1 General
1.1 About this manual
This manual contains important information for a safe and
appropriate use of the product.
This manual is an integral part of the product and must be kept
accessible for the personnel at all times.
Before starting work, the personnel must have read and
understood this operating manual. Prerequisite for safe working
is the observance of all safety instructions in this manual.
In addition to these instructions, the documents listed
under }1.1.3 [/6] are applicable.
NOTE: The illustrations in this manual are intended to provide a
basic understanding and may deviate from the actual version.
1.1.1 Presentation of Warning Labels
To make risks clear, the following signal words and symbols are
used for safety notes.

1.2 Warranty
If the product is used as intended, the warranty is valid for 12
months from the ex-works delivery date under the following
conditions:

This does not include special agreements regarding the warranty

2 Basic safety notes
2.1 Product safety
The product represents the state of the art and the recognized
safety rules. However, the product can pose hazards if, for
example:
lThe product is not used as intended.
lThe product is not installed, maintained, stored or
transported properly.
lThe safety and installation instructions in this manual are not
followed.
Avoid any manner of working that could interfere with the
function and operational safety of the product.
2.2 Intended use
lThe product is solely intended for use in machine tools to
record process data from the iTENDO² used.
lThe Wireless Receiver may only be connected to an iTENDO²
and the iTENDO² Connect Box or the iTENDO² app.
lThe product may only be installed and used within the scope
of the information in the technical data.
lThe product is intended for industrial use.
lAppropriate use of the product includes compliance with all
instructions in this manual.
2.3 Inappropriate use
The product is not being used as intended if, for example:
lThe information in the technical data is not observed when
using and operating the product.
lThe product is operated in corrosive media.
lThe maintenance and storage specifications are not complied
with.
2.4 Constructional changes
Implementation of structural changes
By conversions, changes, and reworking, e.g. additional threads,
holes, or safety devices can impair the functioning or safety of
the product or damage it.
lStructural changes should only be made with the written
approval of SCHUNK.

2.5 Spare parts
Use of unauthorized spare parts
Using unauthorized spare parts can endanger personnel and
damage the product or cause it to malfunction.
lUse only original spare parts or spares authorized by SCHUNK.
2.6 Environmental and operating conditions
Required ambient conditions and operating conditions
Incorrect ambient and operating conditions can make the
product unsafe, leading to the risk of serious injuries,
considerable material damage and/or a significant reduction to
the product's life span.
2.7 Personnel qualification
Inadequate qualifications of the personnel
If the personnel working with the product is not sufficiently
qualified, the result may be serious injuries and significant
property damage.
lAll work may only be performed by qualified personnel.
lBefore working with the product, the personnel must have
read and understood the complete assembly and operating
manual.
lObserve the national safety regulations and rules and general
safety instructions.
The following personal qualifications are necessary for the
various activities related to the product:
Trained electrician Due to their technical training, knowledge and experience,
trained electricians are able to work on electrical systems,
recognize and avoid possible dangers and know the relevant
standards and regulations.
Qualified personnel Due to its technical training, knowledge and experience,
qualified personnel is able to perform the delegated tasks,
recognize and avoid possible dangers and knows the relevant
standards and regulations.
Instructed person Instructed persons were instructed by the operator about the
delegated tasks and possible dangers due to improper behaviour.
Service personnel of
the manufacturer
Due to its technical training, knowledge and experience, service
personnel of the manufacturer is able to perform the delegated
tasks and to recognize and avoid possible dangers.

2.8 Obligations of the operator
The operator must ensure that:
lThe product is only used as intended.
lThe product is only operated in a perfect and fully functional
status.
lThe correct functioning of the product is checked regularly.
lThe operating manual is always kept in a complete and
legible condition close to the product.
lThe product may only be operated and maintained by
sufficiently qualified and authorized personnel.
lThe personnel is familiar with the contents of the operating
manual, in particular the safety notes contained therein.
lThe personnel are regularly instructed in occupational safety
and environmental protection.
2.9 Personal protective equipment
Use of personal protective equipment
Personal protective equipment serves to protect staff against
danger which may interfere with their health or safety at work.
lWhen working on and with the product, observe the
occupational health and safety regulations and wear the
required personal protective equipment.
lObserve the valid safety and accident prevention regulations.
lWear protective gloves to guard against sharp edges and
corners or rough surfaces.
lWear heat-resistant protective gloves when handling hot
surfaces.
lWear protective gloves and safety goggles when handling
hazardous substances.
lWear close-fitting protective clothing and also wear long hair
in a hairnet when dealing with moving components.

2.10 Notes on safe operation
Incorrect handling of the personnel
Incorrect handling and assembly may impair the product's safety
and cause serious injuries and considerable material damage.
lAvoid any manner of working that may interfere with the
function and operational safety of the product.
lUse the product as intended.
lObserve the safety notes and assembly instructions.
lDo not expose the product to any corrosive media. This does
not apply to products that are designed for special
environments.
lEliminate any malfunction immediately.
lObserve the care and maintenance instructions.
lObserve the current safety, accident prevention and
environmental protection regulations regarding the product's
application field.
2.11 Transport
Handling during transport
Incorrect handling during transport may impair the product's
safety and cause serious injuries and considerable material
damage.
lWhen handling heavy weights, use lifting equipment to lift
the product and transport it by appropriate means.
lSecure the product against falling during transportation and
handling.
lStand clear of suspended loads.
To prevent damage to the product during transport, the following
must be observed:
lProtect the product from penetrating humidity (e.g. with
suitable packaging).
lThe ambient conditions specified in the technical data must
be observed.
lThe product must be protected from vibrations and impacts.

