General
Information
Intended Purpose
The Rack Mount Kit 3 (RMK3)
contains rails and accessories for
installing a myUTN-800 or
dongleserver ProMAX into a rack.
These rails will fit a 19" rack that is at
least 14.5" deep.
This installation guide describes the
installation of a myUTN-800
respectively dongleserver ProMAX
into a rack using the RMK3.
There are a variety of racks on the
market, which may mean the
installation procedure will differ
slightly. Also refer to the installation
instructions that came with the rack
you are using.
Only pull out the myUTN-800
respectively dongleserver ProMAX
temporarily for installation,
maintenance and the connection or
removal of USB devices.
Documentation
The myUTN-800 and dongleserver
ProMAX will be referred to together
as 'device' in this documentation.
The installation is described using a
myUTN-800. If you install a
dongleserver ProMAX, apply the
steps demonstrated with the
myUTN-800 to the dongleserver
ProMAX.

Verwendungszweck
Das Rack Mount Kit 3 (RMK3)
beinhaltet Schienen mit Zubehör für
den Einbau eines myUTN-800 oder
dongleserver ProMAX in einen
Serverschrank.
Die Schienen sind konstruiert für 19-
Zoll-Serverschränke mit einer
Mindest-Einbautiefe von 37 cm.
Diese Einbauanleitung beschreibt
den Einbau eines myUTN-800 oder
dongleserver ProMAX in einen
Serverschrank unter Verwendung
des RMK3.
Auf dem Markt existieren mehrere
Serverschrank-Varianten, die sich im
Aufbau leicht unterscheiden. Lesen
Sie auch die Dokumentation zu
Ihrem Serverschrank.
Ziehen Sie den myUTN-800 bzw.
dongleserver ProMAX nur temporär
für Einbau, Wartungsarbeiten und
den Anschluss von USB-Geräten
heraus.
Dokumentation
Der myUTN-800 und der dongleserver
ProMAX werden in dieser
Dokumentation zusammenfassend
als 'Gerät' bezeichnet.
Der Einbau wird anhand des myUTN-
800 beschrieben. Beim Einbau eines
dongleserver ProMAX übertragen Sie
die am myUTN-800 durchgeführten
Schritte auf den dongleserver
ProMAX.

Safety Regulations
Note the following safety
regulations:
• Read and observe the safety
regulations about the rack, the
device, and the RMK3.
• The RMK3 must not be used for
any other purpose than that for
which it has been designed.
• Always make sure the rack is
stable.
• Always make sure that there is
sufficient ventilation for the
device in the rack and, if possible,
leave a gap between adjacent 19"
units. The permissible operating
temperature range for your
device can be found in the
device‘s Quick Installation Guide.
• The installation must only be
carried out by qualified
personnel.
• There is a risk of crushing and
injury during installation and use.
Be careful with your fingers and
other body parts.

Preparation
1. Remove the power cords from
the device. (Interrupt the power
supply)
2. Remove the network cables (RJ-
45) from the device.
Vorbereitung
1. Entfernen Sie die
Stromversorgungskabel
(Netzkabel) vom Gerät.
(Stromzufuhr unterbrechen)
2. Entfernen Sie die Netzwerkkabel
(RJ-45) vom Gerät.

Installation: Step 1
Remove the rubber feet
Remove all the rubber feet from the
device.
1. Place the device carefully upside
down on a solid surface.
2. Remove the pin from the rubber
foot using a small slotted screw-
driver.
The rubber foot detaches
automatically.
3. Repeat step 2 for the other rubber
feet.
4. Turn the device around again.
Important:
Please keep pins and
rubber feet in a safe place.
You might need them in
the future.
Einbau: 1. Schritt
Füße entfernen
Entfernen Sie alle Füße des Geräts.
1. Platzieren Sie das Gerät kopfüber
auf eine feste Auflage.
2. Hebeln Sie mit einem kleinen
Schlitzschraubenzieher den Stift
aus dem Fuß heraus.
Der Fuß löst sich automatisch.
3. Wiederholen Sie Schritt 2 mit
allen anderen Füßen.
4. Drehen Sie das Gerät wieder
herum.
Wichtig:
Bewahren Sie Stifte und
Füße für einen
eventuellen zukünftigen
Einsatz gut auf.

Separate rails and mounting
brackets
Remove the rails (a) from the
mounting brackets (b).
Einbau: 2. Schritt
Schienen und Lochwinkel trennen
Nehmen Sie die Schienen (a) aus den
Lochwinkeln (b) heraus.

