The DSC-TX5 features a 10.2 megapixel,
back-illuminated “Exmor R” CMOS image
sensor. This advanced technology leverages
the full resolving power of the camera’s 25mm
equivalent wide Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar®
lens, plus gives the camera stunning low-light
sensitivity for capturing extraordinarily clear
images with drastically reduced grain.

The DSC-TX5 can capture up to ten full 10.2
megapixel resolution images per second.
So now you can be sure to capture the bat
hitting the game-winning homerun, the lead
runner crossing the fi nish line, and other
decisive moments. The camera also uses a
mechanical shutter to help reduce distortion
when continuously shooting moving subjects.
Capture breathtaking
panoramic shots
Intelligent Sweep Panorama mode lets
capture stunningly expansive shots with
ease. Simply press the shutter button and
sweep the camera horizontally or vertically
over your desired scene. The camera shoots
continuously at a high speed, automatically
adjusts the position of each image, then
seamlessly stitches up to 100 pictures together
into one panoramic photo of up to 258
degrees. This model even detects faces and
moving objects, intelligently stitching subjects
of different widths together to minimize
distortion. With the DSC-TX5 you can even take
these panoramic images under water or, get
even more creative, and take shots partially
above and below water while you sweep.
MP4 for PC: 720p
MP4 is ideal for enjoying and sharing HD
movies on your PC, Mac® or the Internet. You
can record video up to 1280x720 at 30fps. A
MP4 HD fi le is a compressed single fi le format,
perfect for uploading to computers and Web
sharing sites like YouTube™. (Compatible
computer with Internet compatibility required.)
Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® Lens
The high-performance Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar®
4x optical zoom (25mm equivalent) lens brings
distant subjects closer for video recording as
well as for outdoor, sports, and travel photos.
The Close Focus function lets you shoot from
just under ½” from your subjects, while the
25mm equivalent wide-angle lens allows for
wider shots of a scene or group in crowded
spaces.
