READ AND SAVE THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING THIS HUMIDIFIER
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
1. Always place this humidifier on a firm, flat and level surface. This humidifier may
not work properly on an uneven surface.
2. Place this humidifier in an area where it is not accessible to children. This
product is not a toy. Keep out of reach of children.
3. Do not place the humidifier near any heat sources such as stoves, radiators, and
heaters.
4. Before using the humidifier, check the power cord for any signs of damage. If the
cord is found to be damaged, DO NOT USE and return the humidifier to the manu-
facturer under the warranty agreement for repair.
5. This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce
the risk of shock, this plug is intended to fit only one way in a polarized outlet. If
the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, con-
tact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to defeat this safety feature.
6. To disconnect the humidifier, first turn controls to the OFF position, then grip the
plug and pull it from the wall outlet. Never pull by the cord.
7. A loose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating
and a distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or
worn outlet.
8. The humidifier should always be unplugged and emptied when not in operation
or while being serviced or cleaned.
9. Never tilt or attempt to move the humidifier while it is operating or filled with
water. UNPLUG the humidifier before moving.
10. This humidifier requires regular cleaning. Refer to the CLEANING instructions
provided. Never clean the humidifier in any manner other than as instructed in
this manual.
11. Turn the humidifier OFF if you notice moisture on the inside of your windows. For
proper humidity reading use a hygrometer, which is available in many hardware
and department stores.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing a Sesame Street Humidifier.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Dry air is pulled through the system and a quiet fan blows out invisible, moisture-
balanced air. Unwanted minerals and bacteria from the water are trapped inside the
filter. When the unit is running you will not see or feel a “mist”. You will know your
humidifier is putting moisture into the air as you watch the water level in your tank
decrease throughout the day.

SET UP
NOTE: WE RECOMMEND THAT THE HUMIDIFIER BE DISINFECTED PRIOR TO FIRST
USE. PLEASE SEE CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS.
• Select a firm, level, flat location - at least six inches (15 cm) from any wall for
proper air flow (Fig. 1). Place the humidifier on a water-resistant surface, as
water can damage furniture and some flooring.
The manufacturer will not accept responsibility for property damage caused by
water spillage.
• Remove the water tank by grasping handle and
pulling straight up. Set aside (Fig. 1).
• Remove the Filter from the base before filling the
unit with water (Fig. 2). Soak filter in a sink full of
cool water to help reduce mineral build up and
place back in the humidifier while wet. DO NOT
SQUEEZE OR WRING OUT THE FILTER.
To help extend the life of your filter repeat this step
each time you fill your humidifier.
• Turn the Water Tank upside down so that the Fill
Cap is facing up; unscrew the Fill Cap by turning it
counter-clockwise and set aside.
• Fill the Water Tank with COOL tap water (Fig. 3).
Distilled water is not necessary as the water is fil-
tered by the Filter. DO NOT USE HOT WATER. Doing
so may damage the humidifier.
• Replace the fill cap by turning it clockwise .
DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. Turn the Water Tank right-
side up.
NOTE: WHEN CARRYING THE FILLED WATER TANK
PLEASE USE THE HANDLE AND PLACE YOUR OTHER
HAND UNDER THE TANK FOR ADDITIONAL SUPPORT.

• Position the Water Tank in the humidifier and push into place. Some water will
empty into the base.
• Once the filled tank has been positioned, do not attempt to move the humidifier. If
it has to be moved, unplug the humidifier and remove the water tank first.
CAUTION: DO NOT POUR WATER INTO THE GRILLE ON THE POWER BASE.
DOING SO MAY DAMAGE THE HUMIDIFIER OR CAUSE PERSONAL INJURY.

