2 Safety instructions
This unit amplies audio frequency signals for the operation of passive loudspeakers. It is
designed for professional use only. Use the device only as described in this user manual. Any
other use or use under other operating conditions is considered to be improper and may result
in personal injury or property damage. No liability will be assumed for damages resulting from
improper use.
This device may be used only by persons with sucient physical, sensorial, and intellectual
abilities and having corresponding knowledge and experience. Other persons may use this
device only if they are supervised or instructed by a person who is responsible for their safety.
DANGER!
Danger for children
Ensure that plastic bags, packaging, etc. are disposed of properly and are not
within reach of babies and young children. Choking hazard!
Ensure that children do not detach any small parts (e.g. knobs or the like) from
the unit. They could swallow the pieces and choke!
Never let children unattended use electrical devices.

DANGER!
Electric shock caused by high voltages inside
Within the device there are areas where high voltages may be present. Never
remove any covers.
There are no user-serviceable parts inside.
Do not use the device if covers, protectors or optical components are missing or
damaged.

Hazardous voltage
Hazardous voltage may be present at cable ends and screw terminals.
The connection of screw terminals as well as all maintenance and repair work on
the electrical installation of the device must only be performed by qualied elec‐
trical personnel in volt-free condition. Failure to do so may result in electric shock
and risk of re and loss of life.
By all means you have to observe all electrical safety instructions applicable at the
place of operation.

DANGER!
Electric shock caused by short-circuit
Always use proper ready-made insulated mains cabling (power cord) with a pro‐
tective contact plug. Do not modify the mains cable or the plug. Failure to do so
could result in electric shock/death or re. If in doubt, seek advice from a regis‐
tered electrician.
CAUTION!
Possible hearing damage
With loudspeakers or headphones connected, the device can produce volume
levels that may cause temporary or permanent hearing impairment.
Do not operate the device permanently at a high volume level. Decrease the
volume level immediately if you experience ringing in your ears or hearing
impairment.
NOTICE!
Risk of re
Do not block areas of ventilation. Do not install the device near any direct heat
source. Keep the device away from naked ames.

Operating conditions
This device has been designed for indoor use only. To prevent damage, never
expose the device to any liquid or moisture. Avoid direct sunlight, heavy dirt, and
strong vibrations.

Power supply
Before connecting the device, ensure that the input voltage (AC outlet) matches
the voltage rating of the device and that the AC outlet is protected by a residual
current circuit breaker. Failure to do so could result in damage to the device and
possibly injure the user.
Unplug the device before electrical storms occur and when it is unused for long
periods of time to reduce the risk of electric shock or re.
NOTICE!
Possible damage due to installation of a wrong fuse
The use of dierent types of fuses can cause serious damage to the unit. Fire
hazard!
Only fuses of the same type may be used.

NOTICE!
Magnetic elds
The device generates strong magnetic elds that can interfere with the function
of poorly shielded devices. The strongest magnetic elds are directly above and
below the power amplier. Therefore, never place sensitive devices such as pre-
ampliers, radio transmission systems, or tape decks directly above or below the
power amplier. When installing the power amplier into a rack, you should place
it in the lowest position, and further equipment such as pre-ampliers in the
highest position.

4 Installation and starting up
Unpack and check carefully there is no transportation damage before using the unit. Keep the
equipment packaging. To fully protect the product against vibration, dust and moisture during
transportation or storage use the original packaging or your own packaging material suitable
for transport or storage, respectively.
Create all connections while the device is o. Use the shortest possible high-quality cables for
all connections. Take care when running the cables to prevent tripping hazards.

The output voltages of modern high-performance ampliers may result in death
or serious injury.
Never touch the bare ends of loudspeaker cables when the amplier is on.

power amplier. When installing the power amplier into a rack, you should place
it in the lowest position, and further equipment such as pre-ampliers in the
highest position.
The unit has been designed for rack mounting in a standard 19-inch rack; it occupies one rack
unit.
The input signals are connected to the Euroblock terminals. The supplied sockets are used for
this purpose.

nUp to four input signals can be connected to the device (channel terminals [CHA]–[CHD]).
Sirus I-Amp 8.150T
nUp to eight input signals can be connected to the device (channel terminals [INPUT1]–
[INPUT8]).
nTo connect unbalanced input signals, use the [+] and [G] terminals of the respective
channel on the Euroblock.
nTo connect balanced input signals, use the [+], [-] and [G] terminals of the respective
channel on the Euroblock.
The respective input signals can be assigned to dierent zones, or one input signal can be
assigned to all zones.
The device is equipped with two Euroblock terminals that can be used to connect the ELA
speakers (70-V technology or 100-V technology). You need to set the relevant operating mode
(70 V or 100 V) for each individual channel via DIP switches.
Observe the following diagram when connecting the loudspeakers. The total power consump‐
tion of the connected speakers must be below the maximum power of the amplier. We rec‐
ommend a power reserve of 20%.

nIn the device, up to four input signals can be assigned to four dierent speaker zones, or
one single input signal can be assigned to all four speaker zones.

nUp to eight input signals can be assigned to eight dierent speaker zones on the device.
In the example, three 100-V speakers connected in parallel are connected to two speaker con‐
nections that form two speaker zones.

1 Mains switch. Turns the device on and o.
2[SIG] | Indicates the presence of an input signal. The higher the signal level, the faster the LED ashes.
3[CLIP] | Lights up when the channel is overdriven. In this case, reduce the signal level with the channel control until the
LED goes out.
4[PRO] | Lights up when one or more protective circuits have tripped or the device is defective. No sound is output. Make
sure that the vents of the device are free and that good ventilation is possible. Reduce the volume on the device. If the
problem is resolved, the protection circuits are automatically reset and the device is ready for use again.

6 Channel LED lights up green when the device is turned on. Channel LED lights up red when test signal priority is enabled
via the [PRI] Euroblock terminal.
