!Beforeplacingyournewapplianceintooperationpleaseread
theseoperatinginstructionscarefully.Theycontainimportant
informationforsafeuse,forinstallationandforcareofthe
appliance.

Positioning and connection
Positioning
1.Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.
2.Donotobstructtherearfangrills.Thecompressorand
condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationtooperate
correctlyandsaveenergy.
3.Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat
(directsunlight,electricstove,etc.).
Electrical connections
Aftertheappliancehasbeentransported,carefullyplaceit
verticallyandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingittothe
electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectrical
socketensurethefollowing:
• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththe
law.
• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpowerofthe
appliance,whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocated
insidethefreezer(e.g.150W).
• Thevoltageisintherangeofvaluesindicatedonthedata
platelocatedinsidethefreezer(e.g.220-240V).
• Thesocketiscompatiblewiththeplugoftheappliance.Ifthe
socketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorisedtechnician
to replace it (see Assistance).Donotuseextensioncordsor
multiplesockets.
!Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupply
cableandtheelectricalsocketmustbeeasilyaccessible.
!Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.
! Thecablemustbecheckedregularlyandreplacedby
authorisedtechniciansonly(seeAssistance).
!The manufacturer declines any liability should these
safety measures not be observed.
Start-up and use
Starting the appliance
!Before starting the appliance, follow the installation
instructions (see Installation).
!Beforeconnectingtheappliance,cleanthecompartments
andaccessorieswellwithlukewarmwaterandbicarbonate.
! Theappliancecomeswithamotorprotectioncontrolsystem
whichmakesthecompressorstartapproximately8minutes
afterbeingswitchedon.Thecompressoralsostartseachtime
thepowersupplyiscutoffwhethervoluntarilyorinvoluntarily
(blackout).
1.Inserttheplugintothesocketandmakesurethatthe
TEMPERATUREindicatorlightilluminates.Ifthetemperature
indicatorlightdoesn’tilluminate,presstheON/OFFbutton.
2.SettheTEMPERATUREindicatorlightstoanaveragevalue.
Using the freezer to its full potential
•UsetheTEMPERATURECONTROLbuttontosetthe
temperaturevalue.
Werecommend,however,amediumposition.
•Donotre-freezefoodthatisdefrostingorthathasalready
beendefrosted.Thesefoodsmustbecookedandeaten(within
24hours).
•Freshfoodthatneedstobefrozenmustnotcomeinto
contactwithfoodthathasalreadybeendefrosted.Freshfood
mustbestoredintheFREEZERandSTORAGEcompartment.
•Donotplaceglassbottleswhichcontainliquids,andwhich
arecorkedorhermeticallysealedinthefreezerbecausethey
couldbreak.
•Themaximumquantityoffoodthatmaybefrozendailyis
indicatedontheplatecontainingthetechnicalproperties
locatedwithinthefreezer(forexample:Kg/24h:4).
•Tofreeze(ifthefreezerisalreadyoperating):
-forsmallquantitieswhicharelessthanthoseindicatedon
thedataplate,presstherapidfreezingQUICKFREEZEbutton
(correspondingindicatorlightilluminates),insertthefoodand
closethedoor.Thefunctionisdisabledautomaticallyafter24
hours.
•Inordertoobtainagreateramountofspaceinthefreezer
compartment,youmayremovethebins(exceptthelowestbin
andthespecialCOOLCAREZONEbin(ifexists),whichhas
anadjustabletemperature)andplacethefooddirectlyontothe
suppliedrack.
!Donotopenthedoorduringfreezing.
!Ifthereisapowercutormalfunction,donotopenthefreezerdoor.
Thiswillhelpmaintainthetemperatureinsidethefreezer,ensuring
thatfoodsareconservedforatleast9-14hours.
Ice3ice tray
Thefactthattheyaresituatedonthetoppartofthefreezer
drawersensuresgreatercleanliness:theicenolonger
comesintocontactwiththefoodplacedinsidethefreezer
compartment;furthermore,thedrippingofthewaterduring
fillingisavoided(alidtocoveruptheholeafterfillingwith
waterisalsoprovided).
1. Pulloutthetraybypushingitup.Checkthatthetrayis
ompletelyemptyandfillitwithwaterthroughtheopening
provided.
2. Takecarenottoexceedthelevelindicated(MAXWATER
LEVEL).Excesswaterpreventstheicecubesfrom
dispensing(ifthishappens,waitfortheicetomeltand
emptythetray).
3. Turnthetray90°:duetotheconnectedcompartmentseach
mouldfillswithwater(see diagram).

