Maintenance
Cleaning
The Scan Bed Alpha does not tolerate cleaning in an automatic washing plant or using
water-jet based cleaning equipment.
The bed should be washed down using a sponge, cloth or brush. Use ordinary
household cleaning agents.
Dry the bed after cleaning.
Never use acids, alkaline or solvents such as acetone or cellulose thinner.
The hand control box, motors and control may be washed with brush and water, but
not with pressurized water.
If the backrest is raised be careful not to lower is unintentionally, with the risk of
getting squeezed between the backrest and the top frame.
Remove the mains plug from the socket before cleaning under the backrest.
Maintenance and Check-ups
Service and maintenance of the Scan Bed Alpha may not be performed by personnel
who have received the necessary instruction or training.
After three months of use, thumb screws should be checked for tightness and the
mechanism of the siderail should be checked.
With normal everyday operation a service inspection is made after two years of use,
and thereafter every year. This can be arranged through Scan Mobility.
A safety test comprising control of the motors’ performance and mechanical state is
recommended once a year.
Motors, hand control box, control unit
These parts are serviced when exchanging a faulty part.
Motors, control and control box must be regularly cleaned from dust and dirt and they
must be inspected for mechanical damage or breakage.
Inspect anchor points, cables, casing and plugs and check the correct functioning of
the actuator.
