SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

13. Protective Attachment Plug - The appliance is equipped with an attachment plug having overload protection.
This is a safety feature. See Instruction Manual for replacement or resetting of protective device. If replacement

of the plug is required, be sure the service technician has used a replacement plug specified by the
manufacturer that has the same overload protection as the original plug.
14. Cleaning - The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended by the manufacturer.
15. Power Lines - An outdoor antenna should be located away from power lines.
16. Outdoor Antenna Grounding - If an outside antenna is connected to the receiver, be sure the antenna system is
grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built up static charges. Section 810 of
the National Electrical Code, ANSI/ NFPA No.70-1984, provides information with respect to proper grounding of
the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding
conductors, location of antenna discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the
grounding electrode. See figure 1.
17. Nonuse Periods - The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet when left unused for a
long period of time.
18. Object and Liquid Entry - Care should be taken so that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the
enclosure through openings.
19. Damage Requiring Service - The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel when:
A. The power supply cord or the plug has been damaged; or
B. Objects have fallen, or liquid has been spilled into the appliance; or
C. The appliance has been exposed to rain; or
D. The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance; or
E. The appliance has been dropped, or the enclosure damaged.
20. Servicing - The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that described in the operating
instructions. All other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel.

CAUTION
Follow the advice below for safe operations.
•As the laser beam used in this compact disc player is harmful to the eyes, do not attempt to
disassemble the casing.
•Stop operation immediately if any liquid or solid object should fall into the cabinet.
•Do not touch the lens or poke at it. If you do, you may damage the lens and the player may not
operate properly.
•Do not put anything in the safety slot. If you do, the laser diode will be ON when the CD door is still
open.
•If the unit is not to be used for a long period of time, make sure that all power sources are
disconnected from the unit. Remove all batteries from the battery compartment, and unplug the AC-
DC adaptor from the wall outlet. Make it a practice to remove the AC-DC adaptor by grasping the
main body and not by pulling the cord.
•This unit employs a laser. The use of controls or adjustment or performance of procedures other than
those specified here may result in exposure to hazardous radiation.
Should any trouble occur, remove the power source and refer servicing to qualified personnel.

POWER SOURCE
This AM/FM Stereo CD Dual Alarm Clock Radio operates from AC 120V line power supply. A 9V alkaline
battery (not included) is also required to retain the normal and alarm time settings in the event of a power
outage.
BACKUP BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Open the BATTERY Door (#29), following the polarity diagram shown
in the Battery Compartment, connect one DC 9V battery (not included)
to the Battery Clip. The battery clip only fits one way to ensure the
correct polarity.
2. Replace the AC Cord Compartment Door
IMPORTANT: Be sure that the batteries are installed correctly. Wrong polarity may damage the
unit.
3. For better performance and longer operating time, we recommend the use of alkaline-type batteries
4. If the unit is not to be used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries. Old or leaking
batteries can cause damage to the unit and will void the warranty.
5. a) Do not mix old and new batteries.
b) Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (Nickel-Cadmium) batteries.
6. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Batteries may leak or explode.
AC OPERATION
Plug the AC Power Cord into the AC 120V/60 Hz power source.

CLOCK SETTING
NOTE: In order for the clock to function properly, the clock has to be set the first time you use the
unit.
TIME SETTING
For example to set the clock at 7:30 AM
1. Plug the AC cord into the AC 120V outlet, clock digits will blink.
2. Press and hold CLOCK-ADJ/PROGRAM Button (# 2) until hour digit flashes.
3. Press (# 17) or (# 20) button and release until correct hour is displayed
Note: i. If no button is pressed in 10 seconds, the unit will exit the setting mode.
ii.There is a PM Indicator (# 6) in the Clock Display (# 11) located in the lower left-hand corner
next to the initials "PM". If the time shown in the Clock Display is in the PM range the PM
indicator will be illuminated. If the PM Indicator is not illuminated, it means the clock is set for AM
time. It is important that "AM" or "PM" is correctly selected for the alarm to sound at the
correct time of day.
4. Press CLK-ADJ/PROGRAM Button (# 2) to confirm the selection and the minute digit will flash to
prompt for input.
5. Press (# 17) or (# 20) button and release until correct minute is displayed
6. Press CLK-ADJ/PROGRAM Button (#2) again to complete setting.