areas.Itisextremelydangeroustoleavetheapplianceexposed

Maintenance and care
Switching the appliance off
Duringcleaningandmaintenanceitisnecessarytodisconnect
theappliancefromtheelectricitysupply:
1.PresstheON/OFFbutton.
2.Pulltheplugoutofthesocket.
!Ifthisprocedureisnotfollowed,thealarmmaysound.This
alarmdoesnotindicateamalfunction.Torestorenormal
operation,andthensetagaintothedesiredvalue.To
disconnecttheappliance,followpoint1and2.
Cleaning the appliance
• Theexternalandinternalparts,aswellastherubberseals
maybecleanedusingaspongethathasbeensoakedin
lukewarmwaterandbicarbonateofsodaorneutralsoap.Do
notusesolvents,abrasiveproducts,bleachorammonia.
• Theremovableaccessoriesmaybesoakedinwarmwater
andsoapordishwashingliquid.Rinseanddrythem
carefully.
• Thebackoftheappliancemaycollectdustwhichcanbe
removedbydelicatelyusingthehoseofavacuumcleaner
setonmediumpower.Theappliancemustbeswitched
offandtheplugmustbepulledoutbeforecleaningthe
appliance.
Avoiding mould and unpleasant odours
• Theapplianceismanufacturedwithhygienicmaterialswhich
areodourfree.Inordertomaintainanodourfreerefrigerator
andtopreventtheformationofstains,foodmustalwaysbe
coveredorsealedproperly.
• Ifyouwanttoswitchtheapplianceoffforanextended
periodoftime,cleantheinsideandleavethedoorsopen.

Disposal
• Observelocalenvironmentalstandardswhendisposing
packagingmaterialforrecyclingpurposes.
• TheEuropeanDirective2002/96/EConWasteElectrical
andElectronicEquipment(WEEE),requiresthatold
householdelectricalappliancesmustnotbedisposed
ofinthenormalunsortedmunicipalwastestream.Old
appliancesmustbecollectedseparatelyinorderto
optimisetherecoveryandrecyclingofthematerialsthey
containandreducetheimpactonhumanhealthandthe
environment.Thecrossedout“wheeledbin”symbolon
theproductremindsyouofyourobligation,thatwhenyou
disposeoftheapplianceitmustbeseparatelycollected.
Consumersshouldcontacttheirlocalauthority
orretailerforinformationconcerningthecorrect
disposaloftheiroldappliance.
Respecting and conserving the
environment
• Installtheapplianceinafreshandwell-ventilatedroom.
Ensurethatitisprotectedfromdirectsunlightanddonot
placeitnearheatsources.
• Trytoavoidkeepingthedooropenforlongperiodsor
openingthedoortoofrequentlyinordertoconserve
energy.
• Donotfilltheappliancewithtoomuchfood:coldair
mustcirculatefreelyforfoodtobepreservedproperly.
Ifcirculationisimpeded,thecompressorwillwork
continuously.
• Donotplacehotfooddirectlyintotherefrigerator.
Theinternaltemperaturewillincreaseandforcethe
compressortoworkharderandwillconsumemoreenergy.
• Regularlycheckthedoorsealsandwipecleantoensure
theyarefreeofdebrisandtopreventcoldairfrom
escaping(see Maintenance).
Troubleshooting
Iftheappliancedoesnotwork,beforecallingforAssistance
(seeAssistance),checkforasolutionfromthefollowinglist.
The TEMPERATURE indicator light does not
illuminates
•Theplughasnotbeeninsertedintotheelectricalsocket,ornot
farenoughtomakecontact,orthereisnopowerinthehouse.
The motor does not start.
•The appliance comeswith amotor protection control (see
Start-up and use).
The buzzer sounds at regular intervals.
• Theappliancedoorhasbeenleftopenforlongerthan2
minutes.Thebuzzerwillstopsoundingwhenyoushutthe
door.
The motor runs continuously.
• TheQUICKFREEZEbuttonhasbeenpressed:theSUPER
FREEZEindicatorlightison(seeDescription).
• Theappliancehasbeeninstalledbetweencabinetsthat
vibrateandmakenoise.
• Theinternalrefrigerantmakesaslightnoiseevenwhenthe
compressorisoff.Thisisnotadefect,itisnormal.
The appliance makes a lot of noise.
• Theappliancehasnotbeeninstalledonalevelsurface(see
Installation).
• Theappliancehasbeeninstalledbetweencabinetsthat
vibrateandmakenoise.
