leaet you will nd our advice on how to care for your Stressless®recliner or sofa.
These instrucons will help you operate your Stressless®furniture in a proper, safe and
benecially manner. Anyone who assembles, operates or otherwise uses this product must have
read and understood the full contents of these safety and usage instrucons.
Always keep these assembly and usage instrucons within your reach or near the product for
the enre duraon of its usage so that you can quickly look up any informaon.

Intended use
This product is intended exclusively for private use by adults in their homes, as a living room
furniture. The prescribed posion of the user is sing or lying. The maximum user body weight is
130 kg/ 286 lbs.
The product is only designed for the intended purpose dened. If you use the product for
another purpose, there is the risk that individual components may be overloaded. This may
then overload the product and cause damage. You therefore risk causing serious personal injury
from overloaded components and consequenal damage. In this case, you would be operang
the product in a state for which the product was not designed. If you want to use the product
for other purposes, you must rst obtain a wrien release declaraon from the manufacturer,
Ekornes AS.
Improper use
The manufacturer can not be held liable for any improper use of this product. The user alone is
responsible for using the product as described in this leaet. The manufacturer can not be held
responsible for any damage incurred as a result of improper use, by using it in another way than
its intended purpose or failing to observe the provided instrucon manual.

Important safety instructions
Read all instrucons before using this furniture.
When using electrical furnishing, basic precauons should always be followed. Pay special
aenon to the following:
DANGER! To reduce the risk of electric shock:
Always unplug this furnishing from the electrical outlet before cleaning or servicing.
WARNING! To reduce the risk of burns, re, electric shock, or injury to persons:
1. Unplug from outlet before pung on or taking o parts.
2. Close supervision is necessary when this furnishing is used by, or near children, invalids, or
disabled persons.
3. Use this furnishing only for its intended use as described in these instrucons. Do not use
aachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
4. Never operate this furnishing if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly,
if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return the furnishing to a service
center for examinaon and repair.
5. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
6. Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
7. Do not use outdoors.
8. Do not operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being
adminis tered.
9. To disconnect, turn all controls to the o posion, then remove plug from outlet.

1. Safety instructions
1.1 General health precautions
Persons with severe health issues should always consult their doctor before using furniture with
electronic equipment. People with a pacemaker must avoid close or prolonged contact with
electrical devices or devices that have strong magnec elds.
WARNING! The motorized furniture with hand-held controllers contains a magnet both in the
controller and in the armrest for convenient aachment when not in use. These magnets can cause
interference and must be kept at a safe distance from persons with a pacemaker or other implants.
WARNING! If your product includes heang, never use the heat funcon if you are suering
from CIPA (condion that prevents feeling pain or temperature) or similar condions.
1.2 General caution advice related to electronic products
This piece of furniture is operated by a motor and must be connected to a wall outlet for power
supply or charging.
• Do not use or assemble the product before reading and understanding all instrucons.
• Do not use extension cords, adapters or any substute electronic parts that are not supplied
with the furniture or provided by the manufacturer.
• Disconnect when the furniture is not in use for a longer period.
• Disconnect the electrical plug from the wall outlet before performing any maintenance,
cleaning or moving of the furniture.
• Always avoid spills and water around electrical components. Even small amounts of moisture
can increase the risk of damage to the furniture and to the people using the furniture. Never
use the product if any electrical part has been exposed to liquids.
• Never clean the product with a pressure washer or steamer. You risk potenal injury from elec-
trical shocks if the electrical equipment is installed.
• Never leave the furniture other than in “home” posion, this will reduce the risk of tripping.
• If the recliner or sofa is equipped with a baery, the footrest and backrest might automacally
fold and return to “home” posion when the baery runs out of power.
• The product may only be used by children aged 14 years and over. persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilies or those who lack experience and knowledge should
only use the product when supervised or if they have been instructed in the safe use of
the equipment and understand the resulng risks.
• Do not allow children to play with the product.
• Do not allow children to perform cleaning or maintenance tasks without supervision. People
who suer from physical limitaons may only use the product under supervision. Provide aid to
these people when they are using the product.
• Tie long hair back during assembly work and do not wear loose clothes or loose jewellery that
may get caught in the moving parts of the product.
• Never use the product or parts of the product near high-frequency surgical equipment,
debrillators, administraon of oxygen or aerosol spray.
• If your product includes heang, never use any cover between the furniture and the people
sing in the furniture when the heat is switched on.