CAUTION: DO NOT PLUG IN THE HUMIDIFIER WITH WET HANDS AS AN ELECTRI-
CAL SHOCK COULD OCCUR.
• With the power switch in the OFF position, plug the filled humidifier into a
polarized 120V outlet. DO NOT FORCE THE POLARIZED PLUG INTO THE OUTLET;
it will only fit one way.
HUMIDITY CONTROL
• Set the fan speed CONTROL to the desired position
(Fig. 4). HIGH: For fast humidifying NORMAL: For quieter
operation
NOTE: THE LENGTH OF TIME YOUR HUMIDIFIER RUNS
WILL VARY DEPENDING ON THE QUALITY OF CONSTRUC-
TION, ROOM SIZE, AND INSULATION OF YOUR ROOM AND
HOUSE, AS WELL AS THE FAN SPEED AND HUMIDITY IN
THE AIR.
• Turn the humidifier OFF if the humidity level feels too moist or you notice conden-
sation forming on the walls and/or windows.
• ALWAYS be sure to empty any unused water in the Removable Tray and/or Water
Tank each time you refill the water tank or finish using the humidifier.

WEEKLY CLEANING
STEP ONE:
SCALE REMOVAL
REMOVABLE TRAY
1. Fill the Removable Tray with:
• 1 cup (8 ozs.) of undiluted white vine-
gar
2. Let solution stand for 20 minutes.
3. With the vinegar in the Removable
Tray, clean all interior surfaces with a
soft cloth or brush to help remove scale.
4. Rinse thoroughly with water to
remove scale and cleaning solution.
STEP TWO:
DISINFECTING
Water Tank/Removable TRAY
1. Fill the Water Tank with:
• 1 teaspoon of household bleach and
• 1 gallon of water
Pour some of this solution into the Tray.
2. Let solution stand for 20 minutes.
3. Rinse with water until the odor of
bleach is gone.
We recommend cleaning the humidifier once a week, more often if you have hard
water, notice a build up of impurities or detect unpleasant odors.
Cleaning involves two steps: SCALE REMOVAL and DISINFECTING. Be sure to
perform these in the proper order to avoid harmful chemical interactions.
• First, turn off and unplug the humidifier.
• Remove the Water Tank.
•Remove the Filter from the Base.
• Empty any water from the Base.
NOTE: REMOVE FILTER BEFORE CLEANING.
Failure to remove filter during cleaning will destroy the filter.
NOTE: THE USE OF OTHER WATER TREATMENT PRODUCTS AND CHEMICALS MAY
CAUSE DETERIORATION OF THE FILTER OR DAMAGE THE HUMIDIFIER, THEREBY
HINDERING THE HUMIDIFIER’S EFFECTIVENESS.

NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN THE FILTER WITH ANY CHEMICAL SOLUTIONS,
DOING SO WILL DAMAGE THE FILTER.
• It is normal for a filter to discolor from mineral build-up. This will vary depending
on water quality.
• DO NOT clean the filter using any chemical solution.
• If a filter appears to be clogged by hard water or mineral deposits, soak it in a
sink full of cool water for 10 minutes. DO NOT SQUEEZE OR WRING OUT THE
FILTER. Always place filter back in the humidifier wet.
• Be sure to empty water from the water tank and base when not in use.
PROLONGING THE LIFE OF THE FILTER AND
MAINTAINING A CLEAN HUMIDIFIER
END-OF-THE-SEASON CARE AND STORAGE
• Follow weekly CLEANING instructions when the humidifier will not be used for at
least one week or more, or at the end of the season.
• At the end of the season, remove and throw away the filter; do not store with a
used filter.
• Dry the humidifier completely before storing. Do not store with water inside the
base, water tank, or removable tray.
• Pack the unit in its original carton and store in a cool, dry location.
• Before next use, remember to install a new filter and clean the humidifier.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
Q: I hear the fan turning, but I don’t see any mist. Is my humidifier operating
properly?
A: Dry air is pulled through the system and a fan disperses invisible, moisture
balanced air. There is no “mist” emitted. When operating normally you will feel
only cool air coming from the unit. Monitor the water level in your tank/ base. If
you notice a decrease in the water tank over 24 hours then the unit is operating
normally.
Q: My unit has been running for several hours. I hear the fan spinning, but I do not
notice the water level in the tank decreasing.
A: First, check the filter to be sure it is wet. If the filter appears dry, remove it from
the base and gently rinse under cool water. Reposition wet filter in the base. You
may also want to note the current moisture level in your home. If the humidity
level is over 60% the unit will not put out much moisture as your air is already
saturated.
Q: My filter has turned light brown and rust colored. Do I need a new filter?
A: Probably not. The change in color indicates only a mineral deposit. Soak the
Filter in a sink full of cool water to help break up deposits. The discoloration may
remain but will not affect the humidifier’s performance.

