STIHL Laser 2-in-1
Der STIHL Laser 2-in-1 hilft, beim Anlegen des Fallkerbes die
Fällrichtung zu kontrollieren. Zudem kann er als Messhilfe beim
Ablängen (Ablängmaß 25 - 100 cm; max. 150 cm) eingesetzt werden.
Fällrichtung und Ablänghilfe werden mit einer roten Laserlinie angezeigt.
Laser 2-in-1 nur an die von STIHL zugelassenen Motorsägen mit
Original STIHL Halter anbauen. Bei Fragen dazu an einen Fachhändler
wenden. Ansonsten kann die Gefahr von Unfällen oder Schäden am
Gerät bestehen.
– nicht absichtlich in den direkten Lichtstrahl blicken
– Lichtstrahl nicht in die Augen anderer Personen oder Tiere richten
– Falls Laserstrahlung ins Auge trifft, sind die Augen bewusst zu
schließen und der Kopf ist sofort aus dem Strahl zu bewegen
– Laserstrahl nicht auf reflektierende Flächen richten
– Bei Beschädigung des Gehäuses oder der Optik kann unter
Umständen Laserstrahlung einer höheren Laserklasse als 2
austreten, die auch bei kurzzeitigem Blick in die Laserquelle
Augenschäden verursachen kann
– Gerät niemals einschalten wenn eine Beschädigung am Gehäuse
oder der Optik vorliegt
Länderbezogene Sicherheitsvorschriften, z.B. von
Berufsgenossenschaften, Sozialkassen, Behörden für Arbeitsschutz
und anderen beachten.
Der Benutzer ist verantwortlich für Unfälle und Gefahren, die gegenüber
anderen Personen oder deren Eigentum auftreten.
Gerät nur an Personen weitergeben oder ausleihen, die mit diesem
Modell und seiner Handhabung vertraut sind – stets die
Gebrauchsanleitung mitgeben.
Besondere Sicherheitsmaßnahmen sind beim Arbeiten mit einer
Motorsäge und dem Laser 2-in-1 nötig.
Die gesamte Gebrauchsanleitung vor der ersten Inbetriebnahme
aufmerksam lesen und für späteren Gebrauch sicher
aufbewahren. Sicherheitsmaßnahmen und Vorgaben dieser
Gebrauchsanleitung und der Gebrauchsanleitung der
eingesetzten Motorsäge beachten und einhalten. Nichtbeachten
der Gebrauchsanleitung kann lebensgefährlich sein.
Gefahr durch Laserstrahl!
Netzhaut des Auges kann bei längerem Kontakt mit dem
Lichtstrahl geschädigt werden.

Keine Änderungen am Gerät vornehmen – die Sicherheit kann dadurch
gefährdet werden. Für Personen- und Sachschäden, die bei nicht
zugelassener Verwendung auftreten, schließt STIHL jede Haftung aus.
Kunststoffteile mit einem Tuch reinigen. Scharfe Reinigungsmittel
können den Kunststoff beschädigen. Optik niemals abdecken.
Einsatzbereiche / Anwendung
STIHL Laser 2-in-1 nur als Hilfe zur Kontrolle der Fällrichtung beim
Schneiden des Fallkerbes oder als Messhilfe beim Ablängen einsetzen.
Für andere Zwecke darf das Gerät nicht benutzt werden – Unfallgefahr!
Nur den für die jeweilige Motorsäge zugelassenen Halter zur Montage
des Lasers 2-in-1 an die Motorsäge verwenden.
Halter und Gerät nur an der ausgeschalteten Motorsäge montieren.
Zum Justieren immer Kettenbremse blockieren.
Gerät nur für die Dauer des Lasereinsatzes an der Motorsäge belassen
– ansonsten Gerät vom Halter abnehmen und in der mitgelieferten
Tasche sicher aufbewahren, ggf. Halter abnehmen.
Das Gerät darf nur in betriebssicherem Zustand betrieben werden –
Unfallgefahr! Kein Gerät mit defektem Gehäuse oder defekter Optik
verwenden. Vor jedem Einsatz das Gerät auf betriebssicheren Zustand
und richtig montierten Halter überprüfen.
Falls der Laser 2-in-1 nicht bestimmungsgemäßer Beanspruchung (z. B.
Gewalteinwirkung durch Schlag oder Sturz) ausgesetzt wurde, unbedingt
vor weiterem Betrieb auf betriebssicheren und funktionstüchtigen
Zustand prüfen – nicht betriebssicheres Gerät auf keinen Fall weiter
benutzen. Im Zweifelsfall Fachhändler aufsuchen.
Gerät und Optik frei von Nässe Feuchtigkeit, Öl, Harz, Staub und
Schmutz halten.

