Sound equalization system
Use the S.E.S switch to adjust the frequency
response of the system to match the type
of music you are listening to.
B: Provides alarge bass boost.
A: Provides asmaller bass boost.
FLAT: Flat frequency response.
Auto power on funiXion
The power turns on automatically when the
➤/11button is pressed.
Auto power off function
The power turns off automatically when all
tracks on a disc have been played or when
the ■button is pressed once to stop play.
Also, the power turns off automatically in
the following cases:
-After the P-MODE, EN or H< button is
pressed if no other operation is performed
-When the disc compartment is opened
-If the ■button is pressed twice during
play
-If the b/n, EN or 144 button is not
pressed for approximately 3minutes
after entering the pause mode
Back light function
With the AC adaptor operation, the back
light on the display turns on during playing.
With the battery operation, the back light
turns on for approximately 5seconds when
afunction button (except the OPEN button)
is pressed during playing.
Hold function
The HOLD switch disables the buttons
from operating to prevent play from starting
or stopping due to accidental operation.
For normal use, leave the switch in the off
position.
To prevent battery drain:
Set the HOLD switch to the on position
when carrying the unit in abag. The unit
will not operate even if the buttons are
pressed accidentally.

To prevent play from being interrupted:
Set the HOLD switch to the on position
after starting play.
-In the hold mode, if any function button
(except the OPEN button) is pressed
“HoLd” appears on the display for
approximately 1second
-The VOLUME control, S.E. Sand
CONTINUOUS PLAY switches will
operate regardless of the HOLD switch
position.
