Chapter 3:BIOS
This Main Menu can display all the major option’s setting and the users
are allowed to set any option as he prefers.Take the setting of “Standard
CMOS Features” for example. The setting steps are:
(1)Shift to the item you want.
(2)Press <Enter>, a menu will immediately popping up on your screen.
(3)Move to the item such as “Drive A” and press <Enter>.
(4)Pressing <PageUp> or <PageDown> key, you will see such as EGA/
VGA, CGA 40, CGA 80, MONO.
(5)Shift to the item you want to set and press <Enter>.
(6)Press <Esc> to return to Main Menu.
(7)Shift to <SAVE & EXIT SETUP> and press <Enter>.
(8)Choose <Y> to save the data you renewded and Reboot.
Thus you will be able to load your new settings.
<P.S.> If you are puzzled at setting the options, Item Help in the menu
will instruct you how to handle well. Thus, you will not be held at bay.

needed of the clients.

The system works in the safest mode while the system has some
setting problems.

If the users want to save the items, which they change, please
type Yes and then save it. Then, the system will resume again.

3.2 Standard CMOS Setup

The current values for each category are displayed. Enter new
values through PgDn or PgUp. Ex: To change the Nov to Dec,
it only uses PgDn and then it will set to Dec. Also, it uses the
same method as the Date and Year.

The current values for each category are displayed. Enter new
values through PgDn or PgUp. Ex: To change the 10:20:30 to
11:20:30, it is easy to change the new value by clicking PgDn.

BFloppy Drive A and B
Press PgDn or PgUp to this field and select the correct floppy
type. These available options are 1.44MB 3 1/2 >> 2.88MB 3
1/2> Not Installed> 360KB 5 1/4> 1.2MB 5 1/4> 1.2MB 5 1/
4>720KB 3 1/2.

Select Auto via PgUp or PgDn to let AMIBIOS automatically
configure the drive.

AMIBIOS provide this function. The available options are
Disable >> Enable. The default is disable. Under Enabled,
when a virus warning message appears and the user selects
continue, the operation continues.

Set this option to Enabled to instruct AMIBIOS to boot quickly
when the computer is powered on. This option replaces the old
ABOVE 1MB Memory Test Advanced Setup option. The
available options are Enabled>> Disabled.

the AMIBIOS attempts to boot from after AMIBIOS POST

The option sets the type of device for the third boot drives that
the AMIBIOS attempts to boot from after AMIBIOS POST
completes. The available options are CDROM>>SCSI>
NETWORK>USB FDD>Disabled.

Set this option to Yes to instruct AMIBIOS to attempt to boot
from any other drive in the system if it cannot find a boot drive
among the drives specified in the 1st Boot Device ,2nd Boot
Device, 3rd Boot Device, 4th Boot Device. The available op
tions are Yes>>No.

BFloppy Access Control
This option specifies the read/write access that is set while boot-
ing from a floppy drive. The settings are Read-Write or Read-
Only. The default value is Read-Write.If the user wants to write
into the drive, he/ she selects the Read-Write option.

BHard Disk Access Control
This option specifies the read/write access that is set while boot-
ing from a floppy drive. The available options are Read-Write
or Read-Only. Usually, the default is Read-Write.
If the user wants to save the data into the hard disk, he/ she
should select Read-Write.

BS.M.A.R.T. for Hard Disks
This option specifies the AMIBIOS to use the System Manage-
ment And Reporting Technologies protocol for the reporting
server system information over network.
The settings are Enabled or Disabled. The default setting is
Disabled. If the user wants to use S.M.A.R.T to control the
system, he/she selects Enabled.
