want appears in the display
(direct power-on).

frequency digits begin to change
in the display.
The player automatically scans
the radio frequencies and stops
when it finds a clear station.
If you can't tune in a station,
press the button once at a time.

stereo broadcast.

Tips
¢ Adjusting the volume or
the audio emphasis (see
page 25) will not affect
the recording level.
¢ For the best results, use
the AC power source as
a power sourse and use
TYPE I (normal) tape.
¢ If the AM program
makes a whistling
sound after you've
pressed @ in step 3, set
the ISS (Interference
Suppress Switch) at the
rear to the position that
most decreases the
noise. Normally set the
switch to “2.”

The CD Player
Playing multiple
discs
You can play up to 6 CDs one after
another.
DISC 1 to 6
DISC MODE
1 Press one of the DISC 1 to 6 buttons to select the
disc tray.
The indicator of the selected disc tray blinks
quickly (CFD-626 only).
2 Press 4 OPEN/CLOSE on the player and place a
CD on the disc tray.
3 Press 4 OPEN/CLOSE on the player to close the
disc tray.
The number of the
disc tray where the
CD is inserted appears
in the display. To
insert more discs,
repeat steps 1 to 3.

Press DISPLAY in stop mode.
If the disc has more than 16 tracks, “OVER 16”
appears in the display.

Locating a specific
track
You can quickly locate any track using
the number buttons. You can also find a
specific point in a track while playing a
disc.
Note
You cannot start play if
“PGM” or “SHUF REP”
is lit in the display.
Turn off the indication

Tip
When you locate a
track numbered over
10, press > 10 first, then
the corresponding
number buttons.

“CD” appears in the display.
2 Press DISC MODE to select “ALL DISCS.”
3 Press DISC SCAN on the player.
The player starts scanning the first track of each
disc for 10 seconds. Scanning always starts from
the disc in DISC 1 no matter what disc number is
selected.

stations
You can store radio stations into the
player's memory. You can preset up to
24 radio stations, 12 for each FM or AM
in any order.
Tip
To preset radio staions
on the player, proceed
as follows:
1 Select the band and

want.

MEM for about 2
seconds.

preset the new station for about 2 seconds.
To select the preset number over 10, press >10 first,

to hold down the last number button to enter for
about 2 seconds. (Example: To select 12, press >10
and 1, then hold down 2 for about 2 seconds.)
The new station replaces the old one.