CD PLAYER OPERATION
Note: This CD player plays not only commercial CDs but also self-compiled CD-R/RW discs.
1. Press POWER Button (# 3) to turn the unit on. POWER INDICATOR (# 10) lights.
2. Press CD PLAY BUTTON (# 6) to enter CD function mode.
The LED Display (# 11) will display “00”after a few second if there is no disc loaded.
3. Open the CD LID (# 28). Carefully place an audio CD, with its label side upward, in the CD
compartment and close the CD LID (# 28).
The total number of tracks on the CD will appear in the Display (# 11) after a few seconds.
4. Press Button (# 4) once. The CD will start playing from the first track with the Play/Pause
Indicator (# )shown steadily in the display.
5. Adjust Volume Control (# 25) to obtain the desired sound level from the Speakers (# 25).
6. To suspend play, press the Button (# 6). The CD Play/Pause Indicator (# ) will flash.
To resume playing, press the (# 4) again.
7. You can choose to play your favorite track directly by pressing either the Skip Forward
(# 17) or the Skip Backward Button (# 20). The LED Display (# 11) will indicate the correct
track number selected.
8. To locate a particular passage within a track, keep the Search Forward Button (# 17) or
Search Backward Button (# 20) depressed until it is found.
9. To repeat a particular track, press the CD Repeat Button (# 18), REPEAT INDICATOR (# 16) will
appear and flash in the Display (# 11).

10. To repeat the entire CD,

,press the REPEAT Button (# 18) until REPEAT INDICATOR (# 16)
appears steadily in the Display (# 11).
11. To stop playing, press the POWER/STOP Button ■(# 3).
12. To random play the tracks, first press RANDOM Button (# 20) once in the STOP mode and press
. Button (# 6) again to start play
13. When you wish to turn off the CD Player, press POWER/STOP Button ■(# 3) again.
CD PROGRAMMED PLAY
This function allows the tracks to be played in a programmed sequence.
1. In CD STOP mode, press the CLOCK-ADJ/PROGRAM Button (# 2) once. The Program Indicator
(# 5) will flash and first preset memory number “01” will blink in the Display.
2. Press the Skip Forward Button (# 17) or the Skip Backward Button (# 20) to select the
song to be programmed. For example to program the song in track 4 in the first preset memory
“01”.
3. Press the CLOCK-ADJ/PROGRAM Button (# 2) again to store selection. The Program Indicator (#
5) will flash and the preset memory number will change to “02” and blink.
4. Press the Skip Forward Button (# 17) or the Skip Backward Button (# 20) to select the next
song to be programmed
and press the CLOCK-ADJ/PROGRAM Button (# 2) to store selection.
5. You may repeat steps #1 - #4
to program as many as 20 tracks.
6. Press Play/Pause Button (# 4) to start playing in the programmed sequence.

7. To cancel programmed play, in STOP mode press ■Button (# 3).
8. To turn the CD Player off, press POWER/STOP Button (# 3). The LED Display will revert to display
the current time.
Notes on CD-R/RW Discs
•Because of non-standardized format definition/production of CD-R/RW, playback quality &
performance are not guaranteed.
•Manufacturer is not responsible for the playability of CD-R/RW due to recording conditions such
as PC performance, writing software, media ability, etc.
•Do not attach a label or seal to either side of the CD-R/RW disc. It may cause a malfunction.
RADIO RECEPTION
1. Press POWER/STOP Button ■(# 3) to turn on the unit. POWER INDICATOR (# 10) lights.
2. Press the RADIO Button (# 1) to enter RADIO mode.
3. Rotate the BAND SELECTOR (# 23) to select AM, FM or FM STEREO band as desired.
4. Turn the TUNING knob (# 24) for the desired station and adjust the volume using the VOLUME knob (# 25).
5. The AC line cord also acts as the FM antenna and should be fully extended for the best reception. When
playing AM stations, try turning the unit slowly until the best reception is obtained.
6. To turn off the radio, press POWER/STOP Button ■(# 3).
SETTING ALARM TIME
1. In POWER OFF mode, press and hold the DISPLAY/MODE Button (# 15) until ALARM 1/FUNCTION INDICATOR
(# 11) and HOUR digit flash. For example to set 7:30 AM for ALARM 1 and 3:45 PM for ALARM 2.
2. Press (# 17) or (# 20) button and release until correct hour is displayed

Note: i.If no button is pressed in 10 seconds, the unit will exit the setting mode.

