Gratulation! Sie haben soeben den Edelstahl-Wasserkocher
KURT erworben. Er wird Ihnen viel Freude machen und Ihr
Wasser in Kürze zum Kochen bringen.
Dieses Gerät ist für den Haushalt und nicht für den
gewerblichen Einsatz bestimmt. Nur Wasser erhitzen,
keinesfalls eine Suppe (hinterlässt fetten Geschmack und
kann überkochen), Milch (brennt an, kocht über) und
fertige Getränke wie Tee oder Kaffee (Kanne verfärbt sich).
Gerätebeschreibung
Bitte klappen Sie die erste Seite der Gebrauchsanleitung
auf. Dort sind die einzelnen Geräteteile abgebildet und
numeriert.

Wichtige Sicherheitshinweise
• Bitte lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanleitung genau durch,
bevor Sie KURT das erste Mal in Betrieb nehmen, und
bewahren Sie sie zum späteren Nachschlagen gut auf.
• Kinder vom Gerät fernhalten.
• Das Gerät nur gemäss Typenschild-Angabe anschliessen
und betreiben.
• Das Gerät nicht anschliessen, wenn die Zuleitung
(Netzkabel) oder das Gerät Beschädigungen aufweisen.
• Netz-Stecker nach jedem Gebrauch oder im Fehlerfall
ziehen.
• Zuleitung nicht:
- mit heissen Teilen in Berührung bringen;
- über scharfe Kanten ziehen.
• Eine beschädigte Zuleitung darf nur durch einen
autorisierten Kundendienst ersetzt werden, um
Gefährdungen zu vermeiden.
• Ausgediente Geräte sichtbar zerstören und ordnungsge-
mäss entsorgen. Nähere Informationen auch zur
Entsorgung der Verpackung erhalten Sie von Ihrem
Händler oder der Gemeinde- bzw. Stadtverwaltung.
• Die Zuleitung darf die Kanne nicht berühren, da diese
heiss wird.

• Nicht einschalten, wenn die Kanne leer ist.
Der Edelstahl verfärbt sich und kann beschädigt werden.
• Leere Kanne nicht füllen, wenn sie heiss ist: Das Gerät
kann durch den Temperaturschock beschädigt werden.
• Kanne nur mit dem zugehörigen Sockel verwenden, der
mit dem Wasserkocher geliefert wird.
Inbetriebnahme / Bedienung
1. Sockel und Kanne nicht auf oder neben eine heisse
Oberfläche stellen. Deckel durch eine Drehung von
ca. 60° im Gegenuhrzeigersinn öffnen und abheben.
Kanne mit gewünschter Menge Wasser füllen, dabei
Wasserstandsanzeige im Innern der Kanne beachten.
Höchstens bis MAX einfüllen! Verbrühungsgefahr
durch überkochendes Wasser.
2. Deckel wieder schliessen (ca. 60° im Uhrzeigersinn,
bis der Griff des Deckels mit dem Kannengriff und
dem Ausguss eine Linie bildet), sonst funktioniert die
Dampfstop-Automatik nicht.
3. Kanne nur auf einen trockenen Sockel stellen.
Sollte der Sockel nass sein:
- Netz-Stecker ziehen;
- Sockel und Fläche unter dem Sockel mit einem
saugfähigen Küchentuch abtrocknen;
- Netz-Stecker wieder einstecken.
4. Ein-/Aus-Schalter (2) vorne runterdrücken. Das Gerät
heizt auf und die Kontroll-Lampe (3) leuchtet.
5. Die Heizung wird abgeschaltet, wenn:
- das Wasser kocht
(bei aufgesetztem Deckel, Punkt 2)
- das Gerät eingeschaltet wird, aber kein Wasser in
der Kanne ist.
Nach dem Einschalten Deckel niemals öffnen –
Verbrühungsgefahr!
Reinigung / Wartung
Netz-Stecker ziehen. Kanne aussen und Sockel nur
feucht abwischen, niemals in Wasser tauchen oder in
Geschirrspüler geben!
Bei leichter Verschmutzung der Kanne etwas Essig
einfüllen, ca. 30 Minuten stehen lassen und mit einer
Geschirrbürste reinigen. Bei starker Verschmutzung den
Essig kurz aufkochen lassen, wobei natürlich ein scharfer
Geruch entsteht.
Man kann die Kanne auch mit einem Spülmittel reinigen
(nicht mit dem Spülmittel aufkochen!)
Nach dem Reinigen mit klarem Wasser ausspülen. Das
Gerät ist wartungsfrei.
Entkalken
Kanne regelmässig entkalken, spätestens wenn
- die Zeit zum Kochen länger wird;
- das Gerät lauter wird:
- Ablagerungen zu sehen sind.
Die Kanne kann mit Essig entkalkt werden (siehe Reinigung
/ Wartung) oder mit einem Entkalker. Entkalker nach
Hersteller-Angaben dosieren und in die Kanne füllen. Beim
Entkalken gelten folgende Anweisungen:
- Lösung 5 Minuten stehen lassen
- Gerät einschalten, nach 1 Minute ausschalten
und 10 Minuten stehen lassen. Mindestens 3 mal
wiederholen, eventuell öfter, je nach Grad der
Verkalkung. Lösung keinesfalls aufkochen! Das
Gerät könnte beschädigt werden.
- Kanne und Deckel mit klarem Wasser ausspülen.

