INSERTING AND REMOVING THE FLOPPY DISK
THE CONTROL BUTTON
To insert the floppy disk:
Insert the floppy disk until it clicks.
To remove the floppy disk:
While pressing PUSH, slide DISK
EJECT in the direction of the
arrow.
You can execute the menu
functions by using the four
control button arrows to
navigate and select from the
menus. To enter your
selection, press the centre
of the control button.

Charging the Battery Pack
TO REMOVE THE BATTERY PACK – Slide up the battery pack.
Installing the Battery Pack
1 Connect the power cord to a wall
socket.

2 Insert the battery pack in the direction
of the tmark. Slide down until it clicks.
ORANGE CHARGE LAMP
Open the battery cover by sliding the OPEN(BATT)
switch in the direction of the arrow
Insert the battery pack
with the smark facing
towards the camera.
Close the cover until it
clicks.
TO REMOVE THE BATTERY
PACK - Open the battery
cover while sliding the
BATTERY RELEASE LEVER
to the right.

1 RECORDING STILL IMAGES
PLAYING BACK STILL IMAGES
1Set PLAY/STILL/MOVIE to PLAY
2Select the recorded image with the control button
2 RECORDING MOVING IMAGES
1Set PLAY/STILL/MOVIE to MOVIE
2Hold the shutter button down to record the image and the sound – to
stop recording release the shutter button.
Max Recording times are:
60 secs at 160x112 size (approx video size of 4.5 cm x 3.25 cm)
15 secs at 320x240 size (approx video size of 9 cm x 6.5 cm)
PLAYING BACK MOVING IMAGES
1Set PLAY/STILL/MOVIE to PLAY
2Select playback start button on the LCD screen.
1Slide POWER switch down to turn on the power and then insert the
floppy disk until it clicks.
2Set PLAY/STILL/MOVIE to STILL.
3Press the shutter button halfway down.
4When the green light stops flashing press the shutter button fully
down to record the image.

CHANGING THE MODE SETTINGS
Select MENU with the control button, then press it – the following menu
appears on the LCD screen in STILL mode.
Select the desired item with the control button, then press it
Change the setting with the control button, then press it.
REC MODE
BITMAP Records a non-compressed image besides a JPEG file –
good for recording images in clearer detail
VOICE Records a still image and sound together besides a JPEG
E-MAIL Records compressed data besides a JPEG – suitable for
e-mailing as the data is compressed
NORMAL A JPEG file is recorded

2 QUALITY
FINE Select when giving priority to image quality
STANDARD Select for standard image quality
3IMAGE SIZE
Select size of JPEG still image 640x480 or 1024x768
Select size of MPEG moving image 160x112 (60secs) or 320x240 (15secs)
4 FLASH LEVEL
HIGH Select to make flash level higher than normal
NORMAL Normally selected
LOW Select to make flash level lower than normal
5 FILE NUMBER
NORMAL Select to reset image numbering with each disk change
SERIES Keeps image numbers in sequence even if disk is changed
6 DISK TOOL
FORMAT Formats the floppy disk in the camera
DISK COPY Copies contents of one disk to another
7 BEEP
ON Turns the beep/shutter sound on
OFF Turns the beep/shutter sound off
8 CLOCK SET
§Select this to set the date and time.
§Select the desired display of the date (Y/M/D or M/D/Y or D/M/Y)
with the control button, then press it
§Select the date and time with the control button then press it. The
item to be changed is indicated with s/t- make changes by pressing
the upper or lower side of the control button then pressing to enter
the number.
§Select ENTER with the control button, then press.

ITEMS IN PLAY MODE
PROTECT
Select this to protect a displayed image from being deleted.
COPY
Select this to copy a displayed image to another floppy disk.
DELETE
Select this to delete a displayed image.
PICTURE EFFECTS
PROGRAM AE (Auto Exposure) FUNCTION
Press the PROGRAM AE repeatedly to choose one of the six modes to
suit your shooting situation.
Press PICTURE EFFECT repeatedly to select
the desired picture effect mode.
NEG ART – colour and brightness reversed
SEPIA – picture is sepia
B&W – black and white
SOLARIZE – picture looks like an illustration
Soft Portrait Mode
Creates a soft background for subjects such as people or flowers and
faithfully reproduces skin colour.
Sports Lesson Mode
For recording fast-moving subjects.
Beach & Ski Mode
For people or faces in strong light or reflected light, such as at a
beach or on a ski slope.

TO CANCEL PROGRAM AE press the button repeatedly until the
indicator on the LCD screen goes out.
Sunset & Moon Mode
For recording subjects in dark environments such as sunsets,
fireworks, neon signs or general night views.
Landscape mode
For distant subjects such as mountains or when recording a subject
behind an obstacle such as a window.
Panfocus Mode
For recording close or distant subjects quickly and simply or for
recording with flash in a dark place where it is hard to bring the
camera into focus.
