Internet security
Samsung takesa number of steps to protect its Internet-compatibleSmart TVs againstunauthorized incursions and
hacking. For example, certain sensi
tive communications between the TV and the Internetservers are encrypted. In
addition, the TV's operating system has adopted controls to prevent the installation of unauthorized applications.
Although wetake steps
to protect yourSmart TV and personal information, no Internet-connected device or
transmission is completely secure. We therefore encourage you to takeadditionalsteps to safeguard your TV, secure
your Internetconnection, and minimize
the risk of unauthorized access.These steps arelisted below:
• When Samsung releases software updates
to improve the security of your TV, you should promptly install
these updates.
To automatically receive these updates, turn on Auto Update in the TV 'smenu (Support >
Software
Update> Auto Update) .When an updateis available, a popup message appearson the TV screen.
Accept
the softwaredownloadand update by selecting YES when prompted. Take steps to secure yourwireless
routerand network.Your router's manualshould provideadditionaldetailsabout how
to implement the
following measures:
-Secureyourwireless router's managementsettings
with a uniquepassword to prevent unauthorized
changes
to security related settings.
-Implementstandard encryption
(e.g. ,WPA2 encryption)on your wireless router to secure yourwireless
network signal.
-Secureaccess
to yourwireless network with a hard-to-guess password.
-Confirm your router's
firewall setting is enabled (if so equipped).
-Make sure
that all your Internet-connected devices are behind your network'sfirewall.

If your router or modem has astandby modebutton, use it to disconnectyour home network from the
Internet when it is not in use.

Use strong passwords for all your Internetaccounts (Netflix, Facebook, etc.). If your TV has acamera, recess the
camera into the TV's bezel when it is not in use. Recessing the camera makes it inoperative.

If any unexpected messages appearon your TV screen requesting permission to link adevice orenablea remote
session, do
NOT accept.

Do not visitsuspiciousweb sitesand do not install anysuspicious programs. We recommend that users install

Providing proper ventilation for your TV
When you installyour TV, maintain adistance of at least 4 inches between the TV and otherobjects (walls, cabinet
side s, etc.) to ensure proper ventilation. Failing to maintain properventilation may result in afire oraproblem with
the product
caused by an increase in its internaltemperature.
When you installyour TV with astand or awall mount, we strongly recommend you use parts provided by Samsung
Electronics only. Using parts provided by another manufacturer may cause difficultieswith the product or result in
injury
caused by the product falling.
Safety Precaution: Securing the TV to the wall to prevent falling
Caution: Pulling, pushing, or climbing on the TV may cause the TV to fall. In particular, ensure
yourchildren do not hang on or destabilizethe TV . This action may cause the TV totip over,
ca us ing serious injuries or death. Follow allsafety precautions provided in theSafety Fl ye r
included with your
TV . For added stability and safe ty, you ca n purchase and installthe an ti-fall
device as described below.
WARNING :Never place atelevision set in an unstable location. The television set may fall, causing
serious personal injuryor death . Many injuries,particularly to children, can be avoided by taking simple

Preventing the TV from falling
1. Using the appropriate screws, firmlyfasten a set of brackets tothe wall.
Confirm thatthe
screws are firmlyattached tothewall.
-
You may need additional material such as wall anchors depending
on the type ofwall.
2. Using the appropriately sized screws, firmlyfasten aset of brackets to
the
TV.
- For the screw specifications, referto "Standard Screw" in thetable
on the previous page.
3. Connect the bracketsfixed to the TV and the brackets fixed tothe wall
with a
durable, heavy-dutystring, and then tiethe string tightly.
-Installthe
TV near thewall so that it does notfall backwards.
-
Connect thestring so thatthe bracketsfixed tothe wall are atthe
same height as or lowerthan the brackets fixed tothe TV.

Pairing the TV to the Samsung Smart Remote

When you turn on the TV for the first time, the Samsung SmartRemote pairs
tothe
TV automatically. If the Samsung SmartRemote does not pair to the TV
automatically, point it at the remotecontrolsensor of the TV, and then press
and hold
the buttons labeled eand Oas shown in the figure on the left
simultaneouslyfor 3 seconds or more.
Installing batteries into the Samsung Smart Remote

1. Press the .A. button at thetop rear of the Samsung SmartRemote. The body will pop out slightly from the body
cover.
2. Turn the remote over, and then slide the body of the remote upwards until the battery compartment is revealed.
3. Press the .. and~ buttons at both sides of the battery compartment to remove the existing batteries.
4. Insert two new batteries(l.SV AAAtype) into the battery compartment making sure that the batteries'
polarities(+,-)are oriented correctly. When done, slide
the body of the remote until it is nearly in itsoriginal
position.
5. Turn the remote over, pressand hold the .A. button on the top rear, and then slide the body of the remote down
intoplace.
• Alkaline batteriesare recommended
for longer battery life.

03 Initial Setup
When you turn on your TV for the first time, it immediately starts the I nitial Setup. Follow the instructionsdisplayed

• Make sure the TV has anetworkconnection (fl>®Settings> General> Network> Network Status).
• Make sure the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly.

Check the distance between the TV and the Modem/Router. The distance should not exceed 50ft (15.2 m).
• Reduce interference by not using or turning off wireless devices. Also, verifythatthere are no obstacles
