Structure of the target
Structure of the target’s front side:
The front mask (B) is positioned in the middle (top/bottom) by
corresponding holes/pins. The reinforced front frame (C), which is
inserted in the rail below and xed with a Velcro strip above, com-
pletes the target (the PP-multi-wall B is not used for calibers 32/38
> a rubber membrane with preprinted front mask for precision pistol
is used instead.)
Structure of the target’s back side:
The membrane on the back side closes the sound chamber and
oers protection from contamination (dust etc.) and ricocheting
bullet splinters from the bullet trap as well.

Installation
Target holders
Various targets holders enable dierent types of installation of the target.
According to the directives of the ISSF a min. distance of 1m (25m disciplines) resp. 0.5m (50m disciplines) between the back of target and the
bullet trap must be maintained, so that any cross shots can be recognized. It is recommended to maintain this distance in each case, to ensure
that the target will not be contaminated by bullet splinters/dust.
SHS01 Target holder, installation in front or in the back on a carrier
Installation in the back on a carrier:
Installation in front on a carrier:
SHS03 Fold-up target holder,
installation in front or in the back of a wall with recess
The target holder SHS01 is used for the installation
on a carrier (wall, steel beam, wooden beam). The
target can be mounted in front or in the back on the
carrier (not possible to place light signals if mounted
in the back).
The version SHS01V1 of the target holder provides
longer threaded bolts and enables the mounting of
the reinforced front frame for big bore ammunition
HS25/50A049 (see page 13).
The target holder SHS03 is used for the installation on a wall.
The fold-up holder enables best access to the target (maintenance).
Short and long threaded bolts are included. Thus enables the mounting of the
reinforced front frame HS25/50A049 for large calibre ammunition as well
(see page 13).
Installation in front of a wall:
Ideal size
of recess in
the wall: 60x65cm
Installation in the back of a wall:
If the target is mounted in front
of a wall, the two spacers
SHS03AN001 (left / right side)
must be installed
on on the back
of the target.

Black target centre (bulls eye)
There are several possibilities to ensure that even a heavely shot-up target centre remains visible as black for the shooter. In best
case construction measures (roong of the targets) should prevent incidence of light behind the targets. The accessories on page
9 or 10 should be used if the required construction measures can’t be implemented suciently.
Installation
Example of an installation: roong
Installation without bullet trap

Installation
Mount the holder for the plastic tape roll
at the top to the target.
Open the lid of the transport mechanism as far as
possible, pull the plastic tape down and pass it
through the transport mechanism according to the
drafts below. Then close the lid again.
Place the plastic tape roll at the top into the holder.
Connect the cable of the transport mechanism with
the connection cable of the target.
Pull the steel spring inside the transport mechanism
to open it.
Fix the transport mechanism from below to the
target.
2 dierent connection cables are provided inside the
target (1x light signals, 1x center band mechanism).
The cable with 3-pole plug and protective cap is for the
center band mechanism. Lift the rubber membrane and
pass the cable through the opening down right out of

If there is no bullet trap, it is also possible
to mount the center shade provider directly
to a wall.
Insert the mounting plate into the retaining plate
and ax it with the wing screw.
Plug the mounting / retaining plate

target line (A) and ring line (C) are needed 1x per lane. The «10 Lane Command Desk» (D) enables the central printing and the
display of the connected lanes for the spectators (see SIUS website > Products > «10 Lane Command Desk»).
In addition, country-specic power supply cables are required (device to country specic plug = pos. 1).
For all 25m disciplines the installation is additionally equipped with a time control unit TCU and light signals (page 15).

Bringing into service
Check in advance
– All devices installed according to the instructions?
– Any visible damages on devices or cables?
– Voltage of the power supplies set according to the voltage
of the electric power supply?
To set the lane number, proceed as follows:
Examples of setting the lane no. on the target:
Setting
lane-no. 8:
Setting
lane-no. 163:
The lane no. is set by turning the arrow on the number plate to the
corresponding numeral, using a screwdriver. Numbering of the lane
number is made from right to left.
A B C D
A = Node-no. (no. of the target in the same line)
Only applicable if several targets are in the same line are
(for example 25m/50m). Otherwise leave the setting on 0.
B, C and D
The according Lane-no. can be chosen.
Remove the reinforced front frame, the front mask and the rubber
membrane.

TIP
The functionality of the installed components in the network can be
checked with a PC and software «Loader».
REFERENCE
The acoustic measuring system is deactivated if using exercises
for small bore rie
(from version 3.0a the message
«illegal shot» is
displayed)
. For the rst-time zeroing (function control of the target)
please choose an exercise for pistol.
Connecting to the electricity network / power supply
Connect all devices to the electricity network.
After proper installation and connecting to the electricity network the
operating lamp WD blinks in a interval of 1/2 second.
Control of the operating lamp
Both transmitters of the measuring system should glow.
Control of the detection system transmitters
Assembly of the target
Mount rubber membrane, target front mask and reinforced front
frame (note: the PP-multi-wall B is not used for precision pistol
calibers 32/38 > a rubber membrane with preprinted front mask is
used instead). Check also, if there are no exposed cables in the
ring line.
ILLUMINATION
Do not use halogen lamps or electric bulbs. Infrared light can
interfere with the system. For all 50m outside installations we
recommend CFL / gas discharge lamps.

REFERENCE
The acoustic measuring system is deactivated if using exer-
cises for small bore rie resp. the message «illegal shot» is dis-
played. It is recommended to restart the target before testing
the acoustical detection system.
TIP
After each manipulation of the target /system
restart the equipment.
Microphones
3.2 The hole in the center should not exceed Ø 60mm. Otherwise the rubber
membrane has to be replaced.
The replaced rubber membrane in front can still be used to replace the one in
the back of the target (only if the hole in the center is not bigger than Ø 200mm).
The repaired / new membrane can be mounted by hanging it in the corners onto
the intended hooks at the target.
The PP-multi-wall is not used for precision pistol calibers 32 and 38 > the rubber
membrane HS25/50A069 with preprinted front mask is used instead. If a rubber
membrane got worn out in the white zone of the front mask by using calibers 32/38,
it cannot be used together with the front mask S50A031 anymore.
Membrane in the back:
The membrane in the back has to be replaced, if it is complete worn out and it does
not protect the target from dust and ricocheting
bullet splinters anymore.