• Do not modify the product and only use it for the intended purposes in accordance with
the secon “Intended purpose” page 4.
• Other use is only permissible with wrien permission from the manufacturer. The manufactur-
er does not assume liability for damages which result from disregarding this provision.
• Do not store items on the product. They may fall o.
• Immediately disconnect the electrical plug from the wall outlet if you suspect malfuncon due
to noise or odours. In the event of malfuncon, take the product out of operaon and secure it
against unintended further use.
• Servicing tasks may only be carried out by authorized persons who have been trained for
this task.
1.3 Risk of suffocation and poisoning
• Do not let children play with packaging lm, plasc bags or other product accessories.
Children may suocate.
• Do not allow children near the product unsupervised.
• Children may swallow small parts such as baeries or screws. Store the accessory parts of
the product somewhere that cannot be accessed by children.
• Contact authorized service personnel for immediate repair if any part of the furniture loosens,
and make sure that no parts can be detached by children.
1.4 Risk of damage to property
To prevent damage to property, you must follow these following safety instrucons:
• Assure that all electrical parts, cords and plugs are always in good condion. It is recommended
to carry out an inspecon of these parts on a regular basis.
• Only allow authorized persons to carry out repairs. In doing so, incorrect repairs will be avoided.
• Only use the accessories and replacement parts approved by Ekornes AS. This will prevent
the malfunconing of the product and the promised performance will be achieved.
• Only use the corresponding recommended tool for work carried out on the product. Otherwise
you may damage parts of the product.
• Do not drop parts of the product on the oor or on hard surfaces or objects. This could cause
damage to these parts.
• Protect the electrical and electronic components of the product from any water or other liquids
to prevent damage.
1.5 Risks from climatic or other external inuences
To prevent damage or risks caused by climac inuences, please adhere to the following
condions:
• Do not use the product in corrosive atmospheres (chlorine, ammonia, lime water or acidic and
other aggressive atmospheres).
• Only use the product in rooms or areas in which the humidity is less than 60%
• Do not use the product in rooms with a high level of dust formaon.

• Do not use the product near sources of heat.
• Do not use the product in explosive environments. Switch components built into the product
may cause sparks to form. Explosions may be triggered by these sparks in explosive
environments.
• Only expose the product to the permissible temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.
(+41°F and +95°F)
• The charger must never be operated on or near ammable surfaces (e.g. paper, fabrics etc.).
Operaon of the charger generates heat that might represent a risk of re.
1.6 Pinching hazard
• Motorized furniture has several moving parts that can cause serious injury. Do not touch or
allow any children, pets or body parts to come near any parts of the mechanisms.
• Make sure that electrical cords are not pinched by the mechanism, other moving parts or come
between the furniture and the oor/wall.

2. User instructions
2.1 General user instructions
• This product has movable parts. Make sure that there is ample space around the recliner or
sofa before operaon to avoid that any part of the furniture interferes with walls or other
inventory.
• Due to the weight of the product a minimum of two people is required for installing and moving
the furniture.
• Li the furniture with a rm and controlled grip under the main construcon.
• Never lean or sit on the armrests, back or footrest.
• Sit down in a controlled way, not by dropping or throwing the full body weight into the seat.
• Moving parts must only be operated by the designated control panel or handheld controller
from the supplier. Never use manual force to change posion of the moving parts.
• If the recliner or sofa is equipped with a baery, the footrest and backrest might automacally
fold and return to “home” posion when the baery runs out of power. Never leave the furni
ture other than in “home” posion.
• If your furniture has heang or massage as an opon, the furniture must be directly connected
to a wall outlet – not operated by baery.
• If your furniture has heang or massage as an opon, note that these funcons have an
automac mer to shut o the massage and heat funcons aer 10 minutes of operaon.
Both funcons can easily be switched back on.
• Note that the massage and heat funcons may start automacally aer a power outage.
CAUTION! The chair has no user serviceable parts, if the chair is damaged or not operated,
it must be repaired by an authorized service representave.
When the chair is not in use, make the chair to the upright posion. Remove the power cord,
adaptor from the chair. Store the power cord, adaptor and chair in a dry locaon where children
can not play with these parts.

4. Technical information
To properly idenfy your product, please consult the material number on the informaon label.
On motorized seats the ID scker is found on the inside of the leg rest mechanism. On seats
without motor the scker is placed inside the seat frame, accessible by opening the zipper under
the seat cushion.
The informaon on the label must always be enclosed with any service request directed to
the retailer or manufacturer.
4.1 Information regarding batteries
Baeries are not a default conguraon but can be added as an opon. If your product has
baeries installed this is a lithium ion baery.
CAUTION – Risk of re, Replace baery only with baeries with brand Limoss, Model BS-5 with
match code MC168. Or other baeries approved for your model by Ekornes AS.
Note. To extend the life of the baeries, we recommend charging your recliner once a week.
Note. The baeries used emit an acousc warning when the residual charge is too low.
The signal only sounds during operaon. If you hear this warning tone, please plug the recliner
immediately into the charger. While charging, the recliner is operaonal and can be used.

