Introduction
The information in this manual covers the installation of the VM61514-5-MM and VM621-5-MM Monitor
Mounts. It also includes installation instructions for the V1501WM Wall Mounting Adapter and the V1502CA
Ceiling Mounting Adapter. These units should be installed by a qualified technician using approved materials.
Read these instructions through completely before attempting installation.
Vicon monitor mounts provide secure, attractive mounting for closed circuit television monitors. They are
finished in dark gray enamel and black anodized aluminum. They are intended for suspension from a wall or
ceiling position using either the V1501WM Wall Mounting Adapter or the V1502CA Ceiling Mounting Adapter,
respectively.
The VM61514-5-MM is used to mount the VM614-3 and VM615-5 monitors. The VM621-5-MM is designed
for the VM621-5 monitor. The monitor mounts include all the hardware required for installation.

Installation
Unpacking and Inspection
All Vicon equipment is tested and inspected before leaving the factory. It is the carrier’s responsibility to
deliver the equipment in the same condition as it left the factory.
Inspect the cartons upon delivery and, if damage is present, make detailed notes on the carrier’s bill. Then
obtain the carrier’s agent signature and file a damage claim as soon as possible.
Open the cartons and inspect the equipment for damage. Save the cartons and packing material. If damage
is present, contact the carrier and file a damage claim immediately. If the equipment must be returned for
repair, refer to the Shipping Instructions Section of this manual.
Mounting Kit Contents
Review the contents of the mounting kit. Refer to Table 1 Disregard any extra hardware that may be supplied.
A 3/8 nut driver, not supplied, is helpful.

Installing the V1501WM
The V1501WM is required for wall mounting the monitor mounts. Be sure the area behind the wall of the
selected location is clear of obstacles such as steel beams, headers, pipes, electrical wiring, etc. that would
interfere with the installation. To mount the V1501WM, proceed as follows.
1. Select a solid wall surface of concrete, masonry, reinforced wood frame or steel girder construction.
Caution: A single vertical stud in a wood frame wall is not adequate; there must be enough reinforced
wooden frame structure for all four mounting bolts to be seated.
2. In concrete or masonry, mount the V1501WM with 5/16-inch lag screws and lead anchors. In wood, drill
four (4) pilot holes of 7/32-inch diameter according to the mounting hole pattern on the mount and use
5/16 x 2-1/2 lag screws. Refer to Figure 1. In steel, drill 11/32-inch holes and use 5/16-inch machine
screws and nuts. Use lock washers in all cases.
3. Proceed with monitor mount installation. After assembling the monitor to the monitor mount, attach the
mount to the wall mount with the 1/2-inch bolt, washer, and lock washer supplied. The large neoprene
washer must be inserted around the 1/2-inch bolt between the monitor mount and the wall mount.

Installing the V1502CA
The V1502CA is required for mounting the monitor mounts to the ceiling. Be sure the area directly above the
selected location is clear of obstacles such as steel beams, headers, pipes, electrical wiring, etc. that would
interfere with the installation. The V1502CA consists of a flanged ceiling attachment and a mount coupling.
Both of these pieces are threaded with 1-1/2-inch tapered pipe thread. The customer must supply a threaded
section of 1-1/2-inch pipe of correct length for the installation. See Figure 2.
1. Screw the flanged ceiling attachment and the mount coupling to each end of the 1-1/2-inch pipe.
Caution: Since the assembled mount and monitor are heavy, the ceiling adapter must be mounted to a
solid, structurally sound surface. A single wooden ceiling joist is inadequate.
2. Fasten the flanged attachment to the ceiling with four (4) 5/16-inch bolts.
3. Proceed with monitor mount installation. After assembling the monitor to the monitor mount, attach the
mount to the ceiling adapter with the 1/2-inch bolt, washer, and lock washer supplied. The large neoprene
washer must be inserted around the 1/2-inch bolt between the monitor mount and the V1502CA. Refer to
Figure 2.

Installing the Monitor Mounts
The monitor mounting U-channels are taped to the sides or bottom of the unit for shipping. Remove the
channels.
Perform the following procedure. Refer to Figure 3.
1. Turn the monitor over on a clean work space.
2. Remove the four screws on the perimeter of the side plate on the monitor.
3. Identify the left and right brackets.
4. Position the bracket on the monitor so that the feet are nested in the two holes. Secure the bracket to the
monitor with the No. 7 x 1 inch screws, flat and lock washers (2 places).
5. Attach the lower mount section of the monitor mount to the bracket with the 3/8-16 screw, flat washer and
split lock washer. Using a nut driver (3/8) to tighten screw is suggested.
6. Repeat the procedure to install the second bracket on the other side of the monitor.

7. Adjust the width of the monitor mount by slightly loosening the top mount bolts and sliding the side arms
out far enough to accommodate the monitor. Do not retighten at this time.
8. To adjust the vertical opening, unscrew one of the pivot blocks (Figure 4) and remove the outer pivot
block half. The inner pivot block half is fitted with two pins that fit into corresponding holes on the insides
of the side arms. Determine an appropriate vertical opening and reassemble the pivot block at this
position. Repeat for the other pivot block.
9. Install monitor and bottom brackets on to the lower sections, as shown in Figure 4.
10. Assemble the monitor mount and monitor to either the V1501WM or V1502CA as described in those
installation instructions.
