General
Information
Purpose
The Rack Mount Kit 4 (RMK4) is an
installation frame.
Its purpose is to install a
dongleserver Pro or a EPS TSE Server
8 into a server rack.
The installation frame is to be fixed
(unmovably) to the server rack.
With the integrated push opener
(push-to-open technology), the
dongleserver Pro respectively EPS
TSE Server 8 can be moved forwards
to protrude a bit from the installation
frame and then back again.
This Hardware Installation Guide
describes the installation of the
dongleserver Pro or EPS TSE Server 8
into a server rack using the RMK4. All
other usage of the installation frame,
i.e. that which is not described in this
document, is improper use.
Documentation
The dongleserver Pro and EPS TSE
Server 8 will be referred to together
as 'device' in this documentation.
The installation is described using a
dongleserver Pro. If you install a EPS
TSE Server 8, apply the steps
demonstrated with the dongleserver
Pro to the EPS TSE Server 8.

Information
Verwendungszweck
Das Rack Mount Kit 4 (RMK4) ist ein
Einbaurahmen.
Es wird für die Installation eines
dongleserver Pro oder eines EPS TSE
Server 8 in einen Serverschrank
verwendet.
Der Einbaurahmen wird im
Serverschrank fest installiert.
Über den integrierten Drucköffner
(Push-to-Open-Technik) kann der
dongleserver Pro bzw. EPS TSE Server
8 etwas aus dem Einbaurahmen
heraus und wieder hinein bewegt
werden.
Dieser Hardware Installation Guide
beschreibt den Einbau eines
dongleserver Pro oder EPS TSE Server
8 in einen Serverschrank unter
Verwendung des RMK4. Alle
Verwendungen des Einbaurahmens,
die den in dieser Dokumentation
beschriebenen Funktionalitäten
nicht entsprechen, sind
bestimmungswidrig.
Dokumentation
Der dongleserver Pro und der EPS TSE
Server 8 werden in dieser
Dokumentation zusammenfassend
als 'Gerät' bezeichnet.
Der Einbau wird anhand des
dongleserver Pro beschrieben. Beim
Einbau eines EPS TSE Server 8
übertragen Sie die am dongleserver

• Check the size and settings of
your server rack and compare the
data with those of the RMK4 5.

– Material for mounting in the

– additional material for cable

Safety Regulations
Observe the following safety

• Read and observe the safety
regulations of the server rack, the
device, and the RMK4.
• The RMK4 must only be used with
the device and for its intended
purpose.
• Make sure that the server rack is
stable.
• Make sure that there is sufficient
ventilation around the device in
the server rack and, if possible,
leave a gap between adjacent 19"
slots.
You find the permissible
operating temperature range for
your device in the product
documentation.
• The installation must only take
place as described in this
document.
• The installation must only be
carried out by qualified
personnel.
• There is a risk of crushing and
injury during installation and use.
Be careful with your fingers and
other body parts.

Preparation
Once the device is in the installation
frame, its type plate is covered.
1. Note down all device data, so that
you have it available at any time.
You find the type plate at the
underside of the device.
If your device is already in use, you
have to prepare the device.
1. Disconnect the power cord from
the device.
(Interrupt the power supply)
2. Disconnect the network cable
(RJ-45) from the device.
Vorbereitung
Beim Einbau des Gerätes in den
Einbaurahmen wird das Typenschild
des Gerätes durch den
Einbaurahmen verdeckt.
1. Notieren Sie sich alle Geräte-
daten, um die Daten jederzeit
einsehen zu können.
Das Typenschild befindet sich auf
der Unterseite des Gerätes.
Falls Sie das Gerät bereits eingesetzt
haben, müssen Sie das Gerät
vorbereiten.
1. Entfernen Sie das Netzkabel vom
Gerät.
(Stromzufuhr unterbrechen)
2. Entfernen Sie das Netzwerkkabel
(RJ-45) vom Gerät.

Installation:
1st Step
Remove all the rubber feet of the
device.
1. Place the device upside down on
a solid surface.
2. Remove the pin from the rubber
foot using a small slotted screw-
driver.
The rubber foot detaches
automatically.
3. Repeat step 2 with all the other
rubber feet.
4. Turn the device over again.
Important:
Keep the pins and rubber
feet in a safe place for
potential future use.
Einbau:
1. Schritt
Entfernen Sie alle Füße des Gerätes.
1. Platzieren Sie das Gerät kopfüber
auf eine feste Unterlage.
2. Hebeln Sie mit einem kleinen
Schlitzschraubenzieher den Stift
aus dem Fuß heraus.
Der Fuß löst sich automatisch.
3. Wiederholen Sie Schritt 2 mit
allen anderen Füßen.
4. Drehen Sie das Gerät wieder
herum.
Wichtig:
Bewahren Sie Stifte und
Füße für einen
eventuellen zukünftigen
Einsatz gut auf.