5. Care instructions
In daily use, furniture is exposed to various strains caused by external factors such as body oils,
perspiraon, general wear and tear and colour transfer from clothing.
• To minimise fading, avoid placing your furniture in direct sunlight.
• To maintain the surface properes, we recommend that you keep a minimum distance of 30cm
between your furniture and any source of heat.
• Do not allow pets on your furniture. Their claws may scratch the leather which can lead to an
expensive repair. Their saliva is acidic and may also aack the leather nish.
• In order to avoid stubborn stains, protect your furniture when using household chemicals
e.g., (most) domesc detergents such as window cleaners, bleach and ngernail polish, nail
polish remover, glue, shoe polish, paint, corrosive materials. Avoid domesc detergents and
ALL products containing solvents and oils, as they may destroy the cover surface. Do not use
any tradional household products to remove stubborn stains. Many of these are harsh and
cannot be guaranteed safe. Do not use a steamer to clean the covers.
• Certain cosmecs and body care products contain solvents and oils. These products are not
benecial to leather or fabrics, as they may weaken the leather nish and ruin the pile of the
fabric over me. Avoid using your furniture with wet hair or with freshly applied hair care
products or cosmecs. To avoid build-up of these products, please clean regularly as described.
• Some of the leather dyes have a two-tone color eect (shadow/anque eect). Leather dyed
with a two-tone eect may change character faster and wear more unevenly than leather with
just one color. This applies in parcular to areas of the furniture that are exposed to harder
wear such as armrests, seat cushions and neck supports.
• The top layer of leather furniture oers some protecon and simplies cleaning but is none-
theless vulnerable to soiling and wear. If the top layer/top colour is destroyed, the leather may
deteriorate faster. Penetrang spills/damage/scratches are normally irreparable and may result
in the top color changing character, cracking or peeling o.
• Denim clothes and hard texles such as dungaree jeans expose the cover to strong wear and
may leave color on the cover which is dicult to remove.
5.1 Maintenance advice for leather furniture
Maintain surface appearance and texture by gently wiping your leather once a week with a clean
dry cloth or vacuum with a so brush. This will remove dust. Spills must be removed immediately.
We recommend your leather furniture is cleaned and re-protected at least every six months.
Stressless®Leather Cleaner
Stressless®Leather Cleaner is a mild, water-based cleaner that can be used on all pure aniline and
pigmented leathers. It will remove soil as well as most water-based stains. Special cleaning wipes
are available for the unique properes of the Pioneer leather quality.

Stressless®Leather Protection
Stressless® Leather Protecon is a water-based protecon product for all types of leather except
nubuck and suede. Stressless® Leather Protecon protects against oil, water and alcohol stains
as well as everyday dirt and grime. It will also keep your leather lovely and so, and when used
regularly in combinaon with Stressless®Leather Cleaner, prevents pigmented leather from
cracking.
Special protecon wipes are available for the unique properes of the Pioneer leather quality.
These are the only products that have been tested by Ekornes on Stressless® leather qualies.
Ekornes disclaims all liability if you maintain your leather furniture with other products than
Stressless®Leather Care
5.2 Maintenance advice for furniture with fabric covers
We are very demanding when selecng our fabrics and cooperate with suppliers that
manufacture in accordance with strict quality and environmental requirements. If correctly
maintained, the fabrics we have selected will help give the furniture a long life.
Our fabrics are tested according to the criteria of mobelfakta.no. All our upholstery fabrics meet
the requirements of mobelfakta.no for Hard Wear. To meet Hard Wear requirements, the fabric
must pass internaonal tests for durability, light fastness, pilling resistance, re safety and colour
fastness.
To help the fabric surface retain its appearance, we recommend that you vacuum the furniture
regularly and wipe the surface with a damp cloth as needed. Remove spills immediately. If stains
and dirt cannot be removed readily with a damp cloth, a cleaning agent and stain remover from
the Stressless®Fabric Care Kit may be used.
Removable covers might somemes be washed or professionally dry cleaned. This depends on
the quality and must always be veried by your retailer or the manufacturer.
We do not recommend impregnaon of our fabrics.