TO OPEN OR REPAIR THE HUMIDIFIER YOURSELF. DOING SO WILL VOID THE WAR-
RANTY AND COULD CAUSE DAMAGE OR PERSONAL INJURY. IF THE PROBLEM

Debería seguir precauciones básicas de seguridad cuando se use artefactos eléctri-
cos para reducir el riesgo de incendio, choques eléctricos, y lesiones personales,
incluyendo las siguientes:
1. Siempre coloque este humedecedor en una superficie firme y plana. Es posible
que no lo funcionara propiamente en una superficie sin uniformidad.
2. Guarde este humedecedor en un sitio fuera del alcance de niños.
3. No coloque el humedecedor cerca de fuentes de calefacción tales como estu-
fas, radiadores o calentadores.
4. Antes de usar el humedecedor, verifique que el cable está libre de avería. Si el

Gracias por comprar un Humedecedor Sesame Workshop
¿COMO FUNCIONA?
Aire seco está aspirado por este sistema y un ventilador de poco ruido expele y
difunde aire de humedad equilibrado y invisible. El Filtro atrapa los minerales y bac-
terias no deseados. Cuando la unidad esté en operación no verá o sentirá un
"vapor". Usted sabrá que el humedecedor está emitiendo humedad por el aire cuan-
do se le de cuenta de que el nivel de agua está bajándo a lo largo del día.

• Seleccione un espacio firme y plano – cuando menos seis pulgadas (15 cm) de
cualquier pared para permitir la circulación propia de aire (Fig 1). Coloque el
humedecedor encima de una superficie resistente al agua, ya que el agua podría
hacer daño a los muebles y a algunos tipos de alfombrados.
El Fabricante no sea responsable de daños al propiedad causados por el derra-
mamiento de agua.
• Saque el tanque de agua por tomar el manubrio y
levantar derecho. Ahórrelo al lado. (Fig 1).
• Saque el Filtro de la base antes de llenar la unidad
de agua. (Fig. 2) Empape el filtro en un fregadero
de agua fresca para ayudar en reducir la acumu-
lación de minerales y después, vuelva a ponerlo en
el humedecedor mientras esté mojado. NO ESTRU-
JE EL FILTRO. Para ayudar en extender la vida del
filtro, repita esta etapa cada vez que llene el
humedecedor.
• Gire el Tanque de agua patas arriba, de modo que el
Tapón de llenado está cara arriba; destornille el
Tapón de llenado por girarla en el sentido contrário
de las manecillas del reloj y guárdelo al lado.
• Llene el Tanque de agua con agua FRESCA del llave
(Fig 3). No es necesario usar agua destilada ya que
la agua está filtrada por el Filtro. NO USE AGUA
CALIENTE. Hacerlo así podría dañar el humedece-
dor.
• Vuelva a poner el tapón de llenado y gírelo en el
sentido de las manecillas del reloj . NO
APRIÉTELO DEMASIADO. Vuelva a girar el Tanque
de agua hasta su posición derecha.
NOTA: SÍRVASE USAR EL MANUBRIO MIENTRAS LLE-
VAR EL TANQUE DE AGUA LLENADO Y PARA PROVEER
MÁS APOYO, PÓNGASE EL OTRO MANO POR DEBAJO
DEL TANQUE.

