
the back of the TV. Also, in order to descramble a coded
transmission signal, you must connect a decoder to the
back of the TV.
◆Using a SCART cable
Connect the receiver (or decoder) SCART cable to one
of the SCART connectors at the back of the television.
◆Using a coaxial cable
Connect a coaxial cable to the:
- Receiver (or Decoder) output socket.
- Television aerial input socket.
➢If you wish to connect both a satellite receiver
(or decoder) and a VCR, you should connect the:
◆Receiver (or Decoder) to the VCR
◆VCR to the television
Otherwise, connect the receiver (or decoder) directly
to the television.

To view television channels correctly, a signal must be received by
the set from one of the following sources:
◆An outdoor aerial
◆A cable television network
◆A satellite network
1In the first three cases, connect the aerial or network input cable to
the 75Ωcoaxial socket at the back of the television.
2If you are using an indoor aerial, you may need to adjust it when
tuning your television until you obtain a picture that is both sharp
and clear.

Switching Your Television On and Off
TV
The mains lead is attached to the back of your television.
1Plug the mains lead into an appropriate socket.
➢
The main voltage is indicated on the back of the television
and the frequency is 50 or 60Hz.
2Press the “ ” button (On/Off) on the front of the television.
Result:The Standby indicator on the front of the television
lights up.
3Press the POWER ()button on the remote control to switch the
television on.
Result :The programme that you were watching last is re-
selected automatically.
➢
◆If your television isn’t turned on when the POWER ()
button is pressed, press the SELECT button to check if
“TV” mode has been chosen.
◆If you have not yet stored any channels, no clear picture
appears. Refer to “Storing Channels Automatically” on
page 18 or “Storing Channels Manually” on page 20.
4To switch your television off, press the “ ” button (On/Off) again.
Placing Your Television in Standby Mode
Your television can be placed in Standby mode, in order to reduce
the power consumption.
Standby mode can be useful when you wish to interrupt
viewing temporarily (during a meal, for example).
1Press the POWER ()button on the remote control.
Result:The screen is turned off and the Standby indicator on
the front of the television lights up.
2To switch the television back on, simply press the POWER ()
button again or a number button.
➢
You can also switch the TV back on by pressing the TV (),
P /or a number button.
☛Do not leave your television in Standby mode for long
periods of time (when you are away on holiday, for
example). Turn your television off by pressing the “ ”
button (On/Off) on the front of the television. It is best to
unplug the set from the mains and aerial.

Familiarizing Yourself with the Remote Control
The remote control is used mainly to:
◆Change channels and adjust the volume
◆Set up the television using the on-screen menu system
The following table presents the most frequently used buttons and
their functions.

pushed immediately after the first. Failure to do this will
result in a single digit channel being displayed.

To quickly switch between two channels that are far apart,
select the first channel, then use the number buttons to
select the second channel. Then, use the PRE-CH button to
quickly alternate between them.

When the television is initially powered on several basic customer
settings proceed automatically and subsequently. The following
settings are available.
1If the television is in Standby mode, press the POWER ()button
on the remote control.
Result:The message Plug & Play is displayed.
2To start Plug & Play, press the ENTER ()button.
Result:The Language menu is displayed.
3Select the appropriate language by pressing the ▲or ▼button.
Press the ENTER ()button to confirm your choice.
Result:The message Check antenna input. is displayed.
4Make sure that the antenna is connected to the TV, then press the
ENTER ()button.
Result:The Country menu is displayed.
5Select your country by pressing the ▲or ▼button. Press the
ENTER ()button to confirm your choice.
Result:The Auto Store menu is displayed.
6To start channel store, press the ENTER ()button.
Result:The search will end automatically. Channels are sorted
and stored in the order which reflects their position in
the frequency range (with lowest first and highest last).
When it has finished, the Clock Set menu is
displayed.
➢To stop the search before it has finished or return to normal
viewing, press the MENU ()button.
7Press the œor √button to move to the Hour or Minute.
Set these by pressing the ▲or ▼button.
➢You can also set the Hour and Minute by pressing the
number buttons directly.
8Press the ENTER ()button.
9When the setting has all finished, the message Enjoy your
viewing is displayed, then the channel which has been stored will
be activated.

You can scan for the frequency ranges available to you, (availability
depends on your country). Automatically allocated programme
numbers may not correspond to actual or desired programme
numbers. However you can sort numbers manually and clear any
channels you do not wish to watch.
1Press the MENU ()button.
Result:The main menu is displayed.
2Press the ▲or ▼button to select Channel.
Result:The options available in the Channel group are
displayed.
3Press the ENTER ()button.
Result:Country is selected.
4Press the ENTER ()button again. Select your country by
pressing the ▲or ▼button.
The countries are displayed in the following order:
Belgium - Germany - Spain - France - Italy - Netherlands -
Switzerland - Sweden - United Kingdom - Eastern Europe -
Others.
➢If you have selected the Others option but do not wish to
scan the PAL frequency range, store the channels manually
(see page 20).
5Press the ENTER ()button to confirm your choice.
6Press the ▲or ▼button to select Auto Store. Press the
ENTER ()button.
7Press the ENTER ()button to start the search.
Result:The search will end automatically. Channels are sorted
and stored in the order which reflects their position in
the frequency range (with lowest first and highest last).
The programme originally selected is then displayed.
➢To stop the search before it has finished or return to normal
viewing, press the MENU ()button.
8When searching and storing are complete, the Sort menu is
displayed.
◆ To sort the stored channels into the desired numerical order,
go to step 5of the “Sorting the Stored Channels” procedure on
page 19.
◆ To exit from the channel store function without sorting the
channels, press the MENU ()button repeatedly until the
menus disappear.
9When the channels have been stored, you can:
◆ Sort them in the order required (see page 19)
◆ Assign names to the stored channels (see page 23)
◆ Clear a channel (see page 22)
◆ Fine-tune channel reception if necessary (see page 24)
◆ Activate/deactivate the LNA (Low Noise Amplifier) feature
(see page 25)

This operation allows you to change the programme numbers of
stored channels. This operation may be necessary after using the
auto store. You can delete those channels you do not want to keep.
1Press the MENU ()button.

2Press the ▲or ▼button to select Channel.

The options available in the Channel group are
displayed.
3Press the ENTER ()button.
4Press the ▲or ▼button to select Sort. Press the ENTER ()
button.
Result:The Sort menu is displayed.
5Select the channel that you wish to move by pressing the ▲or ▼
button. Press the ENTER ()button.
6Select the number of the programme to which the channel is to be
moved by pressing the ▲or ▼button. Press the ENTER ()
button.
Result:The channel is moved to its new position and all other
channels are shifted accordingly.
7Repeat Steps 5to 6until you have moved all the channels to the
required programme numbers.

Storing Channels Manually
You can store the television channels, including those received via
cable networks.
When storing channels manually, you can choose:
◆Whether or not to store each of the channels found
◆The programme number of each stored channel which
you wish to identify
1Press the MENU ()button.

2Press the ▲or ▼button to select Channel.

3Press the ENTER ()button.
4Press the ▲or ▼button to select Manual Store. Press the
ENTER ()button.
Result:The options available in the Manual store group are

5Press the ENTER ()button again.
6To assign a programme number to a channel, find the correct
number by pressing the ▲or ▼button, then press the ENTER
()button.
7If necessary, select the broadcasting standard required. Press the
▲or ▼button to select Colour System , then press the ENTER
()button. The colour standards are displayed in the following
order.

8Select the desired colour system by pressing the ▲or ▼button.
Press the ENTER ()button to confirm your choice.
9Press the ▲or ▼button to select Sound System, then press the