2.12 Malfunctions
Behavior in case of malfunctions
lImmediately remove the product from operation and report
the malfunction to the responsible departments/persons.
lOrder appropriately trained personnel to rectify the
malfunction.
lDo not recommission the product until the malfunction has
been rectified.
lTest the product after a malfunction to establish whether it
still functions properly and no increased risks have arisen.
2.13 Maintenance
For trouble-free, long-lasting use, clean, maintain and check the
functionality of the product regularly.
Repair work may only be carried out by SCHUNK!

The specified maintenance intervals are based on practical
experience gathered by SCHUNK and are recommended.
Depending on the ambient and operating conditions, as well as
the clamping frequency of the product, the maintenance
intervals must be adapted and noted accordingly. For
maintenance intervals with two or more specifications, the valid
specification is the one that applies first.
After completing essential maintenance work, any required
settings and functional tests must be carried out again.

2.14 Disposal
Handling of disposal
The incorrect handling of disposal may impair the product's
safety and cause serious injuries as well as considerable material
and environmental harm.
lFollow local regulations on dispatching product components
for recycling or proper disposal.
In accordance with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
(WEEE) Directive, the following must be observed during disposal:
lThis product may not be disposed of in household waste. It
must be taken to a collection point for material recovery and
recycling.
2.15 Fundamental dangers
General
lObserve safety distances.
lNever deactivate safety installations.
Disconnect the power source before installation, conversion,
maintenance, or calibration. Ensure that no residual energy
remains in the system.
2.15.1 Protection during handling and assembly
Incorrect handling and assembly
Incorrect handling and assembly can make the product unsafe
and can risk the danger of serious injuries and considerable
material damage.
lOrder all work to be performed only by appropriately qualified
personnel.
lObserve the relevant accident prevention regulations.
lUse suitable assembly and transport equipment.
lTake precautions against pinching and crushing.
2.15.2 Protection during commissioning and operation
Falling and ejected components can lead to serious injury or
death.
lObserve the specifications in the iTENDO² operating manual.
lOnly use iTENDO² in machines with closed protective
equipment.
lDo not exceed the permissible speed range of the iTENDO² (see
iTENDO² operating manual).

3 iTENDO² easy monitor
This product is a software-based system extension of the iTENDO²
easy connect system.
Therefore, a functioning iTENDO² easy connect system is required
for its use. Information on the setup and function of the iTENDO²
easy connect system is provided in the product-specific Assembly
and Operating Manual (1539948).
The iTENDO² easy connect software extension increases the
functionality of the iTENDO² app. This allows processes to be
assigned to the memory banks and thus recordings to be made
and saved directly using the iTENDO² app. If the recordings are
started via Digital IN on the iTENDO² Connect Box, the trend
history of these recordings can be monitored. In addition, alarm
limits can be set in the processes, which can also be read out
directly by means of the iTENDO² Connect Box.

iTENDO² easy connect Assembly and Operating Manual (1539948).

5 iTENDO² app with easy monitor
5.1 Basic information
NOTICE
Possible transmission errors of the sensor data.
Obstacles or electromagnetic interference from the environment
can cause transmission errors during the transmission of sensor
data.
lCorrect interpretation of the sensor data is the responsibility
of the user.
NOTICE
Possible material damage due to humidity.
Penetrating humidity can damage the iTENDO² tablet and impair
its functionality.
lProtect the iTENDO² tablet from humidity.
Information regarding the warnings and risks of using the
iTENDO² tablet can be found in the Assembly and Operating
Manual for the iTENDO² pad (ID 1494155) and in the tablet
manufacturer's "Quick start" manual.
IMPORTANT!Select "ITN-EM-...." to connect to the iTENDO²
Wireless Receiver! If a sensor with the description "ITN-TH-...."
is selected, the pad version of the iTENDO² app will start! This
version has a different range of functions!
5.2 Setting up the iTENDO² tablet
To set up the tablet, follow the instructions in the iTENDO² pad
Assembly and Operating Manual (ID 1494155).
5.3 Opening and closing the iTENDO² app
To open and close the iTENDO² app, follow the instructions in the
iTENDO² pad Assembly and Operating Manual (ID 1494155).

5.4 Update from easy connect to easy monitor
The software update is carried out using the iTENDO² app on the
iTENDO² Wireless Receiver.
1. Start the iTENDO² app.
2. Connect the iTENDO² Wireless Receiver ("ITN-EC-...") with the
iTENDO² app (a).
3. Open the "Wireless Receiver management" area (b).
4. Open the settings (c).
5. Select the input field for the activation code (d).
6. Enter the activation code and confirm with "OK". NOTE: The
activation code is supplied in a separate document.
7. Disconnect the iTENDO² Wireless Receiver in the iTENDO² app.
8. Press the reset button on the iTENDO² Connect Box for at least
5 seconds.
ðThe iTENDO² app can now connect to the updated version
of the iTENDO² Wireless Receiver }5.6.2 [/20].

5.5 Creating screenshots
There are two ways of creating screenshots in the iTENDO² app:
lBriefly press the On/Off button and the Volume down button
simultaneously (1). NOTE: This allows screenshots to also be
created outside of the iTENDO² app.

lTap the camera button in the iTENDO² app (2).

Accessing the screenshots
To call up the screenshots, follow the instructions in the iTENDO²
pad Assembly and Operating Manual (ID 1494155).
5.6 Operating the iTENDO² app with easy connect
NOTE
If the tablet no longer responds to inputs, a restart can be
forced. To do this, press the "ON/OFF" button and the "Volume
down" button simultaneously for 7 seconds.
IMPORTANT!Select "ITN-EM-...." to connect to the iTENDO²
Wireless Receiver! If a sensor with the description "ITN-TH-...."
is selected, the pad version of the iTENDO² app will start! This
version has a different range of functions!

displayed, the memory banks can be filled and the values table
for the memory banks can be displayed.