ALIMENTACIÓN
ATENCIÓN: NO ENCHUFE EL HUMEDECEDOR MIENTRAS LOS MANOS ESTÁN
MOJADOS, YA QUE PODRÍAN OCASIONAR CHOQUES ELÉCTRICOS.
• Con el selector interruptor en la posición de OFF (APAGADO), enchufe el humede-
cedor llenado en un tomacorriente polarizado de 120V. NO INTRODUZCA EL
ENCHUFE EN EL TOMACORRIENTE CON FUERZA; podrá introducirse en un sólo
sentido.
REGULACIÓN DE HUMEDAD
• Fije el regulador de la velocidad del ventilador hasta la
posición deseada (Fig. 4). ALTA: Para un humedec-
imiento rápido REGULAR: Para un funcionamiento más
quieto
NOTA: LA DURACIÓN DE TIEMPO QUE FUNCIONARA EL
HUMEDECEDOR VARIARÁ SEGÚN LA CALIDAD DE LA
CONSTRUCCIÓN, INSULACIÓN, Y TAMAÑO DE LA
HABITACIÓN Y CASA, Y TAMBIÉN SEGÚN LA VELOCIDAD DEL VENTILADOR.
• Apague el humedecedor si el nivel de humedad siente demasiado húmedo o si le da cuenta
de la formación de condensación en las paredes y/o las ventanas.
• Cerciórese SIEMPRE vaciar cualquier agua no usado que queda en la Bandeja y/o en el
Tanque de agua cada vez que rellene el tanque de agua o acabe de usar el humedecedor.

• Posicione el Tanque de agua en el humedecedor y empújelo en su lugar apropia-
do. Alguna agua entrará por dentro de la base.
• Una vez que haya estado posicionado el tanque llenado, no trate de mover el
humedecedor. Si hay que moverlo, enchufe el humedecedor y saque el tanque
de agua primero.
ATENCIÓN: NO VIERTA AGUA POR DENTRO DE LA REJA QUE ESTÁ UBICADA EN LA
BASE DE ALIMENTACIÓN. HACERLO ASÍ PODRÍA DAÑAR EL HUMEDECEDOR O
RESULTAR EN LESIONES PERSONALES.

trapo muelle o si es necesario, use un
cepillo para ayudar en quitar la escama.
4. Lave por completo con agua para
remover la escama y solución limpiadora.
ETAPA N° 2:
EL DESINFECTAR
TANQUE DE AGUA/BANDEJA
1. Llene el Tanque de Agua con:
•una cucharilla de cloro y
•un galón de agua.
Vierta un poco de la solución por dentro de la
Bandeja
2. Deje la solución al lado por un tiempo de
20 minutos,
3. Límpielos con agua hasta que haya quitado
el olor de cloro.
Le recomendamos que limpie el humedecedor una vez a la semana, o más fre-
cuentemente si la agua suya está cruda, o si le da cuenta de una acumulación de
impurezas o de olores desagradables.
La limpieza incluye dos etapas: LA ELIMINACIÓN DE ESCAMAS y EL DESINFECTAR.
Asegúrese que haga las etapas en el orden correcto para evitar interacciones
químicas peligrosas.
• Al principio, apague y desenchufe el humedecedor.
• Saque el Tanque de Agua.
• Saque el Filtro de la Base.
• Vacie cualquiera agua que quede en la Base.
NOTA: SAQUE EL FILTRO ANTES DE LA LIMPIEZA
La falta de sacar el filtro durante la limpieza destruirá el filtro.