6. Disposal
Stressless®furniture are constructed to last for many years, providing that proper care is
given. Waste regulaons are under constant development. When the me comes to part with
your Stressless®furniture, please consult your local waste disposal plant to make sure that
the furniture is disposed in a correct and safe manner.
6.1 Composition
This product consists of the following disposable materials:
- Steel, plasc, wood, fabrics and/or leather.
- Diverse plascs, e.g., installaon material, insulaon material
- Rubber parts, e.g., seals and base
- Electrical cables, electrical lines, electrical appliances such as motors, electronic components,
electrical controls, installaon materials, if present.
- Lithium ion baery (if applicable)
Special waste such as lithium ion baeries, controllers, electronic parts should be carefully
separated from the furniture and delivered to your local waste handling system. Ekornes AS
advise you to please enquire with your local authority for proper handling of special waste.
The transport packaging used to deliver the furniture is recyclable. Ensure proper separated
disposal of materials by your local recycling service. The transport packaging is not a toy.
Please recycle immediately to reduce dangerous situaons such as suocang.
6.2 For the European Union and EEA
(Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein)
This symbol (waste bin) indicates that the electrical and electronic components of the product
are not to be disposed with your household waste, according to the WEEE Direcve (2012/19/EU),
the baery direcve (2006/66/EC) and/or naonal legislaon implemenng those Direcves.
This product should be handed over to a designated collecon point or an authorized collecon
site for recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment. Improper handling of this type of
waste could have a possible impact on the environment and human health due to potenally
hazardous substances that are generally associated with electrical and electronic equipment.

1. Sikkerhetsinformasjon
1.1 Generelle forbehold vedrørende helse
Personer med alvorlige helseproblemer må alld kontakte lege før bruk av møbler utstyrt med
elektronisk utstyr. Personer med en pacemaker må unngå nær eller langvarig kontakt med
elektrisk utstyr eller enheter som har sterke magneske felt.
ADVARSEL! Motoriserte møbler med håndholdte kontroller inneholder magneter, både i
kontrollen og i armlenet, for enkel fesng av kontrollen når den ikke er i bruk. Disse magnetene kan
forårsake forstyrrelser og må holdes på trygg avstand fra personer med en pacemaker eller andre
implantater.
ADVARSEL! Hvis produktet di avgir varme må du aldri bruke varmefunksjonen hvis du er
rammet av CIPA (en lstand hvor du ikke kjenner smerte eller temperatur) eller lignende lstander.
1.2 Generelle forholdsregler knyttet til elektroniske produkter
Dee møbelet inneholder en motor og må kobles l en skkontakt for strøm eller lading.
• Ikke bruk eller monter produktet før du har lest og forstå alle instruksjonene.
• Ikke bruk skjøteledninger, støpsel eller elektroniske reservedeler som ikke blir levert med
møbelet eller levert av produsenten.
• Møbelet bør kobles fra strømmen når det ikke er i bruk over en lengre periode
• Trekk ut strømledningen fra skkontakten før vedlikehold, rengjøring eller yng av møbelet.
• Unngå vannsøl rundt elektriske deler. Selv små mengder fukt kan øke risikoen for skade på
møbelet og personene som bruker det. Produktet må ikke brukes hvis en elektrisk del er bli
eksponert for væsker.
• Produktet må ikke rengjøres med en høytrykksspyler eller dampvasker. Det er fare for elektrisk
støt dersom et elektriske utstyret er montert.
• Gå aldri fra møbelet i andre sllinger enn "hjem", siden dee reduserer risikoen for at møbelet
skal vippe.
• Hvis lenestolen eller sofaen er utstyrt med baeri, kan fotstøen og ryggstøen automask
folde seg sammen og gå lbake l "hjem"-posisjonen når baeriet går tomt.
• Produktet kan bare brukes av barn over 14 år. Personer med reduserte fysiske, sensoriske eller
mentale ferdigheter eller personer som mangler erfaring med og kunnskap om, må bare bruke
produktet under veiledning eller dersom de har få informasjon om sikker bruk av utstyret og
forstår lhørende risiko.
• Ikke la barn leke med produktet.
• Ikke la barn rengjøre eller uøre vedlikeholdsoppgaver uten oppsyn. Personer med fysiske
begrensninger kan bare bruke produktet under oppsyn. Tilby disse personene hjelp dersom
de bruker produktet.
• Se opp langt hår under montering og ikke beny løse klær eller smykker som kan henge seg
fast i bevegelige deler i produktet.
• Ikke beny produktet eller deler av produktet i nærheten av høyfrekvent kirurgisk utstyr,
debrillatorer, administrasjon av oksygen eller aerosolsprayer.
• Dersom produktet lbyr varme må du aldri bruke et dekke mellom møbelet og personen som
sier i møbelet når varmen er slå på.
