To Build the Trestle II Stand for the Rigid Heddle Loom:
1. Attach the bases (1) to the uprights (2) using 3" long machine screws and barrel nuts as shown in the diagram.
2. Attach the plastic pulley (P) at hole (F) in the left upright with the thinner #8 x 1" round head wood screw.
Allow the pulley to turn freely.
3. Attach the ratchet dog (8) to the inside of the right upright above the upper hole (X) with the thicker #14 x 1"
round head screw. Allow it to pivot freely.
4. Insert the 1 1/2" flat head machine screw partially into hole (D) from the outside of the upright.
5. Take the warp beam brake lever (9), and insert the spring holder with the spring and washers (7) into hole (E)
in the right upright. Attach the brake lever by placing hole (K) onto the flat head machine screw in hole (D).
Secure the brake lever in place with the 1/4” lock nut. Be sure that the lever pivots freely.
6. Insert the cloth (Y) and the warp (W) beams into the holes (X) in the right upright, with the cloth beam above
the warp beam. Be sure the gears on the beams are on the right side. Lift the ratchet dog so that it falls down on
the gear of the cloth beam. Push the brake lever in so the gear on the warp beam clears it as you put the beam
into the hole.
7. Slip the rubber brake belt (R) over the left end of the warp beam. This belt will prevent the warp beam from
spinning free when tension is removed while advancing the warp.
8. Insert the left sides of the cloth and warp beams into holes (X) in the left upright. Stretch the rubber brake belt
over the pulley.
9. Place the wooden crank handles (L) over the ends of the cloth and warp beams and attach them with the
#10 x 1" flat head wood screws.
To Attach the RH loom to the Trestle II Stand
1. Push a 2 ½" flat head machine screw through the side of the loom at hole (G) in the heddle holder (3) from
the inside and on through the top hole (A) in the upright of the stand. Securely fasten this screw with a ¼" washer
and a wing nut. Do the same on the other side of the loom.
2. Push the 2" truss head machine screws through the holes (H) in the sides, from the inside out, and through
the nylon spacers (5) and screw it into the metal insert (B) on the adjuster. The flange on the metal insert on the adjuster
bar faces out.
3. Push the 2" carriage bolts through the holes (C) in the uprights from the inside and through the slot in the
adjuster bars. Note: On the Rigid Heddle Loom, the adjuster bars fit on the outside of the stand uprights.
4. Place a washer and wing nut on the bolts and tighten securely. Tap the carriage bolt into the upright with a ham-
mer. Loosening the wing nuts will allow you to freely adjust your stand to the desired weaving position
5. Loosely assemble the adjustable cross brace (6) with 2" carriage bolts, washers, and wing nuts as shown in
the diagram. Secure the cross brace to the stand base as indicated in the diagram using 2 ½ " machine screws
and barrel nuts.
6. Before tightening the wing nuts on the adjustable cross brace, make sure the stand uprights are as far apart at
the bottom of the stand as at the top.
7. Remove the apron bars from the Rigid Heddle Loom and attach them to the cloth and warp beams on the
Trestle II Stand with the longer cords which come with the Trestle II Stand.
