General Description: This multi-function emergency radio includes a built-in solar panel and digital
display – never needs batteries. Features AM/FM and alarm. Can be charged via built-in dynamo,
built-in solar panel or external USB connection. Charges cell phones and other digital devices.

Operating Instructions:
Charging the Battery Using the Hand Crank: Unlock
the handle and crank clockwise at about 3 revolutions per
second for 1 minute or more. Continue cranking for additional
charging as needed. The red charging light will glow when
charging.
Charging the Battery Using the Built-in Solar Panel:
Placetheradioindirectsunlightwiththesolarpanelfacing
directly into the sun. The red charging light will glow when
charging.
Charging the Battery with External USB Power Source:
Using the male USB cable included with the radio, plug the
small round pin into the DC port on the side of the radio.
PlugthelargemaleUSBplugintoyourUSBpowersupply
– Computer, DC car adaptor, AC adaptor or external solar
panel. The red charging light will glow while charging
Using the Radio: First, make sure that the ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the radio is in the ON
position. Turn on the radio using the volume control knob on the left side of the radio. Select AM or FM
on the Band button on the top of the radio. Select stations using the Tuning knob on the right side of
the radio. Fully extend the antenna for best reception.
Backlighting for Radio Display:PresstheLightbuttononthetopoftheradiotolightthestation
tuning back lighting. This will stay on for 10 seconds and then shot off automatically.
Setting the Local Time: Pressandholdthe“TimeSet”button.Atthesametime,presseitherthe
“Hour”or“Minute”buttontosetthelocaltime.Releasethebuttonsandyourtimeisset.

Setting the Alarm:Pressandholdthe“ALSet”button.Atthesametime,pressthe“Hour”or
“Minute”buttontosetthedesiredalarmtime.Releasethebuttonsandyouralarmtimeisset.
Turning On the Alarm: Pressthe“ALON/OFF”buttontoturnonandoffthealarm.Analarm
icon will show up on the upper right part of the display to indicate that the alarm is on.
Using the Flashlight: First, make sure that the ON/OFF switch on the bottom of the radio is in
theONposition.PresstheTorchbuttononthetopoftheradiototurnontheLEDflashlight.Press
again to turn the flashlight off.
Charging Digital Devices: Tochargecellphones,iPodsorotherdigitaldevices,usetheincluded
female USB cable and plug the round pin at one end of the cable into the DC port on the side of the
radio Use your standard USB charging cable and plug the large male USB plug into the large female
USB port at the other end of the charging cable. With your device connected, turn the built-in hand
crank steadily clockwise at about 3 revolutions per second. Your device will continue to charge as
long as you continue to crank.
Precautions:
• Toavoidinjury,nevershinetheLEDlightdirectlyintheeyes.
• Crankasevenlyaspossibleandkeeprotatingsteadily.Crankingtooslowlywillincreasethe
charging time, cranking too quickly can damage the power generator.
• Becarefulwhencrankingtooavoidinjurytofingersandfingernails
• Toincreasethelifespanofthebattery,donotcrankcontinuouslyformorethan3minuteswhenthe
flashlight can light normally – and do not crank more than 10 minutes continuously when it can’t light.
• Crankingthehandleatleast1minuteonceamonthwillprolongthelifeofbattery.
• Neverleavetheradioinextremelyhighheatorhumidity.
