SET UP YOUR COUNTERTOP
Square Stand and Square Reader work best when they’re placed within reach of customers. Position Square Stand so customers can enter their PIN and tip on the screen.
Put Square Reader on your counteop so customers can hold their contactless cards or devices near it and inse their chip cards.
SET UP SQUARE STAND AND SQUARE READER
1Pull out the security pin on the
left side of Square Stand. Place
your iPad into Square Stand and
connect your iPad to the
Lightning connector.
2Push the security pin into the
headset jack of your iPad to
secure it to Square Stand.
3Connect the hardware hub. It has
two cables: one that connects to
the bottom of Square Stand and one
that connects to the power adapter.
4Plug in the power adapter cable.
One end goes into the power
adapter, and the other end goes
into a power outlet.

Grab your Square Reader and
Dock for Square Reader. Remove
the retainer clip from the dock.
Slide Square Reader into the
dock’s micro USB connector.
Replace the retainer clip.

Plug the dock’s USB cable into
the hardware hub.

Download the latest version of the
Square app from the App Store.
Create or log in to your Square
account, follow the onscreen
instructions and you’re ready to
sta selling!

SECURE SQUARE STAND TO YOUR COUNTER (OPTIONAL)
For extra security, you can mount Square Stand to your counter by using one of the following methods.
HOW TO TAKE A PAYMENT
Tap
In the Square app, tap Charge and wait for a single
green light to appear on Square Reader. Your
customer can then hold a contactless card or
device near the reader to trigger payment.
Insert
In the Square app, tap Charge and wait for a single
green light to appear on the reader. Your customer
can then inse a chip card and enter the PIN on your
Square Stand. Leave the card inseed until four green
lights appear on Square Reader.
Swipe
In the Square app, tap Charge. Run your customer’s
magnetic-stripe card through the magstripe reader on
Square Stand.
Option 1: Drill mount (recommended)
You need a drill and the following items from the included toolkit: drill bit, thumbscrew and thumb nut.
1Mark the spot on your counter
where you want to secure Square
Stand. Note: Maximum counter
thickness is 44 mm (1.75 inches).
2Use the included drill bit to make
a hole in your counter.
3Line up the hole in the base of
Square Stand with the hole in
the counter.
4With the thumb nut on the
thumbscrew, carefully inse the
screw and tighten from the bottom
until the thumb nut is flush against
your counter.
Option 2: Adhesive mount
You need the included adhesive plate.
1Using a damp cloth, clean the area
where you want to secure Square
Stand. Wait for the suace to dry
completely.
2Screw the adhesive plate into
the base of the stand.
3With the base of Square Stand in
the locked position, remove the
paper backing from the adhesive
plate. Note: The plate is extremely
adhesive and difficult to remove
once placed.
4Adhere the stand to your counter
in the desired position and press
down firmly for 30 seconds. Wait
30 minutes for the adhesive to set.

You can also connect compatible accessories via Bluetooth or Ethernet, and if needed, your Square Reader via Bluetooth. Learn how at square.ca/hardware-setup.
CONNECT MORE HARDWARE
The included USB hardware hub makes it easy to connect a cash drawer, receipt printer and bar code scanner to Square Stand.
When you plug in an accessory, the Square app automatically launches a setup guide to help you install and test it.

HARDWARE PROTECTION
If something goes wrong with your Square hardware, you’re covered for up to one year. Simply go to square.ca/returns so we can make things right.

Cash drawer
1Plug your suppoed USB cash drawer into one of
the hardware hub’s pos.
2When you accept a cash payment, tap Tender in
the Square app and your cash drawer will open
automatically.
Printer
1Plug your suppoed USB receipt or order printer
into one of the hardware hub’s pos. Make sure
the printer is on.
2To customize printer settings in the Square app,
tap > Settings > Printers.
3Select an available printer to view its settings,
toggle whether it should print receipts or orders
and print a test receipt.
Bar code scanner
1
Plug your suppoed USB bar code scanner into
one of the hardware hub’s pos.

From the Square app item library, tap Edit > + to
create a new item.

Scan the item’s bar code and add relevant details.

After your item library is updated, simply scan an
item’s bar code to ring it up for sale.

PRÉPARER LE COMPTOIR
Pour une utilisation optimale de Square Stand et Square Reader, placez-les à la poée des clients. Installez Square Stand de telle soe que les clients puissent saisir leur NIP
et ajouter un pourboire à l’écran. Disposez Square Reader sur votre comptoir pour que vos clients y passent leur cae ou appareil sans contact et que vous puissiez y insérer
leur cae à puce.
CONFIGURER LE SUPPORT SQUARE STAND ET LE LECTEUR SQUARE READER
1Tirez sur la broche de sécurité sur
le côté gauche de Square Stand.
Placez votre iPad dans Square
Stand et branchez-le au
connecteur Lightning.
2Insérez la broche de sécurité dans
la prise casque de votre iPad pour
fixer celui-ci à Square Stand.
3Connectez le concentrateur. L’un
des deux câbles se branche sur
la paie inférieure de Square
Stand, l’autre sur l’adaptateur
d’alimentation.
4Branchez le câble de l’adaptateur
d’alimentation. Une extrémité
se branche sur l’adaptateur
d’alimentation, l’autre sur une
prise de courant.
5Munissez-vous de Square Reader
et de la Base pour Square Reader.
Retirez le clip de retenue de la base.
Faites glisser Square Reader dans
le connecteur micro USB de la base,
puis replacez le clip.

