Operation
Thisunit maybeoperatedinoneofthefollowingmodes:
Standalonemode:Utilizingnumerousbuiltinlightingprogramsand its
internalmicrophoneforsoundactivation.
Slavemode:Connectedtoanotherlamp,mirroringtheoperationofthat
lampinStandalonemode.
ExternalDMXcontrol:Alsoinslavemode, withcontrolbeing
accomplishedbyanindustrystandardDMX-512controller.
Initially Powering theUnit
Uponinitialpowerup, theunit will displayitsdefault DMXaddress, 001.
TheletterAwill preceedthis, indicatingit isin3-channelDMXmode.
Notethatthedisplaywill onlyremainlit foraperiod ofapproximately20
seconds.Thispreventsthebrightness oftheLEDdisplayfrominterfering
withscenery. Pressinganybutton will relightthedisplay.
Operating Modes
Asmentionedabove, thestand-alonemodeutilizes multipleinternal
programstoprovideanassortmentofautomaticoperations. While
operatinginthismanner, theunit isalsooperatingas aDMX“master”, in
thatanyconnectedPARlampsin“Slave” modewill mimictheoperation
ofthislamp. Byplacingthislampin“Slave” mode, it allowsit tobe
controlledbyanotherlamp, orDMXcontroller.
Ifthisunitisgoingtobeusedinstand-alonemode, skiptothe Built-In
ProgramMode section.
Selecting a DMXMode
Iftheunit isgoingtobecontrolledbyanexternalDMXcontroller,slave
fromanotherLEDLAMP,orsetas aDMXmaster,you mustfirst
determinewhetheryou wouldliketooperatetheunitin3,4or16 channel
DMXmode. Naturally, 16 DMXchannelsoffersthegreatestflexibility,

whilethree channelsoffersthesimplestoperation, fourchannelmode
beingacompromise betweenthetwo.Thebestsettingwill dependupon
yourindividualsituation.
Toselectoneofthese modes, press theMENU button,thedisplaywill
lightA001. Press theDOWNbutton,onetime, thedisplaywill readeither
Nod1, Nod2 orNod3indicatingtheDMXmode.PressingtheENTER
buttonwill cause the“N”toblink, you will thenbeabletoselectoneof
thefollowingmodes:
•Nod3–3CH RGB
•Nod2–4CH RGB+Dimmer
•Nod1–16CH RGB+individuallampcontrol+Program
Setting DMXAddress
Once thedesiredmodeisselected,Press TheUPbuttonandA001will
againappear.PressingtheENTERkeywill cause the“A”toblink,
allowingtheDMXaddress tobeset. Use theUPorDOWNbuttonto
selectthefirstDMXaddress oftheunit.You mayselectanyDMXaddress
between001 and512.Press ENTERtoconfirm.Addrwill showagain.
Theunit isnowreadytooperateinSLAVE mode.
Built-InProgramMode
TosettoProgramMode, press the MENU buttontoreturntotheroot
menu. Fromtherootmenu, you canuse the UP or DOWN buttonsto
scroll through all builtinprograms, as well as selectthenumberofDMX
channelsandtheDMXaddress. Followingarealistofthebuilt-in
programs.Withineachprogramistheabilitytoselectanumericvalue
between00~100. Forexample, ifyou selectthefirstprogram, RL––, you
thenpress ENTER, and 100will bedisplayed. UsingtheUPand DOWN
keys,you mayselectanyvaluefrom00~100. Once thedesiredvalueis
achieved, press ENTERtolockthatvalue.

DMX-512 Cables
DMXcables utilize 110ohm, twistedpair construction, surroundedbya
shield, and connectedwithindustrystandardXLRconnectors. Industry
standardcables areavailablein3-pinor5-pinconfigurations. Thisfixture
utilizes the3-pintype.Whilethese cables appearvirtuallythesameas
conventionalmicrophoneorbalancedaudioXLRcables, use ofthese
cables isnotrecommendedas theymaycause erraticintermittently
unreliableperformance. ProperDMXcables arewidelyavailableat
professionalaudiodealers, and highqualityStellarLabsDMXcables are
availablefromMCM Electronics and itsauthorizeddealers.
DMX-Connections
DMXcontrolleddevices typicallyhaveinput(male)and output(female)
connections. ToconnectmultipleDMXdevices toachain, simplystart at
theDMXcontrollerorfirstDMXfixtureoutput,thentotheinputofthe
second device.Thenconnecttheoutputoftheseconddevice, totheinput
ofthethird, andsoonuntilyou reachtheendofthechain.Atthelast
device, connectaDMXterminatortotheoutput.
