The SmartRig II from Saramonic is an easy solution
to connect professional microphones/guitars with
your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices
PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
General Introductions
The SmartRig II from Saramonic is an easy solution to
connect professional microphones/guitars with your
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices.
As a high-quality microphone preamp, SmartRig II allows
you to use professional stage microphones or high-end
studio microphones to create music with your iOS or
Android devices.
Simply plug the microphone into the standard XLR
connector of SmartRig II and connect it to your device with
the 3.5mm output cable.
The provided gain control thumbwheel makes it easy to set
precise levels. Processed sound can be monitored through
a 3.5mm headphone out.

Quick Start Guide
1. Install a 9V battery. Gently slide out the battery cover in
the direction of the arrow at the back of unit. Insert the
battery with the “+” positive terminal lined up with the
“+” indicator on the battery compartment.
2. Connect SmartRig II to your iOS or Android device’s
headphone jack.
3. Connect your microphone to the XLR input of SmartRig II.
4. Download a recording application supporting real-time
input/output pass-through. Then you are be able to
monitor the audio during recording.
5. Turn on the SmartRig II. Slide the power switch to the ON
position. The green LED will light.
6. If your microphone needs phantom power, please slide
the power switch to the +48V position. The red and
green LEDs will light at the same time.
7. You are now ready to record by the microphone on your
device. Adjust the GAIN control flexibly to get the the
optimum signal levels. Check the input level meter on
the app. This level meter should peak as high as
possible but never reach the maximum level.
8. If you need to monitor your recording, please connect
your headphones to the head-phone output.
Tips:
• Be careful not to turn the phantom power ON with
passive ribbon microphones as the current may damage
it. Please turn ON phantom power ONLY if the ribbon
micro-phone clearly says it’s needed.
• Please set the GAIN properly during recording. If the
GAIN is too low, recordings will be too quiet, and they
will become too noisy when boosted within the apps. If
the GAIN is too high, recordings will be distorted.
• If you hear echoes when using high GAIN settings, please
lower the device volume with the volume button.
• If you can’t hear audio when monitoring, please make
sure the applications you choose can support real-time
input/output pass-through.
Warranty
1. Saramonic International provides one-year warranty
under normal use and lifelong paid maintenance from
the date you purchase this product.
2. Saramonic International will repair or replace the
product that under the warranty for free during the
one-year valid period, but customers should pay for
shipping and insurance charges for returning the
product to Saramonic International.
3. This warranty only applies where a defect has arisen,
wholly or substantially, as a result of faulty manufacture,
parts or workmanship during the warranty period.
4. This warranty does not cover:
• All damages caused by human factors include using the
products in abnormal conditions and operate the device
without according to the user manual.
• The guarantee is invalid if defect is caused by incorrect
use, poor maintenance or if persons not authorized by
Saramonic International have carried out alterations or
repairs.
• Damages caused by poor transportation after you
purchased this product.
• Force majeure such as fire, flood, lighting stroke,
earthquake.
• Customers who can not show valid invoice.
5. Wherever you purchased our products, you will be
served very well at local retailer.
6. Saramonic International reserves all the rights for the
ultimate interpretation.