Branchez le câble USB de la base
dans le concentrateur.

Téléchargez la dernière version de
l’application Square sur l’App Store.
Connectez-vous à votre compte
Square ou créez un compte, puis
suivez les instructions à l’écran.

FIXER SQUARE STAND AU COMPTOIR (FACULTATIF)
Pour une sécurité accrue, vous pouvez fixer Square Stand à votre comptoir à l’aide d’une des méthodes suivantes.
ACCEPTER UN PAIEMENT
Sans contact
Dans l’application Square, touchez Facturer et
attendez qu’un voyant ve s’allume sur Square Reader.
Le client peut alors passer sa cae ou son appareil
sans contact à proximité du lecteur pour déclencher
le paiement.
En insérant la carte
Dans l’application Square, touchez Facturer et attendez
qu’un témoin ve unique s’allume sur le lecteur. Votre
client peut alors insérer une cae à puce et saisir son
NIP sur votre Square Stand. Laissez la cae insérée
jusqu’à ce que quatre témoins ves apparaissent sur le
Square Reader.
En glissant la carte
Dans l’application Square, touchez Facturer. Glissez la
cae à bande magnétique de votre client dans le lecteur
de Square Stand.
Option 1 : fixation par perçage (recommandée)
Munissez-vous d’une perceuse et des outils fournis suivants : mèche de perceuse, vis moletée et écrou moleté.
1Faites une marque sur votre
comptoir à l’endroit où vous
souhaitez fixer Square Stand.
Remarque : l’épaisseur du comptoir
ne doit pas dépasser 45 mm.
2Servez-vous de la mèche fournie
pour percer un trou dans votre
comptoir.
3Alignez le trou percé dans le
comptoir avec celui du socle
de Square Stand.
4Placez l’écrou moleté sur la vis
moletée, puis insérez délicatement
la vis et serrez de bas en haut
jusqu’à ce que l’écrou arrive au
niveau du comptoir.
Option 2 : fixation par adhésif
Servez-vous de la plaque adhésive fournie.
1À l’aide d’un linge humide, nettoyez
la suace sur laquelle vous souhaitez
fixer Square Stand et laissez-la
sécher complètement.
2Vissez la plaque adhésive au
socle de Square Stand.
3Une fois le socle de Square Stand
bien en position, retirez le papier
protégeant la plaque adhésive.
Remarque : la plaque compoe un
adhésif extrêmement puissant et sera
difficile à retirer une fois en place.
4Faites adhérer Square Stand au
comptoir dans la position souhaitée,
puis appuyez fermement pendant 30
secondes. Comptez 30 minutes pour
bien laisser l’adhésif prendre.
FRANÇAIS

Vous pouvez aussi connecter des accessoires compatibles à l’aide de Bluetooth ou Ethernet et, au besoin, connecter votre Square Reader par l’intermédiaire de Bluetooth.

CONNECTER PLUS D’APPAREILS
Le concentrateur USB fourni vous permet de connecter un tiroir-caisse, une imprimante de reçus et un lecteur de codes à barres à Square Stand.
Lorsque vous branchez un accessoire, l’application Square lance automatiquement un guide de configuration pour vous aider à l’installer et à le tester.

Tiroir-caisse
1Branchez votre tiroir-caisse USB pris en charge à
l’un des pos du concentrateur.
2Lorsque vous acceptez un paiement en espèces,
touchez le bouton Encaisser dans l’application
Square pour déclencher l’ouveure automatique
du tiroir-caisse.
Imprimante
1Branchez votre imprimante de reçus ou de bons
de commande USB prise en charge à l’un des pos
du concentrateur. Assurez-vous que l’imprimante
est allumée.
2Pour personnaliser les paramètres de votre
imprimante dans l’application Square,
touchez > Paramètres > Imprimantes.
3Sélectionnez une imprimante disponible pour
en afficher les paramètres, activer ou désactiver
l’impression de reçus ou de bons de commande
et imprimer un reçu test.
Lecteur de codes à barres

Branchez votre lecteur de codes à barres USB pris
en charge à l’un des pos du concentrateur.

Dans le catalogue d’aicles de l’application Square,
touchez Modifier, puis le signe + pour créer un
nouvel aicle.
3Scannez le code à barres de l’aicle et ajoutez les
détails souhaités.
4
Une fois votre catalogue mis à jour, il vous suffit de
scanner le code à barres d’un aicle pour l’ajouter
à une vente.
