SpyCameraCCTV SPYZ15 User manual

Congratulaons on the purchase of your SPYZ15 HD video recorder.
To get started, you will need to download the companion soware. This soware will enable you to
correctly set the date and me on the unit, as well as configure moon, audio, vibraon and schedule
recordings to your requirements.
Downloading the Soware (Windows & Mac OSX)
Using the Soware
Once installed, you will have some soware called “DVR Widget”, open this soware. Now the soware is
running, make sure the micro SD card has been installed in to your SPYZ15, and then connect it to one of
your computers USB ports using the supplied cable. The soware should now say “DVR Connected” in the
top lecorner.
The first thing we want to do is click the “Sync Date Time to DVR”, this will set the SPYZ15 date and me to
that of your PC.
Configuring Record Sengs - Express Mode
Express mode is the quickest and easiest way to configure your SPYZ15. Click “Sengs” and you will have a
selecon of pre-configured scenarios. If one of these fits how you want to use the camera, then select it
from the list, then click “Sync Sengs to DVR”. Now you can close the soware, and safely eject the SPYZ15
from your computer. Make sure the record mode switch is on the cog symbol, not the eye or person
running, power the camera on, and it will record based on the mode you selected.
Configuring Record Sengs – Custom Mode
Custom mode gives you full control over every single record opon. To enable custom mode, click
“Opon” then change Seng Mode to “Custom Mode” then click “Save Opon”. Now if you go to
“Sengs” and you’ll see a huge range of opons to play with. I’ll now go through opons and what they
mean.
Video Quality
The higher the quality the less the video is compressed, meaning beer
quality but less recording me.
Resoluon
The higher the resoluon the beer the clarity, but the larger the
recordings will be.
Frame Rate
The higher the frame rate, the smoother the
image, but the larger the recordings will be.
High:
20FPS
Low:
5FPS
Indoor Lighng Condion
This is the frequency of you electricity supply. For use in the EU this should
be set to 50Hz
Day/Night Mode
Day mode gives the best image quality and frame rate, but may struggle to
see in low-light condions. Night mode reduces the frame rate and can
cause moving objects to appear blurred, but they may sll be visible. Auto
switching will determine which mode to use based on the lighng level.
The soware for both Windows and Mac OSX can be downloaded from the SpyCameraCCTV website using
the addresses below:

Once downloaded, double click to run the file, then follow the on screen instrucons.

Orientaon
If the camera is being mounted upside down, seng to upside down will flip
the video so it sll plays back at the correct orientaon.
Timestamp
With this enabled, the date and me will be displayed on the video.
Circular Recording
With this enabled, when the storage get full, the camera will start to record
over older videos with the new recording, When disabled, the camera will
stop recording if the storage fills up.
Split File Time
This is the maximum length clip the unit can record. So if set to 15, and you
recorded for 1 hour, you would end up with 4X15 minute videos. This is also
the minimum me it will record for when triggered by moon.
Mic
Enabled will record audio with your video, Disabled won’t record audio, only
video.
LED on/off
When on, the record light on the side of the unit will flash while recording.
When off, the unit will give no indicaon it is recording.
Voice-Trigger Sensivity
When set to high/medium/low, the unit will record when a sound is heard
by the microphone. High will be triggered by quieter sounds, and low will be
triggered by louder sounds. Disabled will not record based on sound.
Vibraon-Trigger
Sensivity
When seng to high/medium/low the unit will record when it, or whatever
it is in, is moved. High will be triggered by lighter movement, low is triggered
by harsher movement. Disabled will not record based on the device being
moved.
Vibraon Standby Mode
Enables the camera to go to ‘sleep’ when not recording. This can ONLY be
used when vibraon trigger is being used. Moon and sound will not wake
the camera up, will have to be physically moved to wake up.
Moon-Trigger Sensivity
When set to high/medium/low, the camera will record when something
moves in front of the camera. High will be trigger by smaller, slower moon,
low will be trigger by larger, faster moon.
Disabled will not record based on moon.
Note: If all of the Trigger opons are set to “Disabled” then the camera will record connuously when
powered on.
Auto On/Off
You can configure the camera on turn on and offunder certain condions,
or as med in the schedule.
Once you have configured all of the sengs, click the “Sync Sengs to DVR” and safely remove the SPYZ15
from your PC. Make sure the record mode switch is on the cog symbol, not the eye or person running,
power the camera on, and it will record based on the sengs you have selected.
If at first you don’t succeed, have a play with the sengs. You might have to alter the trigger sensivies
unl you find one that works for you.