The ALARM 2/MULTI FUNCTION LED Indicator (# 13) will light and flash together with the HOUR digit.
SETTING ALARM 2
6. Press (# 17) or (# 20) button and release until correct hour is displayed
Note: i. If no button is pressed in 10 seconds, the unit will exit the setting mode.
ii.There is a PM Indicator (# 6) in the Clock Display (# 11) located in the lower left-hand corner
next to the initials "PM". If the time shown in the Clock Display is in the PM range the PM
indicator will be illuminated. If the PM Indicator is not illuminated, it means the clock is set for
AM time. It is important that "AM" or "PM" is correctly selected for the alarm to sound at the
correct time of day.
7. Press CLK-ADJ/PROGRAM Button (# 2) to confirm the selection and the minute digit will flash to
prompt for input.
8. Press (# 17) or (# 20) button and release until correct minute is displayed
9. Press CLK-ADJ/PROGRAM Button (# 2) again to complete setting.
The LED Display (# 11) will return to display the current time.

ALARM OPERATION
Note: i. This unit provides wake to BUZZER, RADIO or CD function.
ii. If no ALARM function is selected, the MULTI FUNCTION INDICATOR 1or 2 (# 11or # 14) will not light.
iii. Every time the ALARM Button is pressed, the MULTI FUNCTION INDICATOR LED color will change
and the following table shows “WAKE TO” option versus the MULTI FUNCTION INDICATOR LED color:

1. In POWER off mode, press either ALARM 1 BUTTON (# 8), ALARM 2 BUTTON (# 14) or both to select your
desired wake up alarm. MULTI FUNCTION INDICATOR (# 9 or # 13 or both depending what you have
selected) lights up in RED.
2. Buzzer will turn on at the preset “Alarm Time” and beep for about 1 hour before turning off
automatically.
3. If you want to turn the ALARM off, press the POWER /STOP Button ■(# 3)..
The radio will turn on again automatically at the preset alarm time on the following days.
WAKE TO RADIO BY ALARM1 or ALARM2
1. Turn the radio "ON" by first pressing the POWER /STOP Button ■(# 3). and then press the RADIO
Button (# 1), and tune in the desired station. Adjust the volume to the desired level.
2. Press POWER /STOP Button ■(# 3). again to turn radio off.
3. Press either the ALARM 1 BUTTON (# 8), ALARM 2 BUTTON (# 14) or both twice to select your
desired wake up time. MULTI FUNCTION INDICATOR (# 9, # 13) will light up in GREEN.
The radio will turn on at the preset “Alarm Time” and play for about 1 hour before turning off
automatically.
4. If you want the radio to stay on after the wake up time, press the RADIO Button (# 1).
5. If you want to turn the radio off, press the POWER /STOP Button ■(# 3)..
The radio will turn on again automatically at the preset alarm time on the following days.
WAKE TO CD BY ALARM1 or ALARM 2
1. In POWER off mode, press either the ALARM 1 BUTTON (# 8), ALARM 2 BUTTON (# 14) or both
repeatedly to select your desired wake up time until MULTI FUNCTION INDICATOR (# 9, # 13) will
light up in ORANGE and “CD” will appear in the display and flash .
2. While “CD” is flashing press (# 17) or (# 20) button and release until your desired track
is displayed.
3. The unit will start to playback the selected track at the preset “Alarm Time” and play for about 1 hour
before turning off automatically.

