installationinstructions.Theseinstructionsmustbereadtopreventpersonalinjury
andpropertydamage.Keeptheinstallationinstructionsinaneasilyaccessible

2. TherigginghardwareisintendedonlyforusewithSLSExpressseriesspeakers.The
customerassumesallriskoflossandorinjuryarisingoutoftheuseoftherigging
hardwarewithanyotherspeakers.
3. Forceilinginstallations,thesystemsafetycablemustbemountedtothestructural
steelabovethesuspendedtileceilinginanauditorium.Donotattachthesystem
safetycabletoanywoodstructure,woodroofjoists,orwoodframe.Forwall
installations,thesystemsafetycablemustbeanchoredtothebuildingstructure
independentoftheprimaryriggingdevice.Inallinstances,thesafetycablemustbe
mountedinawaythatsupportsaminimumof7to10timesthestaticweightofthe
speaker,orasotherwiserequiredbyapplicablelawsandregulations.
4. Donotinstallonastructurethatispronetoabnormalvibration,movement,orchance
of
impact.
Failuretodosocouldresultindamagetotheequipmentand/ordamageto
themountingsurface.
5. Makesurethatnowaterpipes,naturalgaslines,electricalwire,orconduitarepresent
wherethespeakeristobeinstalled.
6. Cuttingordrillinginto waterpipes,naturalgaslines,electricalwire,orconduitcould
causeseriouspersonalinjuryorpropertydamage.
7. Allinformationinthisguideismeantonlyforthepurposeofinstructingtheuserin
theintendeduseofSLSsuppliedrigging.Allotherriggingisconsideredpartofthe
venueand/orend‐usersuppliedequipmentandisnotaddressedinthisguide.SLS
assumesthataworkingknowledgeofacceptedriggingpracticesandsafetywillbe
appliedtoallriggingmaterialsandpracticesemployed.Thisguideisnota
comprehensivesourceforriggingingeneral.Theusermustassumeallresponsibility

2.1 Installing the System
FollowingaretheMA390Cinstallationinstructions.
2.1.1 Identifying the MA390C Rigging Parts
ThefollowingpartsareincludedintheMA390Cpackingkit.Usethesepartsalongwith
yourdesiredmountingmethod(typically,all‐threadmountedtostructure).TheMA390C
shipswiththeyokeinstalled,butthespeakerbodyisnotshownforclarity:
1. Two20mmsteelwashers

3. Oneyokewithslotforside‐to‐sideangleadjustments(whileuser‐suppliedcaptive
boltsarestillloose)

2.1.2 Positioning
TheMA390Cprovide3‐axisaimingadjustmentswhenusingasinglemountpointtothe
structure.Toproperlyaimthespeaker,youneedtoadjusttwoofthethreeaxes.Thetwoaxes
toadjustvariesforwallmountedorceilingmountedspeakers.Forwallmounting,angles
CandDneedadjusting.Foroverheadmounting,anglesCandGneedadjusting.The
Dolby®RoomDesignTool
spreadsheetprovidestherequiredadjustmentangles forboth
overhead and sidewallpositions. TheDolbyAtmosRoomDesignToolisanExcel‐based
toolthatisusedtohelpdesignaroomandplanequipmenttoensurethatthedesignmeets

Toconnectaudio,connectyourspeakerwiretotheyokewithoutmakingcontactwiththe
speakerenclosure(tominimizeanybuzzing).Thebarrierstripsaccept16to12gaugewire,
eitherwithspadelugsorbarewire.
2.1.4 Connecting the Safety Cable
Youmustconnectasafetycable(notincluded)asfollows:
1. Usethesafetycabletoindependentlyconnectthespeakertothebuildingstructure.
AnM6eyebolt(notshown)thatisattachedtothespeakerinputplateisprovidedfor
thispurpose.
2. PullthesafetycablesnuglyagainsttheM6eyebolt,andsecurethesafetycabletothe
yokeusingzipties(notprovided)tominimizethepossibilityofbuzzingagainstthe
cabinetortheeyebolt.
