Minimum computer requirements
Ifyoupurchaseacomputerlocally,itisimportantto
make sure that the chosen model meets the functional
systemrequirements.Thecomputermustfulllthe
various interface requirements made by the system,
andyoumayneedtoaddextraEthernetandserial
adapters. Also, make sure that the computer design and
construction allows for marine use and safe installation.
A laptop computer may be used as long as it meets the
functional requirements.
The minimum requirements are:

• Free hard disk space:30Gb
• Graphic adapter:Seeseparatesection.
• Interfaces:MinimumoneEthernetinterface,two
are required if the computer shall be connected

lines depend on the requested interface capabilities.

TheES70softwarehasbeendesignedfor32-bit
Windows®XP®and 32-bit Windows 7®. For new
installations, we recommend that Windows 7 is used.
OnWindowsXPcomputers,ServicePack3is
required.
About graphic adapters
ThegraphicadaptermustsupportDirectX9.0c,and
mustbecompatiblewithDirect3dandOpenGL.Alarge
number of commercial graphic adapters are available,
andSimradhasnottestedallofthem.Evenadapters
thatmeettheminimumspecicationsmayfailwith
theES70software.Wewelcomeanyfeedbackwith
comments or experiences with graphic adapters.
About USB serial adapters
IfyouhaveconnectedaUSB-to-serialadaptertothe
computer,donotremoveitwhiletheES70isrunning.
Also,donotmovetheadaptertoadifferentUSBsocket
on the computer.
