The Square Perfect 2275 Watt Digital Video Continuous Softbox Lighting Kit/Boom
Set is used in the studio to provide any form of lighting above the subject. This
product is particularly effective as a hair light or back light, which breaks up the
subject from the background.
Continuous lighting uses a constant light source to light your subject, meaning that
your lights will stay on during the entirety of your photo shoot. Continuous lighting is
recommended for beginners. Strobe lighting uses a flash of light at the moment your
camera shutter opens to illuminate your subject. Many professionals use this type of
lighting because it offers more control of the light.
Light Stand:
· Versatile, Hardworking & Lightweight
· Black anodized aluminum
· Max Height: 6.7 Ft, Min Height: 26in
· Stable & Quick Setup
Photo Bulb:
45 watt fluorescent light bulb = 200 watt Incandescent light
bulbs each with a day light balanced color temperature of
5000K. The total output for the main lights is 2000 Watt. These
high-output daylight balanced compact fluorescent bulbs are
ideally suited for digital photography. They also have very low
heat so they don't get hot like the more common photo bulb
choices.
Light Socket:
It mounts on standard light stands. You can control each of the
light bulbs on/off. The kit has dedicated softboxes with the
speedring built right into the light socket. The included 65
Watt bulb for the boom stand equal a full 275 watts of
incandescent light all by itself!
Boom Kit:
65 Watt Bulb Included
Solid quick release lever, fully adjustable
Max fully extended height is 7 feet with a 5/8in stem, 26in foot print
Boom arm telescope extend to 5.6 ft
Quick set-up softbox that is easily set-up and broken down

1. First, open the case and remove all of the components. Then
remove the components from their boxes and bags. Verify that you
have all the parts listed on page 3. Set aside parts belonging to the
boom stand (Boom stand parts list is on page 6).
2. Assembling the Softboxes
A. Open up one of the softbox
bodies (J) and slip the body
over the light body (B) so that the silver reflective side is
facing the direction of the light sockets (Figure 1).
B. Ensure that the orientation of the softbox is such that the
two hook and loop tabs are right or left with respect to
the light body (Figure 2).
C. Insert a tension
support flex rod (E)
into one of the
corners opposite a
hook & loop tab
(Figure 3). There will
be a cup sewn into
the corner that the
white plastic tip will
fit into.
D. Insert the other end of the tension support flex rod (E)
into the appropriate hole in the light body (B) to maintain
the orientation shown in Figure 2. (See Figure 3).
Repeat for second rod on the same side.
E. Now place the uncapped ends of the 3rd and 4th tension
support rods into the light
body opposite the first two,
so that they angle out to
meet the hook & loop
tabs. Stretch the softbox
body outward until you
can secure the end of the
tension rod with the hook
& loop fastener (Figure 4).
Repeat for the other
tension rod.
F. Now screw 5 light bulbs (G) into the light body (B)
(Figure 5).

G. Install the inner diffuser lens (I) into the light box using
the hook & loop fasteners on the inside the softbox body
(Figure 6).
H. The final step in completing
the softboxes is to install the main
diffuser lenses (H) over the softbox
body by hooking one corner of the
lens over one corner of the body and
fitting the entire lens over the soft
box, then securing it on all four sides
with the attached hook & loop
fasteners (Figure 7).
4. The light stand tripods (F) are
pre-assembled, and only require
that you fold the legs outward by
loosening the locking wingnut
and sliding the legs outward so
that the tripod will stand on it’s own.
5. Loosen the locking nut that secures the legs on the light
stand and slide the base ring downwards to spread the
legs outward. This will allow the light stand to stand
upright.
6. The light stands can be raised or lowered by loosening
the wingnuts at several levels on the shafts in order to
set your lights at the desired height (Figure 8).
7. Remove the little black cap from the end of
the light stands as seen in the top of Figure 8.
8. Loosen the wingnut on the light body enough
to allow the top post of the light stand to slide
through.
9. Place the light fixture/softbox assembly on top
of the light stand and tighten the wingnut
(Figure 9).
10. Install the power cord (C) into the back of
the light body.
11. Your light stand is now complete. Repeat
the process for the second light stand. Happy
shooting!

socket [figure 5]. Take care not to over-
tighten the bulb.
4. Stretch the
softbox diffuser (C)

the front of the softbox. The

5. Remove the small black cap on the end
of the tripod stand (G) and insert the silver
end into the bracket on the boom stand
adaptor (D). Tighten the wingnut to lock
the adapter onto the tripod [figure 8].
6. Insert the boom (F) into the adaptor (D)
taking note that there are four diffrent
sizes of holes in the adaptor. Find the
hole that allows you to insert the boom
and tighten it down until it does not slip.
Once it is in place you can tighten it down
with the lever on the adaptor, and change
it’s pisition as needed for your purposes
(figure 9).
