9” PORTABLE DVD AND TABLET COMBO

IMPORANT: This item may arrive with little to no battery power. Therefore, it may not have
enough power to boot up immediately after unboxing. We recommend plugging it into an
AC outlet for 5 minutes to obtain the minimum power needed to boot up. Leave the device
plugged in to charge the internal battery. A full charge takes approximately 5 hours. Unplug
the device when it is 100% charged.
INTRODUCTION
The 9” Portable DVD and Tablet Combo is a versatile device that provides virtually unlimited
entertainment possibilities for home, business and travel. Think of it as a fully functional
touchscreen tablet with a built-in DVD player and dual built-in speakers. You can use it to
watch DVDs, play CDs, surf the Internet, check email, watch YouTube and much more.

IDENTIFICATION OF PARTS
A. Lid Lock: Opens the DVD loader.
B. Easel Stand: Pops out for hands-free viewing.
C. Microphone: For recording purposes.
D. Power Button: Long press to power up / power down / restart the device. Short press to
enter/exit standby mode and conserve battery power.
E. Volume +: Press to increase volume.
F. Volume -: Press to decrease volume.
G. USB Port: For Power supply and connecting to your PC (additional cable may be required).
H. MicroSD Card Slot: Insert memory card for extra storage (card not included).
I. 3.5mm Headphone Jack: Connect your headphones, earbuds or external speakers (not
included).
J. System Reset Button: In the unlikely event of a system malfunction, insert a thin object
(such as a paperclip) and press for 2-3 seconds. The power will turn off and the device will
reset itself.
GETTING STARTED
1. Slide the Lid Lock to the side to unlock the DVD lid. Place your DVD or CD onto the spindle
and close the lid gently. It will close with a click.
2. Flip out the Easel Stand on the back and place the device standing upright.
3. Press and hold the Power Button (2-3 seconds) to boot up the device. The clock screen
will be displayed.
4. Swipe up to go to the Home Page screen. This screen will display commonly used apps,
such as the Google Chrome browser.
5. Swipe up again to get to the Apps page. This page displays all the device’s apps and
controls, including the DVD Player app.
6. Tap the DVD Player icon to launch DVD mode. Please allow a few seconds for your DVD to
load.
Tap the screen to access the DVD player controls (Play, Pause, Arrow Keys, Menus, Fast
Forward, Rewind, etc.).

I. A-B repeat (allows you to play back a specific section repeatedly by setting the start point “A”
and end point “B” for that section)

NOTE: Subtitles, alternate audio tracks and multi-angles are not available on all DVDs. Check
your DVD package to see if they are available on your chosen DVD. This device does not play
Blu-ray discs.
SIGNING ONTO THE INTERNET
Tap Settings icon, then select Network & Internet. Select your home Wi-Fi account and enter
your password.
Once you are connected to the Internet, you can log in and use your Google account, Gmail,
YouTube and other apps. The clock will reset to the correct time.
TIP: Select the Display menu to control the Auto Sleep mode. (The default is set to 1 minute.)
Select the Sound menu to control the overall media volume and notification sounds.

MIRROR CAST CONNECTION:
1. This unit can only be used to output signal to external device.
2. Make sure both the unit and the external device is connected to the same Wi-Fi or
hotspot.
3. Turn Mirror Cast on from the external device.
4. Mirror Cast connection setting for this unit is as below: Settings -->Connected
devices--> Connection preferences-->Cast -->Tap the icon [ ] on right corner
to Enable wireless display--> You can find the external device name-->Click the
external device name--> The external device will show connection info “DECLINE” or
“ACCEPT”-->Click “ACCEPT” to connect.

RECHARGEABLE BATTERY USE
• This device utilizes long-life Lithium-ion battery for portable power supply
• The battery has no memory effect and can be recharged safely regardless whether it’s
fully or partially discharged
• Do not charge longer than 5 hours each time
• A fully recharged battery can last up to 2.5 hours for DVD play and up to 4 hours for
internet surfing (when system brightness and volume are set at medium]
• Press the power button to see the charging status while the device is connected and
charging
NOTE:
• As soon as low power is indicated on the screen while operating, recharge the battery
immediately to avoid the inconvenience of a sudden shutdown
• The normal working temperature is: 0°F - 140°F
• Always unplug the AC adapter/DC adapter from the device when not in use
• The device will get warm when used continuously. This is normal. Avoid leaving the
device unattended for long periods of time
• Avoid collisions and keep away from excessive heat
SAFETY PRECAUTION
Warning: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this apparatus to rain
or moisture.
1. Please read the instruction manual carefully and follow all the requirements of safe
operation to operate the device.
2. Do not use or leave the device in direct sunlight or a hot environment such as a
vehicle etc. that is in hot environment. Overheating can damage the device.
3. Do not overcharge the device. Do not leave the device on the charger for very long
after the battery has been fully charged.
4. Do not drop the device.

5. Only use the factory supplied charger. The use of unapproved charger or cable may
cause the battery to fail, explode and/or damage the device.
6. Do not disassemble, puncture, crush or expose your device to temperatures above
40ºC / 104°F.
7. Keep the device away from fire or water.
8. Keep the device from moisture and extreme temperatures.
9. Should the battery swell or expand, please immediately discontinue use of your
device. It’s possible the device has overheated or overcharged. Contact Sharper Image
Customer Service for assistance.
10. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other
apparatus (including amplifiers] that produce heat.
11. Unplug this unit during lightning storms or when unused for a long time.
12. When cleaning, unplug the system. Use only wet cloth to clean. Do not use liquid
detergent or aerosol.
13. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel, servicing is required when the unit
has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid
has been spilled or objects have fallen into the unit, exposed to moisture, does not
operate normally. Don’t try to repair the machine by yourself because of the danger of
high voltage and electric shock.
14. Do not use irregular shaped discs such as heart or star-shaped discs as they may
cause the unit to malfunction. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules.

APPENDIX: HOW TO RESET THE DEVICE WHEN YOU FORGET YOUR
PASSWORD.
Step 1: Press and hold the “Power” key and “Volume+” about 1-2 minutes.
Step 2: You will see the below screen. Press “volume +” to choose “Recovery mode” and
press “volume-.”

Step 4: Press and hold “Power” and “volume+” about 2-3 seconds. You will see the
screens below. Press “volume+” to choose wipe data/factory reset and press the “Power”
key to confirm.
Step 5: See the screens below. Press “volume +” to choose yes and press the “Power” key
to confirm.

Step 6: Press “volume +” to choose wipe cache partition and press the “Power” key to
confirm.
Step 7: See the screens below. Press “volume+” to choose yes and press the “Power” key
to confirm.

Step 8: Choose “reboot system now,” and press the “Power” key to confirm.
Step 9: You will see the screen images below.

Step 10: After waiting for 5-6 minutes, you will see the screen image below.
NOTE: If you make a mistake during the reset process, please press the “Power” key to
start over.