Congratulations! You have just purchased KURT the
stainless steel water kettle. KURT will be a great joy to you,
boiling your water in short time.
This appliance is intended for household use and is not
suitable for commercial use. Use the appliance only for
heating water and not under any circumstances for soup
(leaves behind a taste of grease and can boil over), milk
(burns and boils over) and pre-prepared drinks such as tea
or coffee (stain the kettle).
Description of the appliance
Please turn to the first page of the operating instructions,
where the individual parts of the appliance are illustrated
and numbered.

Important safety instructions
• Please read the instructions for use carefully and keep
them in a safe place for future reference.
• Keep children away from the appliance.
• Connect and use the appliance only as specified on the
rating plate.
• Do not connect the appliance if either the mains cable or
the appliance itself appear damaged.
• Always unplug the appliance after use or in the event of
a fault.
• Do not:
- allow the mains cable to touch hot parts
- pull the cable across sharp edges
• If the mains cable is damaged, it should only be replaced
by an authorised Service Department in order to avoid all
risk of injury.
• When the appliance has reached the end of its working
life, it should be clearly destroyed and disposed of
properly.
• The mains cable must not touch the kettle which
becomes hot during use.
• Do not switch the appliance on when the kettle is
empty. Stainless steel parts will become discoloured and

may be damaged.
• Do not fill the empty kettle while it is still hot. The
sudden change in temperature could cause damage to
the appliance.
• Use the kettle only with the corresponding base that is
delivered with the appliance.
Setting to work / operation
1. Do not place the kettle and base on or close to a hot
surface. Open the lid by turning it anti-clockwise of
about 60° and lift if off. Fill the kettle with the desired
amount of water. Observe the water level indicator
inside the kettle and do not fill in more than 1,5 litres.
Risk of scalding if the water boils over.
2. Close the lid again (about 60° clockwise until the cover
is in line with the spout and handle) – otherwise the
automatic steam stop function will not work.
3. Place the kettle onto a dry base. If the base is wet:
- pull out the mains plug;
- dry the base and the surface underneath with a
tea towel or paper kitchen roll;
- plug in again.
4. Press the On/Off button (2), front down. The kettle will
start to heat the water and the indicator light (3.) will
come on.
5. The heating element will switch off when:
- the water boils (only if the cover is closed, see 2.)
- the kettle is switched on but there is no water
in the kettle
Never open the lid once the kettle has been switched on
– risk of scalding!
Cleaning / maintenance
Pull out the mains plug. Wipe the outside of the kettle and
the base with a damp cloth only; never immerse them in
water or place them in a dishwasher.
If the kettle has become slightly stained, pour in some
vinegar, leave it to stand for half an hour and then clean it
out with a washing-up brush. If the staining is more severe,
bring the vinegar to the boil, whereby this will of course
give rise to a sharp smell.
The Kettle can also be cleaned with detergent (do not boil
the detergent!).
After the kettle has been cleaned, rinse it out with clean
water. This appliance is maintenance-free.
Descaling
Descale the kettle regularly, at the latest when
- the time required to boil water becomes longer
- the appliance becomes noisier
- deposits can be seen
The kettle can be descaled with either vinegar (see section
on „Cleaning / maintenance“) or by using a descaler. Add
descaler in accordance with the manufacturer‘s instructions
and fill it in the kettle.
The procedure for actually descaling the kettle is as follows:
- Leave the solution to stand for 5 minutes
- Switch the kettle on and then off again after
1 minute. Leave the solution to stand for a
further 10 minutes. Repeat this procedure
at least 3 times, more frequently if required,
depending on the build up of scale. Under no
circumstances allow the solution to boil. This
could damage the appliance.
- Rinse the kettle and lid with clean water.

Félicitations! Vous venez de faire l‘acquisition d‘une
bouilloire KURT fabriqué d‘acier inoxydable. Il vous
apportera de multiples satisfactions et l‘eau bouillira
rapidement.
Cet appareil est destiné à un usage domestique. Il ne peut
pas être utilisé à des fins industrielles ou commerciales.
Utilisez-le pour chauffer de l‘eau uniquement, en aucun cas
de la soupe (elle déborderait et laisserait un arrière-goût
gras), du lait (il brûlerait et débordait) ni les boissons déjà
préparées, comme le thé ou le café (elles décoloreraient la
bouilloire).
Description de l‘appareil
Ouvrez la notice d‘utilisation à la première page. Vous
y verrez les différentes parties de KURT, elles sont
numérotées.

