General Safety Instructions for All Semak Products
Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.
Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.
The appliance should not be used by children or infirm persons and close
supervision is necessary when used near such persons.
Always switch off at power outlet before removing the plug. Remove by holding
the plug –do not pull the cord.
When the appliance is not in use, or prior to cleaning, always switch off the
power and remove the plug.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the plug, cord or any part of
the appliance in water or any other liquid.
Do not use near a stove or heat source and do not let the cord come in contact
with any hot surface.
Do not use the appliance with an extension cord unless that cord has been
checked and tested by a qualified technician or if it is an extension cord that has
been manufactured by a reliable electrical goods manufacturer and has not
been altered in any way.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the
appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in anyway. Return to
Semak or an authorised service agent for repair.
CAUTION Hot Surfaces.
NEVER leave the appliance ON unattended. ALWAYS unplug the percolator
after use.

Safety Instructions
1. Important notice: Ensure that the Coffee Percolators is switched off and that
the power supply is also switched off before connecting to the electric outlet.
Use only on AC 240V –50 Hz only.
2. To avoid risk of electric shock, do not immerse cord, plug or the appliance in
water or any other liquid. Never put the Coffee Percolators in a dishwasher.
3. Always switch off at the power outlet before removing the plug. Remove by
holding the plug - do not pull on the cord. When the appliance is not in use, or
prior to cleaning, always switch off the power and remove the plug.
4. The Coffee Percolators should not be used by children or infirm persons and
care should be taken when used near these persons. The Coffee Percolators
should not be used outdoors. Young children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
5. Never operate the Coffee Percolators without water in the vessel.
6. Do not use on the stove or let the cord come into contact with any hot surface.
7. Keep hands and utensils out of the vessel while using the Coffee Percolator to
prevent the possibility of severe injury to persons or damage to the unit.
Exercise extreme caution when filling and emptying the vessel being mindful
that it contains boiling water and the possibility of steam burns.
8. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the
appliance malfunctions, is dropped or damaged in any way. Return the
appliance to Dimark Commercial Pty. Ltd. or its Authorised Service Agent for
repair. Do not attempt to repair the machine.
9. For Safety reasons and to avoid maintenance by unskilled persons, the
appliance should always be returned to Dimark Commercial Pty. Ltd. for
adjustment or repair if required.

Operating Instructions for the Semak Coffee Percolator
The Semak Coffee Percolator is designed to percolate large quantities of coffee for
large volume bistros, cafes.
1. Before connecting to electrical outlet, clean the inside of the Coffee Percolator,
the basket and the stem in hot soapy water to remove any residues from the
manufacturing process.
2. Ensure that the Coffee Percolators switch is in the OFF position and that the
power supply is also switched off before connecting to the electrical outlet.
3. Check that the tap is closed. Fill the vessel with cold fresh tap water, see
markings on the side of the stem and fill to the desired number of cups.
4. Important! Ensure to fill with cold water as the brewing process is timed to
begin from a cold water start.
5. Wet coffee basket to keep small particles of coffee sifting through the basket.
Place desired amount of ground coffee in basket and place on the pump stem.
The following chart suggests the amount of coffee to use in a regular brew in
the hundred cup coffee percolator. The amount of coffee may be varied to suit
personal taste: for milder brew, use less, for stronger brew, use more.

Use standard measuring cups
1. Place the lid on the coffee percolator and plug the cord into the nearest power
socket, switch on and allow the coffee maker to brew the contents of the
vessel. When the process is complete, the ready light will come on and stay on,
immediately remove lid and take out the basket and stem to stop bitter oils
from dripping from the ground coffee affecting the flavour of the coffee, refit
lid and contents will remain hot until unit is empty.
2. Do not boil dry. When level of brewed coffee can no longer be seen in glass
gauge tube, switch unit off and rinse out in readiness for the next brewing
process.

Cleaning Instructions for the Semak Coffee Percolator
If the percolator is used daily, it is recommended that the unit be cleaned once a
month by scouring the heating element, stem and basket with a nylon scouring pad.
Clean the gauge tube by removing the top cap and remove the glass tube then insert
brush supplied and scrub in hot soapy water. Clean the tap by unscrewing the top cap
and cleaning away the built up residue. Clean the outside of the percolator with a
good stainless steel cleaner and polish with a dry cloth.
Service & Maintenance
The Semak Coffee Percolator does not contain user-serviceable parts. For Service and
Repair, contact Semak for your nearest Authorised Service Agent.
The Foodservice Industry is deemed a hostile environment within the scope of
AS/NZS 3760:2003. Semak Coffee Percolator MUST be routinely electrically tested for
compliance with this standard if used commercially.
It is recommended that a Food Safety program such as HACCP be employed and that
routine service and repair be undertaken at the time of electrical testing to ensure
the correct operation and function of all parts.

Semak Coffee Percolators comply with the following electrical standards

Warranty
The Semak Coffee Percolator is a Commercial appliance. This product is guaranteed
for 2 Years from the date of purchase against mechanical and electrical defects. If the
fault is deemed caused by MISUSE/ABUSE the terms of the warranty are invalidated.
If the product has been opened or tampered with (ie. In an attempt to repair it) the
warranty is invalidated. All warranty repairs should be undertaken by Dimark
Commercial Pty. Ltd.
It is against company policy to authorize warranty repairs over the phone. Service
Agents will require a work order number from Semak to conduct warranty repairs.

SEMAKWARRANTY
THIS WARRANTY APPLIES ONLY TO PRODUCTS MANUFACTURED AND SOLD IN AUSTRALIA
The benefits conferred by this warranty are an alternative to all other rights and remedies
in respect of the product which the consumer has under the Trade Practices Act and similar
State and Territory Laws.
Semak Australia. Warrant each new SEMAK appliance manufactured by SEMAK to be free
from defects in materials or manufacturing process for a period of 2 Years from the date of
original purchase.
Should defects due to faulty materials or manufacturing process develop within the
warranty period, the appliance will be repaired without charge providing all conditions of
this warranty are observed.
1. Proof of Purchase and Warranty card must be retained and available on request.
2. This Warranty is void if the equipment has been damaged due to misuses neglect or is
used for a purpose for which it was not suited; and no repairs, alterations or
modifications have been attempted by other than Semak or its authorised Service
Agent.
3. Semak Australia. Reserves the right to reject a claim for warranty if service is required
due to misapplication, improper installation, inadequate wiring, and incorrect voltage
conditions. Under no circumstances shall SEMAK or its agents bear responsibility for
consequential damages of any kind.
4. Where required by Statute or local authority, equipment must be installed by qualified
person in accordance with all relevant regulations. Failure to do this will void product
warranty.
5. Cost of transport of any appliance or part to and from SEMAK or its Service Agent is to
be paid by the owner.
6. A charge will be made where failure is due to neglect, abuse or accidental damage on
the part of the operator, or when no fault can be found or the fault is due to causes
outside the control of Semak Australia.
7. The above does not preclude the purchaser from their Statutory rights as a consumer.
