Quick Start Guide
IMPORTANT: For best reception, place the base in a high central
location, away from other electrical de ices. The installation of
the base unit should allow at least 8-inches between the base and
persons to be in compliance with FCC RF exposure guidelines.
STEP 1 Base Station Setup
At the Base Station:
1Insert small plug on cord into phone
jack. Place cord in base cable
channel. Insert power supply unit
into wall outlet.
2Insert plug on telephone cord into
telephone jack on base unit (clicks
into place). Place cord in cable
channel on bottom of base. Insert
other end of plug into telephone
jack on wall. Bottom view of base

STEP 2 Handset Setup / Registration
IMPORTANT: Charge batteries 12 to 14 hours before using the
handset for the first time.
At the Han set:
1Remove protective plastic film from display.
2Insert batteries as shown.

and push gently upward until it clicks into
place.

If you subscribe to Caller ID from your local telphone company, complete the steps below. If
you do not subscribe to Caller ID, skip this section. To call back from the Call Log, you must
enter and store the Local Area Code for the area where your phone is installed. If your
phone is installed in an area with multiple area codes, you will also have to enter and store
the xtra Codes for that area.
Storing Local Area Code
1Open the Menu.
2Scroll to Base Settings and
press OK.
3Scroll to Area Codes and
press OK.
4Scroll to Local Area Code and
press OK.
5Enter your area code and press OK.
Storing Extra Area Codes
1Repeat steps 1 through 3 at left.
2Scroll to Extra Codes and press OK.
3To enter an extra area code, press
Menu.
4Enter an extra area code and press OK.
(Repeat steps 3 and 4 to enter add -
t onal area codes.)
or hear whos calling. The system recognizes up to 20 names and numbers from the
directory and up to four users may record the same name or number. Subscription to Caller
ID from your local telephone company is required.
VOICE-OPERATED CONTROLS
Recording a Voice Entry
1Open the Directory by pressing
Navi key on bottom D.
2Press Speech.
3Select user 1-4 and press OK.
4Scroll to New Entry and
press OK.
5Enter the telephone number.
6Scroll to the name field and
enter the name.
7Press ecord.
8Press Begin to start recording
and speak the name of the
desired entry (for example
Anne) to record a voice
pattern.
9Repeat the name.
ialing With Your Voice
1Press Navi key on top E.
2At the prompt, speak the recorded
voice pattern (for example Anne).
3When the voice pattern is recog-
nized, the name is played back from
the handset and the number is
dialed.
The voice pattern is played for incoming calls if
you have recorded the number as a voice entry.
1Press Menu.
2Scroll to Base Settings and press
OK.
3Scroll to Spec. Functions and
press OK.
4Scroll to Caller ID and press OK
(check mark indicates feature is on).
10 Press Save.

BASIC PHONE OPERATION
Making a Call 1Dial desired number.
2Press c or u speakerphone key.
3Press a or place handset in base (or charger) to
hang up.
See Gigaset 4210 or 4215 User Manual for voice dialing instructions.
Answering Call Press c or u speakerphone key.
Intercom Call 1Lift handset and select the handsets intercom number
F and press c.
2Or, press the handset number, such as F, .
3Or, select Intercom Call and press c.
4Or, select F, « to call all handsets.
Setting Volume 1Open the Menu G.
2Scroll to Sound Settings D and
press OK.
3Select Handset Volume and press OK.
You will hear the current volume of the speakerphone
and its level is displayed. Scroll to the desired volume
and press Save. You will hear and see in the display
the confirmation of the change.
4To set earpiece volume, scroll down D, select
desired earpiece volume G, and press Save.
Language Setting 1Open the Menu G .
2Scroll to H/Set Settings D and press
OK.
3Scroll to Language and press OK.
4Select the desired language and press OK.
A check mark appears next to the selected language.
Paging Handset Press the page button on the base bottom.

Answering Machine On
The handset Directory will store up to 200 telephone numbers.
STORING IRECTORY ENTRIES
1Open the Directory by pressing the Navi key on bottom D.
2Scroll to New Entry and press OK.
3Enter the telephone number and press OK.
4Scroll and enter the name and press OK.
5Press Menu G.
6Save entry by pressing OK.
IALING FROM IRECTORY
1Open the Directory by pressing the Navi key on bottom D.
2Enter the first letter of the name as entered
(for example, press ^ 2 x for E, Eric).
3Press the Talk cor Speakerphoneu key and the number is dialed.
The Memory dial list will store up to 9 telephone numbers. It is recommended that the 1
key be used for the answering machine or telephone company voice mail access.
STORING MEMORY ENTRIES
1Press the MemoryC key.
2Scroll to New Entry and press OK.
3Enter the telephone number and press OK.
4Using handset keypad, select a quick access key. Press the desired key
(2-9) and then enter the name (for example, to use quick access key 3
for Eric press ^ 4 x for 3, press ^ 2 x for E, press ¤ 3 x for
R, press ¡ 3 x for I, press  3 x for C).
5Press OK.
6Press Menu G.
7Save entry by pressing OK.

1Press and hold the quick access key.
2Press the Talk cor Speakerphoneu key and the number is dialed.

2Scroll to Ans Msg and press OK.