Installation: Step 3
Attaching the rails to the device
Attach the rails (a) with 2 screws (e)
each to the device. The rail end with
the four holes must point to the front
of the device.
1. Slide the outer rail backwards so
that the inner rail is accessible.
2. Position the inner rail in such a
way that its first hole is aligned
with the first hole of the device. At
the back, the rail protrudes
beyond the device.
3. Attach the aligned rail to the
device with one screw (e) in the
front.
4. Slide the outer rail forwards.
5. With a second screw (e), attach
the rail to the device at the back
where the holes align.
6. Repeat steps 1–5 with the second
rail on the other side of the
device.
Einbau: 3. Schritt
Schienen mit dem Gerät verbinden
Befestigen Sie die Schienen (a) mit
jeweils 2 Schrauben (e) am Gerät. Das
Schienenende mit den vier Löchern
muss dabei zur Vorderseite des
Gerätes zeigen.
1. Verschieben Sie die äußere
Schiene nach hinten, sodass die
innere Schiene zugänglich ist.
2. Richten Sie die innere Schiene mit
dem ersten Loch an der vorderen
Bohrung im Gerät aus.
Hinten ragt die Schiene über das
Gerät hinaus.
3. Fixieren Sie die ausgerichtete
Schiene mit einer Schraube (e)
vorne am Gerät.
4. Schieben Sie die äußere Schiene
nach vorne.
5. Fixieren Sie die Schiene mit einer
weiteren Schraube (e) hinten am
Gerät, wo Loch und Bohrung
deckungsgleich übereinander
liegen.
6. Wiederholen Sie die Schritte 1–5
mit der zweiten Schiene auf der
anderen Seite des Gerätes.

Attaching the mounting brackets
to the rails
Attach the mounting brackets (b) to
the rails (a).
1. Position the mounting bracket (b)
on top of the rail (a).
The end with the bracket must
point to the front of the device
and the bracket must face away
from it. The two small holes in the
mounting bracket align with the
two small holes in the rail.
2. Attach the mounting bracket (b)
to the rail (a) with two screws (e).
3. Repeat steps 1–2 with the second
mounting bracket (b).
Einbau: 4. Schritt
Lochwinkel mit Schiene verbinden
Befestigen Sie die Lochwinkel (b) an
den Schienen (a).
1. Positionieren Sie den Lochwinkel
(b) über der Schiene (a).
2. Das abgewinkelte Ende muss zur
Vorderseite und die Flügel vom
myUTN-800 weg zeigen. Die zwei
kleinen Montagelöcher im Winkel
entsprechen den zwei kleinen
Montagelöchern in der Schiene.
3. Fixieren Sie den Lochwinkel (b) an
der Schiene (a) mit zwei
Schrauben (e).
4. Wiederholen Sie die Schritte 1–2
mit dem zweiten Lochwinkel (b).

Attaching the cross-beam
Attach the cross-beam (d) to the back
ends of the mounting brackets (b).
1. Insert the cross-beam (d) with its
brackets facing downwards
between the mounting brackets
(b) from behind.
2. Attach the cross-beam (d) to the
mounting brackets (b) with two
screws (e) on each side.
Einbau: 5. Schritt
Querstrebe anbringen
Befestigen Sie die Querstrebe (d) an
den hinteren Enden der Lochwinkel
(b).
1. Schieben Sie die Querstrebe (d)
mit den Winkeln nach unten von
hinten zwischen die Lochwinkel
(b).
2. Fixieren Sie die Querstrebe (d) an
den Lochwinkeln (b) mit zwei
Schrauben (e) auf jeder Seite.

Installation: Step 6
Mounting the device in the rack
1. Insert the device at the desired
mounting position horizontally
into the rack.
2. Attach the device with the
mounting brackets on both sides
2 x to the rack.
Important:
Fasteners for mounting
the device in the rack are
not included in delivery.
Refer to the
documentation of your
rack to find out which
fasteners are required.
Einbau: 6. Schritt
Gerät in den Serverschrank
einbauen
Führen Sie das Gerät an der
gewünschten Einbauposition
waagerecht in den Serverschrank ein.
1. Befestigen Sie das Gerät an den
Lochwinkeln auf beiden Seiten
2 x am Serverschrank.
Wichtig:
Das Material zur
Befestigung im
Serverschrank ist nicht im
Lieferumfang enthalten.
Welches
Befestigungsmaterial Sie
benötigen entnehmen Sie
der Dokumentation zu
Ihrem Serverschrank.

Installation: Step 7
Connect the cords
1. Connect the network cables (RJ-
45) to the device.
2. Connect the power cords to the
device.
(Establish the power supply)
3. Use the cable fixture (c) included
in the package to provide a strain
relief for the power cords (see
figure below).
Attach the cable fixture to the device by
inserting its pin into the hole at the back
of the device.
The cable fixture
is releasable and
reusable: You can
open it by press-
ing down the tab
of the lock.
Einbau: 7. Schritt
Kabel anschließen
1. Verbinden Sie die Netzwerkkabel
(RJ-45) mit dem Gerät.
2. Verbinden Sie die Netzkabel mit
dem Gerät.
(Stromzufuhr herstellen)
3. Verwenden Sie die mitgelieferte
Kabelbefestigung (c), um eine
Zugentlastung für die Netzkabel
herzustellen (siehe Abbildung).
Befestigen Sie die Kabelbefestigung am
Gerät indem Sie sie mit der Nase in das
Loch auf der Rückseite des Geräts
stecken.
Die Kabelbefesti-
gung ist wieder-
lösbar und
wiederverwend-
bar: Zum Öffnen
drücken Sie den
Hebel am Ver-
schlussmechanis-
mus herunter.
