Connecting to the water supply
A pipe r standard d mestic fresh-water h se is required f r the
water supply, with a minimum pressure f 1 bar (water must fl w
at a rate f appr ximately 8 litres per minute with the tap fully
pen).
If the pressure is higher than 10 bar, a pressure reducing valve
must be inserted between the appliance and the water supply.
!Never c nnect the appliance t the mixer tap f an
unpressurized water heater. If in d ubt have c nnecti ns
made by a qualified technician.
!Caution. C nnecti ns between the appliance and the water
supply must be able t withstand the full water pressure.
Check the ring seal with the tap fully pen.
!Rem ve the filter l cated at the end f the s len id valve nly
when it needs cleaning. The ther filter, l cated at the end f
the pipe inside the plastic l cknut which screws nt tap,
sh uld be cleaned in its tube (it cann t be rem ved).
!T av id damage caused by leaks and fl ding,
the tap sh uld always be cl sed after the appliance has
c mpleted a cycle and especially during l ng absences.
!Hand-tighten the plastic h se c nnecti n l cknuts.

!If the water is discharged via a sink, ensure that the utlet

away quickly en ugh. Ensure that the sink plug is n t

Connecting to the power supply
The appliance mus only be connec ed o an
A.C. mains supply via a correc ly ins alled ear hed socke .

cables.
If using a residual curren -opera ed circui breaker, i mus
display he 7 symbol. Only his ype of pro ec ive swi ch will
ensure compliance wi h curren regula ions.

Detergents and softeners
You ca use all powder a d liquid deterge ts suitable for
fro t-loadi g washi g machi es.
!Do ot use ha d washi g deterge ts because they produce
too much foam.
!Do ot use solve t-based deterge ts i automatic washi g
machi es. Risk of explosion.
!Do ot use washi g performa ce e ha cers, stai removers
or sprays ear the machi e as they could damage the
machi e.
!Store deterge ts a d additives i a safe place out of the
reach of childre .
O ly the correct dosage of deterge t e sures good washi g
results. Follow the i structio s o the deterge t packagi g.
Use the dispe ser provided with the packagi g, such as a
deterge t ball or sachet, for liquid deterge t.
Never exceed the maximum mark, «MAX», o the dispe ser.
The qua tity of deterge t required depe ds o :
- the water hard ess.
- the degree of soili g.
- the amou t of washi g.
- the dosage recomme ded for the type of deterge t.

A excessive amou t of deterge t may cause:

formatio of foam leadi g to poor washi g results.
The deterge t dosage give o the packagi g is based o a full
washi g machi e load.
The qua tity of deterge t should be reduced for smaller loads or
lau dry that is lightly soiled.
Detergent quantity

softeners
Put the fabric softener in the chamber marked 2. Do not exceed
the «MAX» markin (maximum to the lower ed e of the piece A)
because the softener will be flushed into the water with the
deter ent at the start of the washin cycle and so have no effect
in the fabric softenin cycle. Thicker fabric softeners should first
be diluted with a little water.
Powdered bleachin a ents and stain removers can be added.
First put the deter ent in the drawer. Next add the powdered
bleachin a ent or stain remover to the chamber.
Preparing the laundry
mSort the laundry accordin to the symbols on the labels.
Items made of or containin , wool must have «Will not
shrink» or «Machine washable» on the label. Otherwise there
is a risk of the wool shrinkin .
Only items displayin the followin symbols should be machine
washed:

separately, otherwise whites may take on colour.

Any new coloured items should be washed separately.
mSort the laundry according to the maximum permitted load
for the machine. Do not overload the machine. Overloading
the machine leads to poor washing results.
Maximum washing loads permitted:

mRemove all foreign material and metal objects from the items,
for example, safety pins, fasteners, clips, etc.
mBrush sand out of poc ets, cuffs and turnups.
mClose zips and fasten buttons on duvet covers and pillow
cases.
mRemove curtain hoo s or tie in a net or bag.
mWash particularly delicate items, such as tights or lace
curtains, and small items, such as soc s and
hand erchieves, in a net, pillow case or cushion cover.
mTurn trousers and nitted items (for example nitwear,
T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc.) inside out.
mEnsure that fasteners with inserts (hoops, etc.) can be
washed in a machine.
Place items with inserts in a pillowcase, for example, to
prevent them from becoming detatched during washing and
falling through the perforations in the drum, causing damage
to the machine.
If possible, stains should be treated or removed as soon as they
occur.
Try first with soap and water. Do not rub the material. Dried on
stains will only be removed after several washes.

mP ess the «Sta t 3» button. The p og amme sta ts and the
«Wash Q/Ready d» indicato light stays on.
mWhen the p og amme has finished, the «Spin 5/Finished m»
indicato light sta ts flashing. Set the p og amme selecto to
«Stop» and the light goes out.

