Kiteboarding: hazards & risks
•Grundsätzlich gilt: Lass dich professionell schulen,
wenn du Kitesurfen erlernst. Und: Lass immer orsicht
walten, wenn du das vorliegende Produkt benutzt.
•erwende dieses Produkt nur, wenn du dich in guter
physischer und psychischer erfassung befindest.
•Wenn du dieses Produkt verwendest, bist du sowohl für
deine als auch für die Sicherheit anderer verantwort-
lich.
•Gehe niemals kiten, wenn sich Hindernisse in Lee be-
finden. Und: Gehe niemals bei auf- oder ablandigen
Windbedingungen kiten.
•The basic rule is: get professionally trained when you
learn to kitesurf. And: always be careful when using
this product.
•Only use this product if you are in good physical and
mental condition.
•If you use this product, you are responsible for both –
your own safety and the safety of others.
•Never go kiting if there are obstacles in leeward direc-
tion. And: never go kiting in onshore or offshore wind
conditions.

•Die erwendung des vorliegenden SPLEENE Kiteboar-
ding Produkts und seiner Bestandteile beherbergt ge-
wisse Gefahren einer erletzung am Körper oder gar
Tötung des Benutzers oder Dritter.
•Mit der erwendung des SPLEENE Kiteboarding Pro-
dukts stimmst du zu, sämtliche bekannten und unbe-
kannten, wahrscheinlichen und unwahrscheinlichen
erletzungsrisiken auf dich zu nehmen und zu akzep-
tieren.
•Die mit Ausübung dieser Sportart verbundenen Gefah-
ren lassen sich durch die Beachtung der Warnhinweise
in dieser Bedienungsanleitung sowie der im Einzelfall
gebotenen Sorgfalt reduzieren.
•Die diesem Sport innewohnenden Risiken können zu
einem großen Teil reduziert werden, wenn man sich
sowohl an die Warnrichtlinien, die in dieser Gebrauchs-
anweisung aufgelistet sind, als auch an den gesunden
Menschenverstand hält.

Hiermit erklärst du, dass du – vor erwendung des SPLEENE
Kiteboarding Produkts – die gesamte Gebrauchsanweisung
(folgende Bedienungsanleitung und Anleitung unter
www.spleene.com), einschließlich aller Anweisungen und
Warnhinweise, gelesen und verstanden hast.
Bei Weitergabe an Dritte: Darüber hinaus erklärst du, dafür
Sorge zu tragen, dass – bevor du die Benutzung deines
SPLEENE Kiteboarding Produkts einer anderen Person gestat-
test – dieser andere Benutzer (der das Produkt endgültig oder
zeitlich befristet von dir übernimmt) die gesamte Gebrauchs-
anweisung des SPLEENE Kiteboarding Produkts (einschließlich
aller Anweisungen und Warnhinweise, die in dieser Bedie-
nungsanleitung enthalten sind) gelesen und verstanden hat.
Durch den Abschluss des Kaufvertrages über ein SPLEENE
Kiteboarding Produkt erklärst du dich mit folgenden Punkten –

GEARTETEN ANSPRÜCHE aus der erwendung des
SPLEENE Kiteboarding Produkts und jedweder seiner
Komponenten, die du jetzt oder in Zukunft gegen
a.m.sports GmbH und alle anderen ertragspartner
haben wirst.
•DIE ENTBINDUNG der a.m.sports GmbH und allen an-
deren ertragspartnern von jedweden Ansprüchen be-
züglich erlust, Schäden, erletzung oder Ausgaben,
die du, deine nächsten Angehörigen und erwandten
oder jedweder andere Benutzer des SPLEENE Kiteboar-
ding Produkts erleiden können, die sich aus der er-
wendung des SPLEENE Kiteboarding Produkts ergeben,
einschließlich der aus Gesetz oder ertrag ergebenden
Haftung seitens der a.m.sports GmbH und alle seiner
Komponenten. Mit Eintritt des Todes oder der Erwerbs-

unfähigkeit treten alle hier angeführten Bestimmungen
in Kraft und binden auch Ihre Erben, nächsten Angehö-
rigen und erwandten, Nachlass- und ermögensver-

•SPLEENE Kiteboarding und alle anderen ertrags-
partner haben keine anderen mündlichen oder schriftli-
chen Darstellungen abgegeben und dementieren aus-
drücklich, dass dies getan wurde (mit Ausnahme des-
sen, was hierin und in der Bedienungsanleitung des
SPLEENE Kiteboarding Produkts aufgeführt ist).

al and manuals under www.spleene.com), including all in-
structions and warnings.
When passed on to third parties: In addition, you agree to
ensure that before you hand your SPLEENE Kiteboarding
product to any other person, that other user (who takes over
the product from you permanently or temporarily) has read
and understood the entire SPLEENE Kiteboarding product
manual (including all instructions and warnings contained in
this manual).
By entering into a purchase agreement for a SPLEENE Kite-
boarding product, you agree to the following, within the legal
guidelines:

components that you may have now or in the future
against a.m.sports GmbH and any other party to the
contract.
•THE RELEASE of a.m.sports GmbH and any other party
from any claims for loss, damage, injury or expense
that you, your immediate family and relatives or any

other user of the SPLEENE Kiteboarding product may
suffer as a result of using the SPLEENE Kiteboarding
product, including the liability of a.m.sports GmbH and
any of its components under any law or contract. Upon
death or incapacity to work, all provisions herein shall
be effective and binding upon your heirs, close rela-
tives, estate and asset managers, successors in title or
legal representatives.
•SPLEENE Kiteboarding and all other contracting parties
have made no other oral or written representations and
expressly deny that they have done so (except as pro-
vided herein and in the SPLEENE Kiteboarding product
manual).