NOTA: NO TRATE DE LIMPIAR EL FILTRO CON NINGUNAS SOLUCIONES QUÍMICAS;
HACERLO ASÍ DAÑARÁ EL FILTRO.
• El filtro podría descolorarse por causa de la acumulación de minerales. Esto es
normal. También variará según la calidad de agua que se use
• No limpie el filtro con ninguna solución química.
• Si el Filtro parece ser atorado por agua cruda o depósitos minerales, empápelo
en un fregadero llenado de agua fresca por un tiempo de diez minutos. NO
ESTRUJE EL FILTRO. Siempre vuelva el filtro en el humecedor mientras esté
mojado.
• Cerciórese que vacie toda la agua del Tanque de Agua y del Base cuando el
humedecedor no esté de uso.
PROLONGAR LA VIDA DEL FILTRO Y CÓMO MANTENER LIMPIO EL
HUMEDECEDOR
CUIDADO Y ALMACENAMIENTO AL FIN DE TEMPORADA
• Sigue las instrucciones semanales de LIMPIEZA al fin de la temporada de
humedecimiento o cuando no vaya a usar el humedecedor por un tiempo más de
una semana.
• Al fin de temporada, saque el filtro y bótelo; no lo almacene con un filtro usado
• Seque el humedecedor completamente antes de almacenarlo. No almacene la
unidad mientras que quede agua por dentro de la Base, en el Tanque de agua, ni
en la Bandeja.
• Ponga la unidad en el empaque original y almacénelo en un lugar seco y fresco.
• Recuérdese de limpiar el humedecedor al comienzo de la próxima temporada y
instale un filtro nuevo.

SOLUCIÓN DE PROBLEMAS
P: Yo oigo hilar el ventilador, pero no veo ningún vapor. Está funcionando propia-
mente el humedecedor?
R: Aire seco está sacado por dentro del sistema y un ventilador dispersa aire de
humedad equilibrado invisible. No debería emitir ningún vapor. Cuando la
unidad está funcionando propiamente, se sentirá sólo aire fresco emitando de la
unidad. Revise el nivel de agua en el Tanque/la Base. Si le da cuenta de una
dismunición de agua en el Tanque durante un tiempo de 24 horas, pues, la unidad
está funcionando propiamente.
P: La unidad mía ha sido en operación por várias horas. Yo oigo hilar el venti-
lador, pero me parece que el nivel de agua en el tanque no está bajando.
R: Al principio, verifique que esté mojado el Filtro. Si se lo parece seco, sáquelo de
la Base y límpielo suavemente debajo de agua fresca. Vuelva a posicionar el fil-
tro mojado en la Base. También pudiera notar el nivel de humedad actual en la
casa. Si el nivel de humedad supera por más de 60% la unidad no emitirá mucho
humedad porque el aire ya está saturado.
P: El filtro mío ha llegado a ser el color rojizo y castaño claro. Es que necesito
otro nuevo?
R: Probable que no. El cambio de color solamente significa un depósito de min-
erales. Empape el filtro en un fregadero lleno de agua fresca para ayudar con la
desintegración de los depósitos. Es posible que quedara el descoloramiento,
pero eso no afectará el rendimiento del humedecedor.
NOTA: SI SE REALIZA UN PROBLEMA CON LA UNIDAD DE POTENCIA DE SU
HUMEDECEDOR, SÍRVASE VER LA GARANTÍA PARA INSTRUCCIONES. LE ROG-
AMOS QUE NO TRATE DE ABRIR O REPARAR EL HUMEDECEDOR POR USTED
MISMO. HACERLO ASÍ PODRÍA ANULAR LA GARANTÍA Y PODRÍA CAUSAR DAÑO O
LESIONES PERSONALES. SI PERSISTE EL PROBLEMA, SÍRVASE CONTACTAR EL

C. Esta garantía no cubre daños oca-
sionados por tentativas no autorizadas
de reparar el producto o del uso del
mismo en contravención de las indica-
ciones que aparecen en el manual de
instrucciones.
D. Los productos defectosos deberan
devolverse a Kaz Home Environment
acompanados de una descripcion breve
del problema. Incluya una pruebra de la
compra y un cheque o una orden de
pago por $10.00 USD/$15.50 CAN para
cubrir los gastos de manejo, empaque y
despacho. Sírvase incluir su nombre,
dirección y un número de teléfono de
contacto durante el dia. Los gastos de
