Stanley AudioHS-QSG Assembly instructions

Health and Safety
IMPORTANT
When installing the hardware the following should be noted. Please read
all these instructions and save them for later use.
The installation of this system must meet the requirements of the
country of installation’s National Wiring Regulations (BS7671, IEE
National Wiring Regulations in the UK) and EN60950-1. It must only be
carried out by suitably competent, qualified and experienced personnel.
Failure to do so can result in injury or death by electric shock.
It must also comply with any local Fire, Health and Safety regulations. A
secured door that may be part of an escape route must always be fitted
with the following.
lA fail-safe lock so that the door will be released if the power
fails. Ideally a magnetic lock should be used as these are less
likely to jam or seize.
lA normally-closed break-glass or manual pull in the lock supply
wiring so that in an emergency the fail-safe lock can be
immediately depowered.
Failure to do so may lead to injury or death in the event of a fire.
The controller must be earthed.
Isolate the controller power supply before working on the controller.
Failure to do so may damage the unit.
Cabling
The cabling used in the control systems, should be routed in a manner to
avoid running alongside any heavy load switching signals either within
equipment or wiring.
If this is unavoidable, cross the cable at right angles every 3.3–6.6ft / 1–
2m to reduce the interference.
ESD Precautions
The product contains static-sensitive devices and earth grounding strap
should be worn when handling the hardware.
RFID Devices
RFID technology is now widely used in a number of industries, it is
possible that interaction between your credential and other devices in
the vicinity may cause incorrect operation or recognition. Should you
suspect that you have experienced such a problem, ensure the interfering
device is out of range.
This only applies if any RFID devices have been fitted.
WEEE Directive and Product Disposal
At the end of its serviceable life this product should
not be treated as household or general waste. It
should be handed over to the applicable collection
point for the recycling of electrical and electronic
equipment or returned to the supplier for disposal.
Lithium Batteries
Failure to read the following guidelines carefully may result in injury.
There is a danger of explosion if lithium batteries are incorrectly replaced
or handled.
lEnsure that lithium batteries are never short circuited.
lAlways store lithium batteries separately in non-conducting
materials.
lNever replace a lithium battery with the incorrect type.
lLithium batteries are classified by the federal government as
non-hazardous waste and are safe for disposal in the normal
municipal waste stream. Fully discharge prior to disposal.
lLithium batteries contain recyclable materials and are accepted
for recycling by the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation’s
(RBRC) Battery Recycling Program. Call 1 800 8 BATTERY or visit
http://www.rbrc.org for more information.

1 Overview
This installation guide is intended only as a summary and checklist
for installers familiar with this equipment.
Cable specifications
The door entry panel and back door reader is connected to the
interface board using CAT5e cable. All other audio, video and data
communication within the system is carried over an isolated 2-
core 0.75 mm wire bus.
Max length (m)
CAT5e interface board to entry panel / reader 3
2-core 0.75mm interface board to line card 75
2-core 0.75mm line card to handsets / apartment station 100
2 Product Mounting
1. Unscrew the one screw fixing the telephone lid.
2. Feed the installation cable through one of the two cable
entries on the back casing of the audio telephone.
3. Secure the back of the audio telephone to the wall with
suitable fixings, positioned on the three fixing points provided
within the telephone cover.
4. Connect the wiring, replace the lid and screw.
Connections
The line card terminations for handsets are labelled "Tel 1" up to
"Tel 16". Each terminal block is also labelled 12 V and 0 V where
appropriate.
T1 Terminal Block
1 +12V Input +12V Supply
2 0V Input GND Supply
3 EXT_SND_OUT Ext Sounder Signal
4 EXT_SND_OUT_0V Ext Sounder 0V
5 BEACON_12V_OUT Ext Beacon Fused +12V
6 BEACON_OUT Ext Beacon Signal
3 Configuration
Once the equipment has been mounted and connected as
recommended, a configuration procedure must be followed to
setup the unit following the first power up before use.
This will set up the Audio Phone Name and the Network
Management Password (NMP) - both of which must be the same
as one of the segments of the server.
1. Power up the unit and it will automatically enter Ship Mode.
The Priv/Call LED will illuminate orange and the Door LED will be flashing.
2. Connect into the Server RJ45 and use a host PC to browse to the Server web-page at 192.168.1.200.
3. In Audio Phone Configuration:
lSet the Telephone Name as required.
lSelect A- or B- segment of the Server (this depends on the number of Audio/Video Phones).
lLeave the default selection of "Factory-ship Audio Phone".
4. Click Run Audio Phone Config.
5. The Audio Phone configuration script will run taking up to 60 secs, with the Priv/Call LED turning Green and an automatic reset of the
Audio Phone.
The Audio Phone should now connect to the Server and register as a valid client.

Only configure ONE handset at a time.
Good practise
1. When configuring, only power one handset at a time.
2. Once configured, LEAVEITPOWEREDON. This will prevent the system from generating any conflicts when assigning addresses to
handsets.
3. Each handset should be powered and configured in this way.
4. If all handsets are attached to the linecard at the beginning and it is energised, all of the handsets will attempt to request an address at
the same time.
We recommend programming all handsets BEFORE installing in any residential apartments.
4 Product Settings
Only the Privacy Time Period setting can be altered on the Audio
Telephone. Using a host PC click on Listed Clients, select the
Telephone Name and allow the browser re-direction to happen. In
the Handset Setting section adjust the Privacy Time Period as
required and click Submit.
