NOTICE
DO NOT unbox sensors until on
site and in the assigned space
(QTY TAG). Sensors are
pre-packaged per space and
pre-assigned to spaces in
Workplace Advisor.
THERE IS A RISK OF EXPLOSION IF THE BATTERY IS REPLACED BY AN INCORRECT
TYPE. DISPOSE OF USED BATTERIES ACCORDING TO THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT
COME PACKAGED WITH REPLACEMENT BATTERIES.
WARNING
ACTIVATE
1. Open package for space and verify you have the correct number of sensors/mounting brackets by referencing the installation plan.
2. Activate sensors by opening the sensor and pulling out the battery tab as shown below (Note: This must be done in the space the sensor is assigned to;
activating the sensor in any other location may cause the sensor to not communicate properly when installed.)
- Push/slide lock at end of sensor to unlock position - Slide off rear housing (1) and pull battery tab (2)
- Immediately after battery is activated, turn the sensor over to see the LED flashing pattern.
After the LED blinks (RED-YELLOW-GREEN) the sensor will be activated.
Once the sensor is activated:
• The LED will begin to blink RED continuously until paired.
• If pairing was successful, the LED will blink (GREEN-GREEN-GREEN).
• Once the sensor is paired, the LED will NOT blink again.
- Slide rear housing back in place and lock shut. Sensor will not fit in the mounting bracket unless the housing is locked.
- Confirm sensor online status by looking at Device Manager in Workplace Advisor. If sensor is not online, begin troubleshooting.

PLACE
Rules of Placement (fixed and adjustable-height tables)
1. Sensor lens should point towards the occupant where motion will be sensed and not blocked by any objects.
2. Sensor must be located correctly, according to position guidelines noted below:
a. The sensor should ideally be placed 16"-19"from the front edge of the worksurface, the sensor MUST be
placed a minimum of 6" from the edge of the worksurface, but 16"-19" is best for optimal operation.
b. The sensor lens should be centered within the occupant’s primary work area.
c. If the sensor cannot be mounted 16"-19" from the front edge of the worksurface, be sure to adjust
sensor alignment tab as noted in the table below.
d. If there is a keyboard table, slide keyboard table all the way in. Place sensor on the underside of the
keyboard table 16"-19" from edge of worksurface or a minimum of 6" from edge of worksurface; be
sure to adjust sensor alignment tab as noted in the table below.
3. To support ideal gateway pairing, DO NOT activate sensors before they are in the space where they will be installed.
4. If possible, avoid installing on metal surfaces; mounting to metal surfaces can reduce connection range to gateway
and/or data loss.
5. The sensor alignment tab must be inserted into the correct slot in the mounting bracket and the mounting bracket
should be on the left or right depending on the slot position, as noted below:

PLACE
1. Sensor must be located according to the position guidelines on the previous page.
2. Both adhesive strip and mechanical screw mounting methods must be used to mount sensor.
3. Make sure surfaces are clean prior to placing sensor. Use supplied alcohol wipe to clean surface.
Allow at least 15 seconds to dry. There should be no visible moisture after drying completely.
4. Remove the backing off on the adhesive strip that is pre-installed on the mounting bracket.
5. Apply bracket base to the surface and apply firm pressure for a least 15 seconds.
6. Insert the screw provided in mounting kit into one of the two holes on the mounting bracket (Figure 1)
and screw to bottom of worksurface. DO NOT overtighten as this can break the mounting bracket.
7. Insert mounting bracket base into the mounting bracket cover using the alignment pin, rotating the
base until it snaps into position (see Figure 2).
8. The sensor alignment tab must be inserted into the correct slot in the mounting bracket
following the position guidelines and table on the previous page (Figure 3).
If in doubt about installation placement, contact Steelcase Customer Experience (CX).
NOTICE
Once the sensor is inserted into the
bracket it will lock into place and cannot
be removed without disassembly.
If a sensor needs to be removed or
repositioned into a different mounting slot,
see removal directions on the next page.