Place the device into the installation
frame.
1. Place the installation frame onto a
solid surface.
2. Place the device into the
installation frame.
The device must be between the
guiding rails; the device front and
installation frame front must be
flush.
Einbau:

You have 2 options of installing the
device within the RMK4.
• Version 1: movable installation

The device can be moved
forwards a bit and then
backwards again with the push
opener (push-to-open).
• Option 2: fixed installation 13
The device is screwed in place
and cannot move in the
installation frame.
Decide on one of these versions and
follow the corresponding directions.

Entscheiden Sie sich für eine dieser
Varianten und befolgen Sie die
entsprechenden Anweisungen.

Option 1: Movable Installation
The RMK4 has two guiding holes in-
between which the device is retained
with 2 screws but free to move.
1. Screw 1 of the supplied round
head screwsnto the tapped hole
on the right side of the device.
2. Repeat step 1 on the left side of
the device.
Variante 1: beweglicher Einbau
Das RMK4 verfügt über zwei
Führungslöcher zwischen denen das
Gerät wird mit Hilfe von 2 Schrauben
beweglich fixiert wird.
1. Schrauben Sie eine der
mitgelieferten
Flachkopfschrauben in die
Gewindebohrung auf der rechten
Seite des Gerätes.
2. Wiederholen Sie Schritt 1 auf der
linken Seite des Gerätes.

Option 2: Fixed Installation
The RMK4 has two guiding holes in-
between which the device is retained
with 2 screws in a first step. Then a
third screw on the underside of the
device locks it into place.
1. Screw 1 of the supplied round
head screws into the tapped hole
on the right side of the device.
2. Repeat step 1 on the left side of
the device.
3. Turn over the installation frame
including device so that the
underside of the installation
frame faces upwards.
4. On the right-hand front side, a
counterbore in the frame and a
tapped hole in the device align
congruently.
Insert the countersunk screw and
fix it in order to lock the device
Variante 2: Fester Einbau
Das RMK4 verfügt über zwei
Führungslöcher zwischen denen das
Gerät mit Hilfe von 2 Schrauben
zunächst beweglich fixiert wird. Mit
einer 3. Schraube auf der Unterseite
wird das Gerät anschließend
arretiert.
1. Schrauben Sie eine der
mitgelieferten
Flachkopfschrauben in die
Gewindebohrung auf der rechten
Seite des Gerätes.
2. Wiederholen Sie Schritt 1 auf der
linken Seite des Gerätes.
3. Wenden Sie den Einbaurahmen
inklusive Gerät, sodass die
Unterseite des Einbaurahmens
oben ist.
4. Rechts vorne überlappen sich
eine Senkbohrung im
Einbaurahmen und eine
Gewindebohrung im Gerät.
Schrauben Sie die
Senkkopfschraube dort hinein,

Connect the network cable to the
device.
1. Connect the network cable (RJ-
45) to the device.
You can manage the network
cable in different ways:
– To the back
– To the front: There is a hole in
the left front of the installation
frame.
2. If necessary, fix the network cable
(e.g. with a cable tie) to the stress
relief bracket which is located on
the outer left side of the
installation frame.
WARNING
A too restrictive cable
management or
insufficient cable fixing
damages the cables!
Make sure that your
cabling
1. has sufficient length
(play) if you have
chosen the movable
installation (option 1
12)!
2. has sufficient stress
relief!
3. is fixed sufficiently!
Important:
Connect the network
cable while it is not
connected to the
network. This step follows
later.

(RJ-45) mit dem Gerät.

Eine zu restriktive
Kabelführung oder

beschädigt die Kabel!
Achten Sie bei der
Verkabelung auf eine

Kabellänge (Spiel),
falls Sie das Gerät
beweglich eingebaut
haben (Variante 1

2. ausreichende
Zugentlastung!
3. ausreichende
Kabelfixierung!
Wichtig:
Schließen Sie das
Netzwerkkabel an, ohne
eine Verbindung zum
Netzwerk herzustellen.
Dieser Schritt erfolgt

Zugentlastungsvorrichtung, die
sich links außen am

Installation:

Connect the power cord to the
device.
1. Pull off the power cord from the
power pack.
2. Stick the adhesive strip to the
blank underside of the power
pack.
The type plate is on top of the
power pack.
3. Position the power pack with the
adhesive strip facing downwards
onto the installation frame in
such a way that it is in the rear-
right corner of the installation
frame and that the socket of the
power pack is in the opening of

cabling
1. has sufficient length

Netzteilblock.
2. Kleben Sie den Klebestreifen auf
die unbeschriftete Unterseite des
Netzteilblocks.
Das Typenschild befindet sich auf
der Oberseite des Netzteilblocks.
3. Positionieren Sie den Netzteil-
block mit dem Klebestreifen nach

Achten Sie bei der
Verkabelung auf eine

onto the installation frame so that
sticks to it.
5. Connect the power cord to the
device.
6. Bundle up the cable between
power pack and device (e.g. with
the supplied cable tie). Fix the
cable to the stress relief bracket
which is located on the middle
right side of the device.

dem beigefügten Kabelbinder).
Nutzen Sie die
Zugentlastungsvorrichtung, die
sich rechts mittig neben dem
Gerät befindet, um das Kabel zu
fixieren.
