1. Remove the bridle
Holding the blade end of the reed
body and applying pressure to the
bridle it will slide to the end of the
reed body and will easily be
removed
2. Remove the damaged blade and discard
3. Replace with the new blade ensure that the
pen line is facing upwards
4. Replace the bridle, ensure that the groove
inside the bridle, covers the
locator that holds the blade in position
5. Position the bridle so that the line on the
blade is barely visible.
6. Bend the blade by sliding the card provided
with your SM 90’S
7. Adjust the strength of the reed by
“springing and flicking” the blade as shown .
Mouth blowing after each flick will act as a
guide to how severe you apply the “flicking”
Note, the blade will settle after the
initial flick and may require further
“flicking”
