Troubleshooting
Q.The mouse cursor movement is not smooth.
A. Although the laser engine is a high performance sensor, there are times when the cursor does not
move smoothly when used on a surface that reflects light, such as a mirror, or a transparent surface
such as glass.
Also, the tracking performance may degrade on regularly patterned surfaces.
Q.Trackball does not work.
A. If you are experiencing erratic movement when you use your trackball, it may be due to the following:
Jittering or random movements.
Likely cause:
Dirty trackball sensor
Damaged or dirty trackball
Possible solutions:
Make sure the battery is fully charged. Low or dead batteries can affect trackball movement.
Turn off your trackball or unplug the trackball from the computer and try cleaning the sensor on the
bottom with compressed air or a cotton swab and clean the trackball with a soft cloth.
Upgrade the firmware for your device if one is available.
Windows only — check if there are any Windows updates running in the background that may cause
the delay.
Mac only — check if there are any background updates that may cause the delay.
Try your device on a different computer.
