Precautions

If your car was parked in direct sunlight
resulting in a considerable rise in temperature
inside the car, allow the unit to cool off before
operating it.
•If no power is being supplied to the unit,
checktheconnectionsfirst.If everythingisin
order,checkthe fuse.
•If no sound comes from the speakers of a
two-speakersystem,setthefadercontrolto
thecenterposition.
•Whenthe tape isplayed back fora long
period, the cassette may become warm
becauseofthebuilt-in poweramplifier.
However,this isnot asign ofmalfunction.

To maintain high quality sound
Ifyouhave drinkholders nearyouraudio
equipment,becarefulnot tosplashjuiceor
othersoftdrinksonto thecaraudio.Sugary
residuesonthisunitor cassettetapesmay
contaminatetheplayback heads,reduce the
soundquality, orpreventsound reproduction
altogether.
Cassettecleaningkitscannotremovesugar
fromthe tape heads.
Notes on Cassettes
Cassette care
•Donottouchthetapesurfaceofacassette,as
anydirtor dustwill contaminatetheheads.
•Keepcassettes away from equipmentwith
built-inmagnetssuchasspeakersand
amplifiers,aserasureordistortiononthe
recordedtapecould occur.
•Donotexposecassettes todirectsunlight,
extremelycold temperatures,ormoisture.
•Slackin thetape may causethe tapeto be
caughtin the machine.Before youinsert the
tape,useapencilorasimilar objecttoturn
thereelandtake upanyslack.
•Distortedcassettesandlooselabelscancause
problemswhen insertingor ejectingtapes.
Removeorreplacelooselabels.
•The sound may become distorted while
playingthecassette.Thecassetteplayerhead
shouldbecleanedafter each50hoursof use.
Cassettes longer than 90 minutes
Theuseof cassetteslonger than90minutes is
not recommended except for long continuous
play.Thetapeusedforthesecassettesisvery
thinandtendstostretcheasily.Frequent
playingand stoppingof thesetapes maycause
them to become entangled in the cassette deck
mechanism.
