!Beforeplacingyournewapplianceintooperationpleaseread
theseoperatinginstructionscarefully.Theycontainimportant
informationforsafeuse,forinstallationandforcareofthe

Positioning and connection
Positioning
1.Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.
2.Donotobstructtherearfangrills.Thecompressorand
condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationtooperate
correctlyandsaveenergy.
3.Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat
(directsunlight,electricstove,etc.).
Electrical connections
Aftertheappliancehasbeentransported,carefullyplaceit
verticallyandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingittothe
electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectrical
socketensurethefollowing:
• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththe
law.
• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpowerofthe
appliance,whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocated
insidethefreezer(e.g.150W).
• Thevoltageisintherangeofvaluesindicatedonthedata
platelocatedinsidethefreezer(e.g.220-240V).
• Thesocketiscompatiblewiththeplugoftheappliance.Ifthe
socketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorisedtechnician
to replace it (see Assistance).Donotuseextensioncordsor
multiplesockets.
!Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupply
cableandtheelectricalsocketmustbeeasilyaccessible.
!Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.
! Thecablemustbecheckedregularlyandreplacedby
authorisedtechniciansonly(seeAssistance).

Start-up and use
Starting the appliance
!Before starting the appliance, follow the installation
instructions (see Installation).
!Beforeconnectingtheappliance,cleanthecompartments
andaccessorieswellwithlukewarmwaterandbicarbonate.
! Theappliancecomeswithamotorprotectioncontrolsystem
whichmakesthecompressorstartapproximately8minutes
afterbeingswitchedon.Thecompressoralsostartseachtime
thepowersupplyiscutoffwhethervoluntarilyorinvoluntarily
(blackout).
1. Inserttheplugintothesocketandmakesurethatthegreen
POWERindicatorlightilluminates(theTEMPERATURE
ADJUSTMENTknobmustbeintheOFFposition).
2. TurntheTEMPERATUREADJUSTMENTknobtoanaverage
valueandpresstheSUPERFREEZEbutton(rapidfreezing):
theSUPERFREEZEindicatorlight willilluminate.It
willswitchoffoncethefreezerhasreacheditsoptimal
temperature.Atthispointfoodmaybeplacedinsidethe
appliance.
Using the freezer to its full potential
• UsetheTEMPERATURECONTROLknobtoadjustthetemperature.
MIN = warmest
MAX = coldest
istheoptimaltemperatureforenergysavinglevels.
Werecommend,however,amediumposition.
• Donotre-freezefoodthatisdefrostingorthathasalreadybeen
defrosted.Thesefoodsmustbecookedandeaten(within24hours).
• Freshfoodthatneedstobefrozenmustnotcomeintocontactwith
foodthathasalreadybeendefrosted.Freshfoodmustbestoredin
thetopFREEZERandSTORAGEcompartment.
• Donotplaceglassbottleswhichcontainliquids,andwhichare
corkedorhermeticallysealedinthefreezerbecausetheycould
break.
• Themaximumquantityoffoodthatmaybefrozendailyisindicatedon
theplatecontainingthetechnicalpropertieslocatedwithinthefreezer
(forexample:Kg/24h:4).
• Tofreeze(ifthefreezerisalreadyoperating):
-forsmallquantitieswhicharelessthanthoseindicatedonthedata
plate,presstherapidfreezingSUPERFREEZEbutton(corresponding
indicatorlight illuminates),insertthefoodandclosethedoor.The
functionisdisabledautomaticallyafter24hoursorwhenoptimal
temperatureshavebeenreached(indicatorlightgoesout);
-forlargequantitieswhicharegreaterthanthemaximumloadindicated
onthedataplate,holddowntherapidfreezingSUPERFREEZEbutton
untilthecorrespondingindicatorlightbeginstoflash.After24hoursthe
indicatorlightstopsflashingandremainsonconstantly.Placethefood
insidethefreezerandclosethedoor.Afteranother24hours,thefunction
willbedisabledautomatically(indicatorlightgoesout).
!Donotopenthedoorduringfreezing.
!Ifthereisapowercutormalfunction,donotopenthefreezerdoor.
Thiswillhelpmaintainthetemperatureinsidethefreezer,ensuring
thatfoodsareconservedforatleast9-14hours.

