Wrthtankcoverinanupsidedownposition,slidefoamsleevedownoverlidcagepullinguntilfoam
sleevecompletelycoverslidcage(Figure11). NOTE:Bottomoffoamsleevemustbepositioned
ontheOUTSIDEofgroovearoundlidcageforthereusabledryfiltertofitproper1y(Figure12,13).
Centerthereusabledryfilteronlidcage(Figure14),slidemountingringdownoverfilteruntilring
ispositionedagainsttheribsofthelidcage(Figure15).Thereusabledryfiltershouldalwaysbein
positionoverthefoamsleevefordrypickup.Toremovethefilterforcleaning,removemountingring
andfilterfromlidcage(Figure16).Tocleanthereusabledryfilter,shakeoffexcessdirtanddustor
(dependingontheconditionofthefilter)rinsewithwater.Allowthefiltertodrycompletelyandre-install.
DONOTMACHINEWASHORDRY.

INSTALLINGTHECARTRIDGEFILTER

Thecartridgefiltercanbeusedforwetordrypickup;installationisthe•-r-----,
sameforboth.Fordrypickupbesuretheopeningoftheinletdeflector
isfacingthetankbottom(Figure17).Usethecartridgefilterinposition
overthelidcageformostgeneraldrymaterialpickup. Withthetank
coverin an upsidedownposition,slidethecartridgefilterdownover
thelidcage,pushinguntilthefiltersealsagainstthecover(Figure18).
Placefilterretainerintothetopofthecartridgefilter,holdthetankcover
withonehand,turnthehandleonthefilterretainerclockwisetotighten,
lockingthefilterintoplace(Figures19& 20). Toremovethefilterforcleaning,againholdthe
tankcoverandturnthefilterretainercounter-clockwisetoloosenandremove,slidethecartridge
filteroffthelidcage(Figures21& 20). Tocleanthecartridgefiltershakeorbrushoffexcess
dirtorrinse(fromtheinsideofthefilter)withwater,drycompletely(approximately24hours)and
re-install.(Figures23& 24). Note:Ifthefilterhasbeenusedforwetpickup,itmustbecleaned
anddriedbeforeusingfordrypickup.

1. Usefordrypickuponly.Useinconjunctionwithcartridgefilterforpickingupsoot,cement,
plasterordrywalldust.
2. Withcorddisconnectedfromreceptacle,pulllatchesinanoutwardmotionandremovetankcover.
3. Unscrewhoselocking-nutandremovehosefrominlet(Figure25).
4. Removeinletdeflectorfromdeflectorguide(Figure26).NOTE:Hosemustberemovedbefore
inletdeflectorcan
betakenout.
5. Withtheopeningoftheinletdeflectorfacingthebottomofthefilterbag,slidecollectionbagcollar
overdeflectormatchingnotchesofbagcollartotabsoninletdeflector,bagwillonlyfitproperly
oneway(Figure
27).

dust,etc.)...ahighefficiencydrywallfilterbagmustbeused.Whenvacuumingnormalhouse-
holddustanddebris,standardhouseholddisposablefilterbagsmaybeused.These'largebag'
filtersconnecttotheairinletfittingontheinsideofthevacuumtank.

RemoveALLdirtanddebrisfoundinthetank.Thevacuumrequiresonlya
minimumofconversionwhengoingfromdrytowetpickup.Removealldry
usefiltersfromthevacuum.Acleancartridgefiltermaybeusedforvacuum-
ingsmallamountsofliquids.Forbestresultswhenvacuuminglargequanti-
tiesofliquid,removethecartridgefilter.Whenvacuumingliquidscontaining
debris,Itisrecommendedpurchasingafoamsleeveandinstalloverfilter
cage;
otheiwiseafoamsleeveisnotrequiredforwetpickup.Foamsleeve
andadditionalfiltersmaybepurchasedbyvisitingourwebsiteatwww.

atyourlocalShop-Vat®distributor.Removeinletdeflectorfromthedeflectorguideslidinginan
upwardmotion.NOTE:Hosemustberemovedbeforeinletdeflectorcanbetakenout.Reinstall
beingsuretheopeningoftheinletdeflectorislacingthetopofthetank(Rgure30),misting
mayoccurHinletdeflectorisnotinsertedproperly.MistinginexhaustairmayoccurHthefilter
becomessaturatedduringwetpickup.Ifmistingoccurs,removefilter
andallowtodryor,replace
withanotherdryfiltertoeliminatethemistingandpossibledrippingofliquidaroundthelid.Tum
theunitoffimmediatelyuponcompletingawetpickupjoborwhentankisfullandreadytobe
emptied.Raisethehosetodrainanyexcessliquidintothetank.Theinteriorofthetankshouldbe
periodicallycleaned.
Thefoamsleeveshouldbecleanedperiodicallyasdescribedinthefollowingsteps:
1. Alwaysdisconnecttheplugfromthewallreceptaclebeforeremovingthetankcover.Placetank
coverinanupsidedownposition.Removefoamsleevebyslidingit upandoffthelidcage.
NOTE:ForE87Smodelfilterretainermustberemovedfirst.
2. Shakeexcessdustofffoamsleevewitharapidupanddownmovement.
3. Holdfoamsleeveunderrunningwaterforaminuteortwo,rinsingfromtheinside.Awaterwash
isnotalwaysrequired,dependingontheconditionof
thefoamsleeve.
4. Gentlywringoutexcesswater,blotfoamsleevewithacleantowel,andallowtodry.Thefoam
sleeveisnowreadytobereinstalledonthelidcage.NOTE:ForE87Smodelfilterretainer
mustbeinstalled.
NOTE:WETPICK-UPACCESSORIESSHOULDBEWASHEDPERIODICALLY,ESPECIALLYAFTER
PICKINGUPWET,STICKYKITCHENACCIDENTS.THISCANBEACCOMPLISHEDWITHAWARM
SOLUTIONOFSOAPANDWATER.
BLOWERFEATURE
Thisvacuumcanbeusedasa powerfulblower.Touseyourunitasa
blowerunscrewblowerportcoverlocatedonthebacksideofthe motor
housing(Figure
31).Theblowerportcoverisequippedwitha retaining
straptopreventlossoftheportcoverwhileblowerisinuse.Clearhose
ofanyobstructionsbeforeattachingtoblowerport.Inserthoseend
with
locking-nutintoblowerportonrearofunitandtighten.Donotover-tighten.
Cautionshouldbeusedwhenusingasablowerduetothepowerfulforce
ofairwhenusingcertainattachments.
