NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital

This equipment generates uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and
used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a installation. If this equipment
does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by
turningtheequipmentoandon,theuserisencouragedtotrytocorrectthe
interference by one or more of the following measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
Connecttheequipmentintoanoutletonacircuitdierentfromthattowhichthereceiveris

FCC Radiation Exposure Statement
ThisequipmentcomplieswithFCCradiationexposurelimitssetforthforanuncontrolled
environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with minimum distance 20cm
between the radiator & your body.
Tips & Troubleshooting
The LED Light won’t come on:
Charge SS-1 Controller using the Shadowspec Charger. Please note that the
SS-1 will shut down if the battery discharge below a minimum threshold; this
protects the battery from permanent damage. Please charge to revive.
Tip: The Shadowspec Mobile Application shows the battery status. (The App will not
detect the device if the battery is fully discharged.)
The Battery is charged but Light is no longer working:
Ensure the LED light is fully plugged into the SS-1 Controller.
Complete a manual switching by pushing the button on the back of the SS-1
Controller unit.
Tip: Hold the button for 10 seconds to reset the SS-1 Controller.
Mobile Application won’t detect the device:
Unit is fully discharged and not in Stand-by mode.
Tip: The default factory password word Shadowspec devices are “12345678”

Get to know your SS-1 Smart Battery
Warning:
1. Only use the Shadowspec Charging Adapter to charge the Shadowspec
SS-1 Bluetooth LED Controller.
2. DonotChargetheSS-1ControllerwhenitisttedtotheUmbrella.(Always
use the AC powered chargers indoors and in a dry, safe environment)
3. Do not puncture the SS-1 Controller (it contains a Lithium Ion Battery).
4. Do not store the SS-1 Controller on the Umbrella when not in use.
Function Button / Battery Status Light
The Function Push Button also serves as a pilot light indicating battery and /
or charging status. The LED light can be operated by pushing this button or via
our Shadowspec Mobile Application for Android™ devices. Please download
from the Google Play Store.
Button function:
Push once - Light on - 100% full power (brightness).
Push again - Light on - 50% full power (brightness).
Push again -Lighto (stand-by mode to accept Bluetooth commands).
Battery status light function:
Red Light on - Unit charging.
Green Light on - Unit charged.
Red Light ashing - Battery requires charging.

1. Slide the fully charged SS-1 Controller onto the main umbrella spar at the
LED-light end.
2. Plug the LED light into the SS-1 Controller (Push in all the way, ensuring a
waterproof connection)
3. Remove the SS-1 Controller by sliding it back to release the hooks from the
key-slots. (See the Android Application manual for software installation and
Bluetooth controller pairing.)

The Shadowspec Google Play App allows you to control your Shadowspec LED
light via Bluetooth using your Android mobile device.
Multiple Umbrella lights can be stored in memory allowing control over
switching and dimming the light to create the desired ambience. (Note: only one
device can be controlled at any given time. Scrolling and pairing between devices will
allow for separate control)
The App allows password setup, custom device naming, a battery status monitor
as well as a handy timer for switching the LED lights. (Tip: Factory device password
is “12345678” – please feel free to change this at any time).