Modifying a selected programme
If you have se ected and started an incorrect
wash programme it can be corrected in the
fo owing way:
mTurn the programme se ector to «Stop».
mSet the programme se ector to the position
for the required programme. The «Wash
Q/Readyd» indicator ight f ashes.
mPress the «Start 3» button
The «Wash Q/Readyd» indicator ight
comes on. The new y se ected programme
starts.
Interrupting a wash programme
If you shou d wish to stop a programme a ready
in progress:
mTurn the programme se ector to «Stop».
mTurn the programme se ector to the
«Pumping » or «Spin 4» programme
position.
The «Spin 4/Finishedm» indicator ight
f ashes.
If se ecting the «Spin» function, adjust the
required spin speed (do not se ect the
«Rinse ho d /» option.):
mPress the «Start 3» button.
The «Spin 4/Finished m» indicator ight
ight comes on.
Wash programme end / Taking
the laundry out of the machine

mTurn the programme se ector to «Stop».
If necessary:

mTake the aundry out of the machine.
Remove any foreign materia or meta
objects (c ips, fasteners, money, etc.) which
may have co ected in the drum or rubber
sea . Risk of rusting.
Leave the door open so that air can circu ate
inside and dry the app iance.

Cleaning/Maintenance/Frost protection
Disconnect the appliance from the mains and shut off
the water supply before carrying out any maintenance
work.
!Do no use solven s. These produc s can damage
he washing machine's componen s, produce noxious fumes
and may cause an explosion.
!Do no clean he appliance wi h a wa er je .
Clean he body of he appliance and he con rols wi h lukewarm
soapy wa er or a s andard cleaning agen only. Do no use
scouring produc s. Dry i wi h a sof clo h.
1. Remove he drawer from he appliance. Disengage i by
pressing down on he ab a he back of he drawer in he
fabric sof ener sec ion. Hold he ab down and pull he
drawer ou of he appliance.
2. Clean all he par s and componen s under running wa er.
3. Replace he drawer.
Descaling is no normally necessary if he correc dosage of
de ergen has been used.
!Descaling agen s con ain acids which may a ack he
componen s and insides of he appliance or cause
discoloura ion in he laundry.
If you wish o descale he machine anyway, follow he
manufac urer's ins ruc ions closely.

Rust stains shoul be cleane using chlorine-free etergents
(look at the list of substances containe in the pro uct on the
packaging.) Never use wire wool.
It is recommen e that the con ition of the hose be checke
every 5 years to prevent the risk of amage cause by leaks or
floo ing.
Cleaning is necessary:
mIf the pump is blocke by foreign material (for example
buttons, fasteners, clips, etc.) or if use water is not raine .
mAfter washing fluffy items.
All water must be remove from insi e the appliance before
cleaning the pump. As much as 20 litres / 4.4 gal of water may
remain if the pump is obstructe .
Procedure
1. Remove the base boar from the front of the washing
machine, turning the plastic screw hea s using a coin.
! Risk of burning. Allow the use water to cool own
2. Place a shallow container un er the rainage pump cover
(outlet filter). Loosen the cover without removing it completely
to allow the water to empty gra ually. Close the rainage
pump cover when the container is full. Repeat the operation
until all the water has been emptie . Use a suitable container
to remove any remaining water which may spill on the floor.
3. Loosen the rainage pump cover completely.
4. Remove any foreign material or fluff which may have
collecte there. Wipe the insi e of the pump. The bla es
must move freely.
5. Loosen an fit the rainage pump cover in place. Ensure that
it is correctly close .
6. Fit the base boar in place.
7. Pour 2 litres / 3.5 pt of water into the etergent rawer an
start the «Pumping (emptie ) » a itional programme.
This will prevent the etergent from being flushe out before
being use in the next wash.

The appliance's water inlet ilters must be cleaned with the tap is
open and no water lowing into the appliance.
The ilters are located in the hose connection joining the water
supply pipe to the domestic water supply, and in the solenoid
valve connection at the back o the machine.
Procedure
1. First let the water pressure out o the supply pipe:
mClose the tap.
mTurn the programme selector to any wash programme
(except «Spin 4» or «Pump »
mPress the «Start 3» button. Allow the machine to operate or
40 seconds.
mTurn the selector to «Stop».
2. Loosen the supply pipe rom the tap. Rinse the ilter under
running water.
3. Reconnect the pipe to the tap itting.
4. Remove the water supply hose rom its connection on the
back o the appliance.
5. Remove the ilter using lat pliers; wipe it and replace it.
6. Tighten and it the pipe on its coupling.
7. Open the tap and check that there are no water leaks.
8. Close the tap.
I the machine has been installed in an area where it is not
protected against low temperatures, residual water must be
removed rom the pump and the resh-water hose a ter each
wash cycle.

Empty the water from the water inlet hose:
1. Close the tap.
2. Loosen the supply pipe rom the tap. Place the end o the
hose in a container.
3. Select any wash programme or 40 seconds. Any water
remaining in the hose is drained.
4. Reconnect the pipe to the closed tap.