Wichtige Bauteile
Batterien einsetzen
Batterien sind im Lieferumfang enthalten und in der Tasche 1 verstaut.
:Schrauben (10) bündig zur Oberkante der Gehäusehälfte
herausdrehen und Gehäusehälfte (11) abnehmen
:Batterien gemäß der angezeigten Polarität (+ und -) einsetzen
:Gehäusehälfte wieder aufsetzen und Schrauben anziehen

Halter anbauen
:zur Motorsäge passenden Halter von vorne auf das Griffrohr
aufstecken und Halter um ca. 90° drehen
:Halter nach unten schieben bis die Arretierung (a) einrastet, ggf.
Klemm- und Einrastpunkte reinigen – muss hörbar verriegeln und
spielfrei sitzen
:Laser 2-in-1 ansetzen nach unten schieben bis er verriegelt – zum
Abnehmen den Hebel (b) gegen das Griffrohr drücken und den
Laser 2-in-1 nach oben abziehen

Fällen
:Fällrichtung festlegen und Fallkerb anlegen wie in der
Gebrauchsanleitung der verwendeten Motorsäge beschrieben.
STIHL empfiehlt folgende Vorgehensweise:
Fallkerb anlegen
:Drehgriff (2) mit Laserdiode vor dem Einschalten so ausrichten, dass
ein Blenden mit dem Laserstrahl ausgeschlossen ist
:Taste (1) betätigen – Laserdiode leuchtet
:Laserstrahl durch Drehen des Drehgriffes (2) in das Sichtfeld (1 m
bis 2 m) ausrichten
:beim Anlegen des Fallkerbes die Motorsäge so ausrichten, dass der
Laserstrahl genau in die Richtung zeigt, in die der Baum fallen soll
:mit Hilfe der Fällleiste an Haube und Lüftergehäuse der Motorsäge
nochmals die Fällrichtung kontrollieren – Laserstrahl und Peillinie
müssen parallel zueinander stehen. Beide Peilhilfen müssen im
rechten Winkel zum Fallkerb stehen
:Taste (1) betätigen um den Laserstrahl auszuschalten
:Laser 2-in-1 vom Halter abnehmen
:weiteres Vorgehen wie in der Gebrauchsanleitung der verwendeten
Motorsäge beschrieben

Ablängen von liegendem Holz
:gewünschtes Abschnittmaß (a) auf ebener Unterlage durch Drehen
des Drehgriffs einstellen (Abschnittmaß zwischen 25 cm und
100 cm, max. 150 cm) – Laserstrahl muss am rechten Ende sichtbar
sein – wie im Bild
:Motorsäge starten, horizontal und vertikal rechtwinklig ausrichten –
Laserstrahl muss am rechten Ende des Baumstamms sichtbar sein
– wie im Bild
:mit der Motorsäge den Baumstamm markieren bzw. Ablängschnitt
durchführen – richtige Reihenfolge der Schnitte einhalten (zuerst
Druckseite, dann Zugseite)
Die Wiederholgenauigkeit ist abhängig vom sorgfältigen Ausrichten der
Motorsäge, Beschaffenheit und Lage des Baumstammes.

Gerät aufbewahren
Wird das Gerät nicht benutzt, Gerät und Halter von der Motorsäge
abnehmen und an einem trockenen und sicheren Ort aufbewahren, so
dass niemand gefährdet wird. Vor unbefugter Benutzung (z. B. durch
Kinder) schützen.
Bei längerer Nichtbenutzung des Gerätes die Batterien aus dem
Batteriefach entfernen.
Batterien kühl und trocken lagern.
Batterien außerhalb der Reichweite von Kindern und Haustieren
aufbewahren – Gefahr des Verschluckens!
Ausgelaufene oder beschädigte Batterien nur mit Schutzhandschuhen
aus dem Batteriefach entnehmen – Verätzungsgefahr!
Batterien niemals ins Feuer werfen und nicht kurzschließen –
Explosionsgefahr!
Entsorgung
Batterieentsorgung – bei der Entsorgung sind die
länderspezifischen Entsorgungsvorschriften zu beachten.
STIHL Produkte gehören nicht in den Hausmüll. STIHL Produkt,
Zubehör und Verpackung einer umweltfreundlichen
Wiederverwertung zuführen. Aktuelle Informationen zur Entsorgung sind
beim STIHL Fachhändler erhältlich.

STIHL Laser 2-in-1
The STIHL Laser 2-in-1 helps you check the direction of fall when making
the felling notch. In addition, it can be used as a measuring aid when
bucking (length 25 - 100 cm; max. 150 cm). Direction of fall and bucking
length are indicated by a red laser beam.
Mount the Laser 2-in-1 only to chainsaws approved by STIHL and only
with the original STIHL holder. If you have any questions in this respect,
consult a servicing dealer in order to avoid the risk of accidents and
damage to the unit.
– Do not look directly at the light beam.
– Do not point the light beam at the eyes of other persons or animals.
– If a laser beam hits your eye, close your eyes immediately and turn
your head away from the beam.
– Do not point the laser beam at reflective surfaces.
– If the housing or lens is damaged, the level of radiation produced
may be higher than a class 2 laser, which can cause eye damage
even if you look at the laser source only momentarily.
– Never switch on the laser if its housing or lens is damaged.
Observe all applicable local safety regulations, standards and
ordinances.
The user is responsible for avoiding injury to third parties or damage to
their property.
Do not lend or rent your unit without the instruction manual. Be sure that
anyone using it understands the information contained in this manual.
Special safety precautions must be observed when working with
a chainsaw and the Laser 2-in-1.
It is important you read and understand the instruction manual
before first use and keep the manual in a safe place for future
reference. Observe the safety precautions and specifications in
this instruction manual and the chainsaw instruction manual.
Non-observance of the instruction manual may result in serious
or even fatal injury.
Danger of Laser Beam
The retina can be damaged by prolonged exposure to the light
beam.

