• The LCD screen and tile viewfinder are
manufactured using extremely high-
precision technology, so over 99.99_)_ of
the pixels are operational for elTcctive
use. However. there may be some tiny
black points anWor bright points/white.
red. blue. or green in color) that appear
constantly on the LCD screen and the
viewfinder. These points are normal
results of the manufacturing process and
do not affect the recording in any way.

• Exposing the LCD screen, the viewfinder.
or the lens to direct sunlight for long
periods of time may cause malfunctions.
• Do not aim at the sun. Doing so might

Take pictures of the sun only in low light

Onrecording

recording function to make sure the
picture and sound are recorded without

Attach tile lens cap to tile metal fittings of tile
grip belt, as illustrated below, using the strap.

Step2: Chargingthe batterypack
You can charge the "InfoLITHIUM"
battery pack (P series) (p. 81) after
attaching it to your camcorder.

pack and your camcorder O, then
attach the battery pack and click

LCD screen
4Connect the power cord to the AC
Adaptor and the wall outlet.
CHG (charge) lamp
The CHG (charge) lamp lights up and
charging starts.

when the battery is fully charged.
Disconnect the AC Adaptor from
the DC IN jack.
Disconnect tile AC Adaptor lhom the
DC IN .jack holding both the camcorder
and the DC plug.
Touse an outsidepower source
You can operate your camcorder using tile
power lhom the wall outlet by making the
same connections as you do when charging
the battery pack. The battery pack will not
lose its charge in this case.
To remove the battery pack
(_) Slide the POWER s'a itch to
OFF(CHG). Hold down the •
BATT(battery) release lever with one
hand.
(_) Remove the battery in the direction of
the arrow with the other hand.

On the battery pack
•Before changing the battery pack, slide tile
POWER switch to OPP(CHG).
• The CHG (charge) lamp flashes during
charging, or the Battery Inlo (p. 27) will not be
coITectly displayed under the lollowing

• The recording and playback time will be shorter
when you use your camcorder ill low

On the AC Adaptor
• Use tile nearby wall outlel when using the A(_"
Adaptor, Disconnect the A(_"Adaptor fl'on_ tile
wall outlet immediately if any mallimclion
occ/irs while USillg your c_lnlcorder,
• Do not u_ tile AC Adaptor placed in a narrow
space,such as between a wall and lurnimrc.
• Do not short-circuil tile DC plug of tile AC
Adaptor or baltcry terminal with any metallic
objects. This may cause a malfunction.
PRECAUTION
• Even if your canlcorder is turned off, AC power
/house current) is still supplied to it while
connected to lhe wall outlel via file AC Adaptor.

To record or play back. slide the POWER
switch repeatedly to turn on the respective
lamp.
When using it for the first time. the
[CLOCK SET] screen appears (p. 19).

angle to record or play ((_).
You can view pictures using file viewfinder
le avoid wearing dewn tile battery, or when
tile picture seen on the LCD screen is poor.

Yuu can play back recurded pictures
(p. 25), ur change tile settings (p. 34) using

Place your hand on the rear side of
the LCD panel to support it. Then,
touch the buttons displayed on the
screen.

You can change tile on-screen displays to
shuw messages in a specified language.
Select the screen language in [ _i
LANGUAGE] on tile [] (SETUP
MENU) (p. 34, 47).

Set the date and time when using this
camcorder for tile first time. If you do not
set the date attd time. the [CLOCK SET]
screen appears every time yo/i turll Oil your
camcorder or change the POWER switch
position.
• If you do not use your camcorder lot about 3
months, tilebuilt-in ivcbargeable baltcry gets
discharged and thedate and time sellings may
be cleared fromthe memolT. Inthat case.
charge the mchalgeable battery and then set lhe