2Überblick SPLEENE FABFOIL
Overview SPLEENE FABFOIL
Das FABFOIL ist ein klassisch aufgebautes Foil.
Es besteht aus
•einem Mast, welcher mittels
einer Baseplate am Foilboard
befestig wird,
•einer Fuselage, welche wiede-
rum mit dem Mast ver-
schraubt und
•an dem gleichzeitig Front und
Back Wing befestigt sind, so-
wie
•dem Stabilzer, der gemeinsam
mit dem Back Wing ver-
schraubt ist.
The FABFOIL is a foil with classic set-
up.
It consists of
•a Mast fixed by a Baseplate
the Foilboard,
•a Fuselage, which in turn
screwed to the Mast and
•at the same Front and Back
Wing are attached as well
•the Stabilizer, which is bolted
together with the Back Wing.

2.1 Werkze ge
Tools
Für die Montage des FABFOILs werden lediglich zwei Inbus
Schlüssel der Größe 4 und 5 benötigt.
Wir empfehlen die erwendung der in unserem Webshop er-
hältliche NASP Anti-Seize Schraubenpaste. Diese verhindert
Korrosion und ein Festfressen der Schraubenverbindung.
Alle Schraubenverbindungen werden „handfest“ angezogen.
Only two Allen key sizes 4 and 5 are needed to mount the
FABFOIL.
We recommend using the NASP Anti-Seize screw paste availa-
ble in our webshop. This prevents corrosion and seizure of the
screw connection.
All screw connections are tightened "hand-tight".

2.2 Montage der F selage mit Backwing nd Stabilzer
Assembly of the F selage with Backwing and Sta-
bilzer
Zunächst kann der Back Wing gemeinsam mit dem Stabilzer
an der Fuselage angebracht werden. Hierzu werden die beiden
M6 Senkkopfschrauben lang verwendet.
First, the Back Wing can be attached together with the Stabili-
zer on the Fuselage. For this purpose, the M6 countersunk
screws long are used.

2.3 Montage des Frontwings an der F selage

Das Front Wing wird mittels der drei M6 „Senkkopfschrauben
kurz“ an der Fuselage befestigt. Es stehen 3 Front Wings zur
Auswahl: Lightwind, Freeride und Race. Im Standard-Set wird
das Freeride Front Wing ausgeliefert.
The front wing is attached to the Fuselage using the three M6
countersunk screws short. There are 3 front wings to choose
from: Lightwind, Freeride and Race. The standard set includes
the Freeride front wing.

2.4 Montage des Mastes
Assembly of the Mast
Der Mast verbindet das Foilboard mit der Fuselage. Zur Aus-
wahl steht ein 90cm sowie ein 60cm Mast. Im Standard-Set
wird der 90cm Mast ausgeliefert.
Zunächst wird die Baseplatte mittels der beiden M8 Senkkopf-
schrauben kurz am Mast befestigt. Im Anschluss kann die Fu-
selage an den Mast angeschraubt werden. Hierzu werden die
beiden M8 Senkkopfschrauben lang genutzt.
Es wird jeweils das Dichtungsplättchen in der erschraubung
angebracht, um einen Wassereintritt in den Mast zu verhin-
dern.
Das FABFOIL ist nun fertig montiert und bereit für die Montage
am Foilboard.
The Mast connects the Foilboard with the Fuselage. You can
choose between a 90cm and a 60cm Mast. The standard set
includes the 90cm Mast.
First, the Baseplate is fixed bv the two M8 countersunk head
screws short to the Mast. Afterwards the Fuselage can be
screwed to the Mast. For this, the two M8 countersunk screws
long are used.
In each case, the sealing plate is mounted in the screw con-
nection in order to prevent water from entering the mast.
The FABFOIL is now fully assembled and ready for assembly
on the Foilboard.

2.5 Montage des Foilboards
Assembly of Foilboard
Im letzten Arbeitsschritt kann das FABFOIL am Foilboard an-
gebracht werden. Die Befestigung erfolgt mittels der vier M6
Linsenkopfschrauben sowie den beiliegenden Unterlegschei-
ben.
Es stehen unterschiedliche Positionen zur Befestigung zur er-
fügung. Je weiter vorne das FABFOIL am Foilboard befestigt
ist, desto schneller steigt das Board bei gleicher Fußposition
auf.
In the last step, the FABFOIL can be attached to the Foilboard.
The attachment is made by the four M6 pan head screws and
the enclosed washers.
There are different positions available for attachment. The
farther forward the FABFOIL is attached to the Foilboard, the
faster the board rises with the same position of feet.

3Wart ng nd Pflege
Maintenance and care
Alle erschraubungen sollten in regelmäßige Abständen ge-
prüft werden. Ggf. müssen diese nachgezogen werden. Lose
Schrauben können zum erlust von Teilen während der Fahrt
führen.
Salzwasser ist recht aggressiv und kann zu Korrosion führen.
Wir empfehlen das FABFOIL nach dem Gebrauch zu demontie-
ren und die Teile mit Süßwasser abzuspülen.
Zusätzlich empfiehlt sich der Einsatz der NASP Anti-Seize
Schraubenpaste an Mastverschraubungen, um Korrosion
zwischen den Teilen zu verhindern.
All fittings should be checked at regular intervals. Possibly
they need to be retraced. Loose screws can lead to the loss of
parts while driving.
Saltwater is quite aggressive and can cause corrosion. We
recommend disassembling the FABFOIL after use and rinsing
the parts with fresh water.
In addition, it is recommended to use NASP Anti-Seize Screw
Paste on the mast-connections to prevent corrosion between
parts.
