Dux Keyboard Case Guide
Presenting the Dux Keyboard Case for the 9.7” 5th and 6th generation
iPad. This astonishing new case is truly Smarter Than Most, featuring
our acclaimed maximum level protection, plus a removable keyboard,
and space for the Apple Pencil or Logitech Crayon.
The keyboard is connected to the case using a 5-pin connector on the
spine of the case, and the case connects the keyboard to the iPad
using a Lightning connector. This is NOT a Bluetooth keyboard.
Please read these instructions carefully to get the most out of your Dux
Keyboard.It’s very important that the iPad is inserted and removed
correctly, otherwise the iPad will not connect to the case properly
and will not work. Not following these instructions could result in the
Lightning connector breaking, and the keyboard not functioning.
Out-of-the-box preparation
1. Remove the foam protector from inside the case
2. Peel back & remove the clear protective lining from inside
and outside of the case (on clear panel)

Inserting your iPad into the case
1. Make sure that the Lightning connector is in the UNLOCK position (down). If the lightning connector is not in the
UNLOCK position, it could snap o when the iPad is inserted, and the keyboard will not work.
2. Firmly slide the bottom of the iPad into the bottom of the case, making sure that the frame covers the bottom edge of the iPad.
3. Firmly push the top left and right upper corners of the iPad into the case, so that they snap into place.
4. Move the Lightning connector into the LOCK position (up). This engages the Lightning connector with
the iPad and connects it with the keyboard. It also connects the iPad to the case for charging purposes.
If the lightning connector isn’t locked, the iPad is not connected with the keyboard and will not work.
»Please note that attaching the Keyboard to the case disables the on-screen iPad keyboard. To reactivate the on-screen keyboard, restart the iPad.

Removing the Keyboard
1. Firmly press the grey button on the front left side of the
case, just above the keyboard. When the button is
lower than the case, it’s in the release position
2. Remove the keyboard by pulling it away from the case
Attaching the Keyboard
1. Place the bottom of the keyboard
connector into the bracket
2. There is a magnet in the connector area
that will locate the keyboard into the correct
position, but it must be locked into place
3. To lock the keyboard in place, CLOSE THE
CASE and PRESS FIRMLY on the spine area
at the top. The keyboard will click once
when it is locked in correctly.

Charging the iPad & Keyboard
»Plug a lightning cable into the female lightning port at the bottom of
the case. Plugging in the case will charge the iPad and the keyboard.
»Please note that when the keyboard is folded all the way back 180
degrees, the keyboard will automatically turn o. It will turn on again
within 3-4 seconds of placing the keyboard back in typing position.
Keyboard Shortcuts
»There are two new keys on the Dux keyboard, the microphone key
and the camera key. These keys have been added for further
convenience while the keyboard is attached.

Removing the iPad
1. Make sure that the Lightning connector is in the UNLOCK
position (down). This is VERY IMPORTANT- if the iPad is
taken out of the case without unlocking the Lightning
connector, the connector could snap o.
2. Release TOP RIGHT CORNER of the iPad by pushing
the corner back and away from the iPad
3. Release the BOTTOM RIGHT from the case by firmly
pushing the TPU corner away from the iPad
4. The iPad will be easy to remove once the top and
bottom right corners are released from the case.