Précautions de sécurité importantes
• Veuillez lire la notice d‘utilisation attentivement et
de bout en bout avant la première utilisation de KURT.
Conservez-la soigneusement afin de pouvoir la consulter
ultérieurement.
• Tenez l‘appareil hors de portée des enfants.
• Branchez et faites fonctionner l‘appareil en respectant
les indications figurant sur la plaque signalétique.
• Ne branchez pas l‘appareil s‘il est défectueux ou si son
câble d‘alimentation est endommagé.
• Débranchez la fiche mâle de la prise de courant après
chaque utilisation ou en cas de panne.
• Câble d‘alimentation:
- Ne le mettez pas en contact avec des objets
brûlants;
- Veillez à ce qu‘il ne frotte pas sur des arrêtes
vives.
• Afin d‘écarter tout danger, seul un service après vente
autorisé est habilité à remplacer un câble d‘alimentation
endommagé.
• Détruisez de façon visible les appareils hors d‘usage et

mettez-les au rebut en respectant la réglementation. De
même, pour obtenir des information plus complètes sur
la mise au rebut des emballages, veuillez vous adresser à
votre revendeur ou à votre localité/municipalité.
• Le câble d‘alimentation ne doit pas entrer en contact
avec la bouilloire car cette dernière devient brûlante.
• N‘allumez pas l‘appareil si la bouilloire est vide.
L‘acier inoxydable changerait de couleur et pourrait
s‘endommager.
• Ne remplissez pas la bouilloire tant qu‘elle est encore
chaude: le choc thermique pourrait l‘endommager.
• Veuillez utiliser la bouilloire uniquement avec le socle
(la base) correspondant et qui est fourni avec.
Mise en service / Utilisation
1. Ne placez pas le socle ou la bouilloire sur ou à la côté
d‘une surface très chaude. Ouvrez le couvercle en
lui faisant faire un tour dans le sens antihoraire (env.
60°) et enlevez le. Remplissez la bouilloire tout en
surveillant l‘indicateur de niveau d‘eau. Versez 1,5 litre
d‘eau au maximum. Si l‘eau déborde, risque de vous
ébouillanter.
2. Refermez (env. 60° dans le sens horaire jusqu‘au point
ou le couvercle est en ligne avec la poignée) pour que
l‘arrêt vapeur automatique puisse fonctionner.
3. Posez la bouilloire uniquement sur un socle sec.
Si le socle est mouillé:
- Débranchez la fiche mâle de la prise de courant;
- Séchez le socle et sa surface d‘appui avec un
essuie-tout absorbant;
- Rebranchez la fiche mâle dans la prise de
courant.
4. Poussez l‘interrupteur Marche/Arrêt (2) vers l‘ouverture.
Le voyant de contrôle (3.) s‘allume et l‘appareil se met à
chauffer. La bouilloire se met en marche.
5. Le chauffage s‘éteint lorsque
- L‘eau bout (seulement avec le couvercle fermé,
voir 2.);
- L‘appareil est allumé mais que la bouilloire est
vide.
N‘ouvrez jamais le couvercle une fois l‘appareil est en
marche – Risque de vous ébouillanter.
Nettoyage / Entretien
Débranchez la fiche mâle de la prise de courant. Essuyez
le socle et l‘extérieur de la bouilloire uniquement avec un
essuie-tout humide. Ne les plongez jamais dans l‘eau. Ne
les mettez pas dans le lave-vaisselle.
Si l‘appareil est peu sale, versez un peu de vinaigre dans la
bouilloire puis nettoyez-la une demi-heure plus tard avec
une brosse à vaisselle. En présence de salissures tenaces,
faites bouillir le vinaigre, ce qui produira évidemment une
odeur forte.
Vous pouvez également nettoyer la bouilloire avec du
produit à vaisselle (ne pas bouillir!).
Une fois le nettoyage terminé, rince à l‘eau claire.
Détartrage
Détartrez la bouilloire régulièrement, notamment si
- Elle met plus de temps pour porter l‘eau à
ébullition;
- Elle fait un peu plus de bruit;
- Des dépôts apparaissent dedans.
Vous pouvez détartrer la bouilloire avec du vinaigre (voir
section Nettoyage / Entretien) ou au moyen d‘un produit
détartrant. Dosez le produit selon les indications données
par le fabricant puis remplissez la bouilloire. Lors du
détartrage proprement dit, veuillez suivre les instructions
suivantes:
- Laissez agir la solution pendant 5 minutes.
- Mettez l‘appareil en marche puis éteignez-le au
bout d‘une minute. Laissez agir 10 minutes.
Répétez cette opération au moins trois fois,
plus si nécessaire, selon la quantité de tartre. Ne
laissez en aucun cas bouillir la solution car ceci
pourrait endommager l‘appareil.
- Rincez à l‘eau claire la bouilloire et le couvercle.