4. If you want to listen to the radio after the wake up time, press the RADIO Button (# 1) once.
5. If you want to turn the radio off, press the POWER /STOP Button ■(# 3). POWER INDICATOR (# 10)
will go off.
The radio will turn on again automatically at the preset alarm time on the following days.
SNOOZE OPERATION
1. When the alarm sounds (buzzer, radio or CD), you can press the SNOOZE Button (# 27) to extend the
alarm time by 9 minutes. The buzzer, radio or CD will then turn on again.
2. This is repeated until the POWER/STOP BUTTON ■(# 3) is pressed.
NOTE: If SNOOZE is pressed during ALARM 1 and ALARM 2 occurs during that time, ALARM 2 will be
disabled until the SNOOZE time expires.
TO SHUT OFF THE ALARM FUNCTION
Press ALARM1, ALARM2 Button or both repeatedly until the MULTI FUNCTION INDICATOR 1 (# 9),
MULTI FUNCTION INDICATOR 2 (# 13) or both go off.
SLEEP OPERATION
SLEEP OPERATION
In POWER ON or OFF mode, press the SLEEP button (# 7). The display (# 11) will shows 90
minutes of playing time and then return to show the current time mode in 10 seconds. The unit will
automatically turn off after 90 minutes. However, if you want to turn the radio off before the preset
sleep time has elapsed, press the POWER/STOP Button ■(# 3) to switch the power off. The POWER
INDICATOR (# 10) turns off.
ADJUSTING THE SLEEP PERIOD
1. With the unit In POWER ON or OFF mode, press and hold the SLEEP Button (# 7) until the desired
sleep period is reached.
Note: The SLEEP duration can be set from 90 minutes to 1 minute. The time decreases in
decrement of 10 minutes for duration 90 minutes to 10 minutes. Thereafter the time
decreases in 1 minute interval.
2. The unit will automatically turn off after the set time has elapsed.

SLEEP TO CD/RADIO
1. Turn on the unit and play CD or Radio as desired.
2. Set the SLEEP time as described above.
3. The CD/Radio will automatically turn off when the sleep time has elapsed. However, if you want to turn
the radio off before the preset sleep time has elapsed, switch the unit to off by pressing the POWER
Button ■(# 3) again.
SLEEP AND WAKE TO BEEP/CD/RADIO
1. Follow steps 1 to 9 (shown above) under the “SETTING ALARM TIME” section to set the ALARM
time.
2. Set your desired “WAKE TO” source as describe above in the “ALARM OPERATION” section..
3. Follow step 1 (shown above) under the “ADJUSTING THE SLEEP PERIOD” section to set the
desired SLEEP time.
The Radio is now programmed to turn off automatically at the Sleep Time you selected, and then to turn
on again at the preset “Alarm Time”.
VIEWING SLEEP/ALARM AND CURRENT TIME
If you want to check the SLEEP remaining time, ALARM 1, ALARM 2 or the current time, press the
DISPLAY/MODE Button (# 15) repeatedly to toggle between SLEEP, ALARM 1, ALARM 2 and the
current time. The Display will resume to current time mode after releasing the DISPLAY/MODE Button
for 10 seconds.
USING HEADPHONES (NOT INCLUDED)
Inserting the plug of your headphones into the Stereo Phones Jack (# 21) will enable you to listen to the
CD, Radio or Cassette music in private. When using headphones, the Built-in Speakers (# 26) will be
disconnected.
READ THIS IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE USING YOUR HEADPHONES
1. Avoid extended play at very high volume as it may impair your
hearing.
2. If you experience ringing in your ears, reduce the volume or shut
off your unit.
3. Do not use while driving a motorized vehicle. This is dangerous
and also illegal in some states.
4. Keep the volume at a reasonable level even if your headset is an
open-air type designed to allow you to hear outside sounds. Please note excessively high volume
may still block outside sounds.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Clean the unit with a soft, damp (never wet) cloth. Solvent or detergent should never be used.
2. Avoid operating your unit under direct sunlight or in hot, humid or dusty places.
3. Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of electrical noise such as fluorescent lamps
or motors.
4. For better Clock Display clarity, avoid operating the unit under direct sunlight or in strong room
illumination.
5. Unplug the unit from the electrical power outlet immediately in case of malfunction.

COMPLIANCE WITH FCC REGULATIONS
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Radio Receiver, pursuant to Part
15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency
energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to
radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular
installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be
determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by
one or more of the following measures:
- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
-Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio technician for help.

returning the unit, please remove batteries to prevent damage to the unit in transit and/or from possible