Avoiding mould and unpleasant odours
• Theapplianceismanufacturedwithhygienicmaterialswhich
areodourfree.Inordertomaintainanodourfreerefrigerator
andtopreventtheformationofstains,foodmustalwaysbe
coveredorsealedproperly.
• Ifyouwanttoswitchtheapplianceoffforanextended
periodoftime,cleantheinsideandleavethedoorsopen.

drawersensuresgreatercleanliness:theicenolonger
comesintocontactwiththefoodplacedinsidethefreezer
compartment;furthermore,thedrippingofthewaterduring
fillingisavoided(alidtocoveruptheholeafterfillingwith
waterisalsoprovided).
1. Pulloutthetraybypushingitup.Checkthatthetrayis
ompletelyemptyandfillitwithwaterthroughtheopening
provided.
2. Takecarenottoexceedthelevelindicated(MAXWATER
LEVEL).Excesswaterpreventstheicecubesfrom
dispensing(ifthishappens,waitfortheicetomeltand
emptythetray).
3. Turnthetray90°:duetotheconnectedcompartmentseach
mouldfillswithwater(see diagram).
4. Closetheopeningwiththelidprovidedandputthetray
back,placingthetoppartinthecorrespondinghousingand
allowingittodropinagain.
5. Whentheicehasformed(minimumtimeapproximately8
hours)knockthetrayagainstahardsurfaceandwetthe
outsidesothattheicecubescomelooseandtakethemout
throughtheopening.

Maintenance and care
Switching the appliance off
Duringcleaningandmaintenanceitisnecessaryto
disconnecttheappliancefromtheelectricitysupply:
1.settheTEMPERATURECONTROLKnobonOFF;
2.pulltheplugoutofthesocket.
Cleaning the appliance
• Theexternalandinternalparts,aswellastherubberseals
maybecleanedusingaspongethathasbeensoakedin
lukewarmwaterandbicarbonateofsodaorneutralsoap.Do
notusesolvents,abrasiveproducts,bleachorammonia.
• Theremovableaccessoriesmaybesoakedinwarmwater
andsoapordishwashingliquid.Rinseanddrythem
carefully.
• Thebackoftheappliancemaycollectdustwhichcanbe
removedbydelicatelyusingthehoseofavacuumcleaner
setonmediumpower.Theappliancemustbeswitched
offandtheplugmustbepulledoutbeforecleaningthe

Disposal

Respecting and conserving the
environment
• Installtheapplianceinafreshandwell-ventilatedroom.
Ensurethatitisprotectedfromdirectsunlightanddonot
placeitnearheatsources.
• Trytoavoidkeepingthedooropenforlongperiodsor
openingthedoortoofrequentlyinordertoconserve
energy.
• Donotfilltheappliancewithtoomuchfood:coldair
mustcirculatefreelyforfoodtobepreservedproperly.
Ifcirculationisimpeded,thecompressorwillwork
continuously.
• Donotplacehotfooddirectlyintotherefrigerator.
Theinternaltemperaturewillincreaseandforcethe
compressortoworkharderandwillconsumemoreenergy.
• Regularlycheckthedoorsealsandwipecleantoensure
theyarefreeofdebrisandtopreventcoldairfrom
escaping(see Maintenance).
Troubleshooting
Iftheappliancedoesnotwork,beforecallingforAssistance
(seeAssistance),checkforasolutionfromthefollowinglist.
The green POWER indicator light does not illuminate.
•Theplughasnotbeeninsertedintotheelectricalsocket,ornot
farenoughtomakecontact,orthereisnopowerinthehouse.
The motor does not start.
•The appliance comeswith amotor protection control (see
Start-up and use).
The ALARM indicator light is illuminated and the buzzer
sounds at regular intervals.

vibrateandmakenoise.
• Theinternalrefrigerantmakesaslightnoiseevenwhenthe
compressorisoff.Thisisnotadefect,itisnormal.