Never attempt to modify your unit in any way since this may increase the
risk of personal injury. STIHL excludes all liability for personal injury and
damage to property caused by improper use.
Clean plastic surfaces with a cloth. Do not use aggressive detergents.
They may damage the plastic. Never cover the lens.
Applications
Use the STIHL Laser 2-in-1 only for checking the direction of fall when
making the felling notch or as a measuring aid when bucking.
Do not use your power tool for any other purpose since it may result in
accidents.
Only use the holder approved for mounting the Lasers 2-in-1 to your
specific saw model.
Shut off the chainsaw before mounting the holder and unit.
Always engage the chain brake before making adjustments.
Leave the unit on the chainsaw only while you are using the laser. After
use, remove the unit from the holder and put it in the pouch provided.
Remove the holder if necessary.
To reduce the risk of accidents and personal injury, do not operate the
unit if it is not properly assembled and in good condition. Never use a unit
with a damaged housing or lens. Before each use, check that the unit is
in good condition and make sure the holder is properly mounted.
If the Laser 2-in-1 is subjected to unusually high loads (e.g. heavy impact
or a fall), always check that it is in good condition before continuing work.
Do not continue using the unit if it is damaged in any way. In case of
doubt, have the unit checked by your servicing dealer.
Keep the unit and lens free from dampness, oil, resin, dust and
dirt.

Main Parts
Installing the Batteries
Batteries are supplied with the unit and packed in the pouch (1).
:Unscrew the screws (10) until they are flush with the top of the
housing and then lift off the housing (11).
:Insert batteries with polarity (+ and -) as shown.
:Refit the housing and tighten down the screws.

Fitting the Holder
:Attach the model-specific holder to the side of the handlebar and turn
it through about 90°.
:Slide the holder downwards until the latch (a) snaps into place. If
necessary, clean the clamping and locking points - it must engage
audibly and be firmly seated without any play.
:Fit the Laser 2-in-1 in position and push it down until it engages - to
remove, press the lever (b) against the handlebar and pull the
Laser 2-in-1 off vertically.

Felling
:Determine the direction of fall and make the felling notch as
described in the chainsaw's instruction manual.
STIHL recommends the following method:
Felling Notch
:Before switching on, turn the rotary knob (2) with laser diode so that
there is no risk of being dazzled by the beam.
:Press the switch (1) - laser diode is on.
:Turn the rotary knob (2) to line up the beam in your field of vision
(1 m to 2 m).
:Position your saw so that the laser beam points in exactly the
direction you want the tree to fall.
:Use the gunning sight on the saw's shroud and fan housing to check
the direction of fall again - the laser beam and gunning sight must be
parallel to each other. Both gunning aids must be at right angles to
the felling notch.
:Press the switch (1) to turn off the laser beam.
:Remove the Laser 2-in-1 from the holder.
:The procedure is now as described in the instruction manual of the
saw you are using.

Bucking Lying Logs
:Set the required length (a) on a flat surface by turning the rotary knob
(length between 25 cm and 100 cm, max. 150 cm) - laser beam must
be visible at the right-hand end - as shown in the illustration.
:Start the saw, hold it at a right angle in the horizontal and vertical
directions - laser beam must be visible at the right-hand end of the
log - as shown in the illustration.
:Mark the log with the saw or perform bucking cut - perform cuts in the
right sequence (compression side first, then tension side).
The accuracy of repeat cuts depends on how carefully the saw is set up,
as well as the condition and position of the log.

Storing the Power Tool
When the unit is not in use, remove it and the holder from the saw and
store in a dry and high or locked location out of the reach of children
and other unauthorized persons.
If the unit is not used for a prolonged period, remove the batteries from
the battery compartment.
Store batteries in a cool and dry location.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children and pets - risk of swallowing.
Wear protective gloves to remove leaking or damaged batteries from the
battery compartment - risk of chemical burns.
Never throw batteries into a fire and never short circuit batteries - risk of
explosion.
Disposal
Dispose of batteries in accordance with country-specific waste
disposal rules and regulations.
STIHL products must not be thrown in the garbage can. Take the
product, accessories and packaging to an approved disposal
site for environment-friendly recycling. Contact your STIHL servicing
dealer for the latest information on waste disposal.
