Quick Guide
SONOSITE NANOMAXX®
ULTRASOUND SYSTEM
Turn on:
Press Power. System will beep and start-up screen will appear. System takes less an 20 seconds to be ready for scanning.
Entering Patient Data:
Press Patient and select New/End. Press e first field of patient date to be entered and e keyboard will appear. Enter e
details using e touch screen keypad and to move between fields, use <Prev Next> buttons to move between fields. Press
e Done key to return to return to e patient data screen.
When patient data is entered select Exam Type: Press e Exam Type drop down, select e required exam type and press
Done to return to 2D mode and begin scanning.
Image Optimisation:
1 – Adjust Dep controls
Decreasing e image dep allows you to make e structures you are visualising as large as possible on e screen. Increasing
e image dep allows you to visualise deeper structures wiin e image. A scale marking is displayed along right side of screen
in 5 mm, 1 cm or 5 cm increments, depending on imaging dep. Total dep in centimetres is displayed at lower right of screen.
Please Note:
The focal zone is always located in e centre of e image. The penetration dep depends
on e frequency range of e transducer.
2 – Gain Controls
Gain Controls may be adjusted to balance e image. Press e Gain key to move
between Near, Far and Overall Gain and rotate e dial to adjust.
Near – Use for manual gain control upper half image
Far – Use for manual gain control lower half image
Gain – Use for manual gain control of whole image
Auto – Press e Auto Gain so key to automatically balance image
3 – Mode Controls
For 2D, Color, Doppler and M-Mode press Mode key from e lower menu and select
appropriate mode from e sub menu at appears.
Color / CPD:
In Color or Color Doppler mode, adjust e color box position by placing and moving
your finger in e centre of e box. Use trackpad to change position when box is solid,
or to change e size when box outline is broken. To change e mode to Color Power
Doppler (CPD), press e CPD key to e le of e ultrasound image.
Freeze:
Press Freeze. Cineloop function activates automatically. Use e dial to scroll back
rough frames to obtain required image. Press Unfreeze to return to 2D mode.
Measure:
Freeze e image.
Press Caliper button. Press Touch Screen key to activate e callipers for placement. Place your finger on e active green
cursor to move to desired position. Use Select to change between active cursors.
To select anoer measurement press Caliper.
