OPERATION
This appliance is designed to store frozen food or freeze fresh food.
Leave the appliance running on setting No. 5 for approximately 24 hours
before storing food. The thermostat should then be set according to the
instructions below.
THERMOSTAT SETTING
• The recommended normal setting is position 3 to 4.
• When the thermostat control knob is set to the ‘0’ position, this shows
that the thermostat is switched off and no cooling is achieved.
• Rotating the control knob in the fridge compartment from setting ’1’ to ‘5’
will achieve varying degrees of cooling, with ‘5’ being the coldest.
• As a guide, the colder the setting, the longer food can be stored.
• SF setting (Superfreeze) is used for the quick freezing of fresh food. The
compressor will run continuously and the lowest temperature possible
will be reached. It is important to adjust the thermostat back to a normal
setting once the fresh food has been frozen.
NOTE 1. The orange indicator lamp will show when the compressor is
running.
NOTE 2. The ambient temperature (room temperature), the temperature
and quantity of recently stored food and how often the door is opened, will
all affect the temperature inside the appliance.
CONTROL PANEL
Orange Indicator Light: This is the compressor indicator light and will
always show when the compressor is running. When SF is selected, it
will show continuously.
Green Indicator Light: This is the power indicator light and will
automatically show when the power is switched on.
Red Indicator Light: This is the alarm indicator light and will only show
when the temperature inside the freezer is not cold enough. It will show
when the power is rst turned on until it has cooled sufciently for use.

FOOD STORAGE
• This freezer is designed for freezing fresh food, for storing frozen food
for the period of time indicated on the packaging and for making ice.
• Do not put fresh and warm food against frozen food as it may partially
thaw the frozen food.
• Do not put warm food straight into the freezer. It should be left to cool at
room temperature before being stored in the freezer.
• When freezing fresh food (i.e. sh or meat) it is advisable to divide it
into portions according to how much will be required at any one time.
• To optimise preservation quality, ensure that all food is either thoroughly
wrapped in foil or lm, is placed in freezer bags or placed in suitable
containers with sealing lids.
• Different items being frozen at the same time can be separated by dry
pieces of packaging to prevent them from freezing to each other and
forming a large block.
• If freezing a large amount of fresh food at one time, it is advisable to turn
the thermostat to the coldest setting (SF) for 24 hours before adding the
fresh food. After a further 24 hours, return the thermostat control knob
to the usual setting.
• Storing frozen food; the instructions shown on the frozen food
packages should always be followed carefully and if no information is
provided, food should not be stored for more than 3 months from the
purchase date.
• When buying frozen food; ensure that it has been frozen at suitable
temperatures and that the packaging is intact.
• Frozen food should be transported in suitable containers and transferred
to your freezer in the shortest possible time.
• Storage life of frozen food; this depends on – the room temperature,
the thermostat setting, how often the door is opened, the type of food
and the length of time taken to transport the food to your home. Always
follow the instructions on the package and never exceed the maximum
storage life indicated.
• In the event of power failure or malfunction of the appliance, avoid
opening the door if possible to keep food frozen for longer.
• If any frozen food begins to thaw it must not be re-frozen and must be
used as soon as possible.

- 8 -
• If you want to use the maximum capacity, you can remove the drawers
and store the food directly onto the cooling surface. This will enable you
to use the entire volume.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
• Always switch the appliance power supply off or unplug it before
commencing cleaning or maintenance.
• Do not clean the appliance by pouring water into it.
• The interior should be cleaned periodically with a solution of warm water
and bicarbonate of soda.
• Clean the accessories separately with warm soapy water. Do not put
them in the dishwasher.
• Do not use abrasive cleaning tools or soaps. After washing, rinse with
clean water and dry carefully. When cleaning is complete, reconnect the
power supply with dry hands and switch the appliance on.
• If the appliance is going to be left switched off for any length of time,
clean the interior and prop the door open to prevent a build up of odour.
• The door gasket should also be kept clean and food residue removed as
soon as possible. Use warm soapy water and a soft cloth.
DEFROSTING
• This appliance should be defrosted periodically to maintain maximum
efciency. It should be carried out when there is a build up of approximately
3-5 mm of frost.
• Do not use sharp metal objects for this operation as they may puncture
the refrigerant tubes causing irreparable damage.
• It is advisable to reduce the amount of frozen food stored before
defrosting and select thermostat setting 5 for 24 hours prior to carrying
out the process.
• Remove all frozen food and if a temporary alternative freezer is not
available, wrap in newspaper and place in a cool place. Cool boxes or
cool bags can be used to help keep the food frozen during defrosting.
• Leave the freezer door open and allow the frost to thaw. This can
be accelerated by placing bowls or trays of hot water in the freezer
compartment.
• Absorb the defrost water with towels similar and dry the interior
thoroughly with a clean cloth once all the frost has thawed.

- 9 -
• Restart the appliance and return the frozen food into the freezer
compartment.
• The food may have started thawing and should be used within a short
period of time.

SERVICE AND SPARE PARTS
Should you experience any difculty using your appliance at any time, it
may be an operational problem and not a fault. Please check the following
points before calling our customer services team.
THE APPLIANCE IS NOT WORKING - Check that;
• There is power to the appliance.
• There is power to the socket being used.
• The thermostat is set between 1 and 5 (not ‘0’).

- 10 -
THE APPLIANCE PERFORMS POORLY - Check that;
• The appliance needs defrosting.
• The thermostat is not set too low (e.g. 1 or 2)
• The door is closed properly.
• The air ventilation holes are not obstructed.
• The environment where the appliance is being used is not outside the
ambient temperature range required (10oC to 32oC).
THE APPLIANCE IS NOISEY
• The cooling gas which circulates in the cooling circuit may make a slight
noise (e.g. bubbling sound) even when the compressor is not running.
Do not worry as this is quite normal.
• If there are other sounds, check that the appliance secure and level (not
rocking).
FROSTING
• In normal use, the rear panel inside the freezer will have a covering
of frost. This is normal and does not indicate a fault. Defrosting is only
required when the frost has built up to a thick layer (approx 5mm) which
will occur over a long period of time (depending on usage).
