Park car on level ground. Set
parking brake.

Move seats to forward most
and highest adjustment, with
seat back vertical.

Release elastic strap from
bottom of seat.
CAUTION! The underseat
area may have sharp edges.
Use care when reaching
under the seat. Gloves are
recommended.

Fold fabric up and remove
seat back screws from driver
and passenger seats.

Remove rear trim panels from
both front seats using the
following procedure:
(1) Using left hand, grab the left
side of the trim panel near
bottom. Using your fingers pull
the edge of the part outwards
slightly, about 1” (2-3 cm). Do
not bend the part excessively or
warping could occur.
(2) At the same time as #(1),
use the base of your hand to
firmly push the entire trim panel
towards the inside of the car.
(3) While holding the part per #’s
(1) and (2) above, pull the part
rearwards. The left side lower
clip should release.
(4), (5) and (6) are repeats of
(1), (2) and (3) on opposite side
of the seat.
(7) After the lower clips are
released, slide the trim panel
down gently and it will release
from the seat.
(8) Place the trim panels in a
safe location for reuse.

Recline seats and extend
headrests to upmost position.
Press button on left side and
pull up on the headrests to
release them from the seats.

Install RSE headrests [1,2] to
both front seats.
(1) Feed RES wires through
the corresponding headrest
post holes in the top of the
seats.
(2) Install the headrests [1,2]
into the seats.
(3) Move the headrests [1,2]
down until they stop at the
lowest setting.

Return seats to upright
position. Stop adjustment if
headrests contact vehicle
roof.

posts, there are foam tapes to
headrest cables as shown.

Unclip upholstery from top
and inboard edge of left seat.
For top: (1) Apply pressure
downward in direction of arrows.
(2) While applying pressure,
unhook the plastic clip from the
seat frame. Do not use
unnecessary force.
For inboard side: (1) Apply firm
pressure to rear edge of seat,
pushing towards door opening.
(2) While applying pressure,
unhook the plastic clip from the
seat frame. Do not use
unnecessary force.
Repeat for passenger seat.

Route RSE wiring for left
upper seat
1) Group RSE cable together at
end of foam and attach to the
metal seat frame with cable tie
[3], leaving abiout ½” (10 mm) of
foam past the tie. Note: Do not
tie to black cable or seatback.
Attach to metal frame only.
Check: Verify that the cables are
not bent sharply at the end of
the headrest posts, and that the
headrest can travel to the
highest and lowest positions.
2) Tie RSE cables to seat frame
bracket
3) Tie RSE cables to existing
harness.
4) Unhook Velcro strap, route
cables through and reattach.

Route RSE wiring for right
upper seat
1) Group RSE cable together at
end of foam and attach to the
metal seat frame with cable tie
[3], leaving about ½” (10 mm) of
foam past the tie. Note: Do not
tie to black cable or seatback.
Attach to metal frame only.
Check: Verify that the cables are
not bent sharply at the end of
the headrest posts, and that the
headrest can travel to the
highest and lowest positions.

3) Use foam tape [11] to attach
cables to seat frame.

Trim cable ties and reinstall
upholstery.
For top: 1) Apply pressure
downward in direction of
arrows. 2) While applying
pressure, hook the plastic clip
to the seat frame. Do not use
unnecessary force.
For inboard side: 1) Apply
pressure to rear edge of seat,
pushing towards door
opening. 2) While applying
pressure, hook the plastic clip
to the seat frame. Do not use
unnecessary force.
Verify that the RSE wiring is
not visible through the
opening for the rear trim
panel clip.
Repeat the above steps for
right side seat.

Move seats to rear most
position, and then disconnect
battery.

Automatic transmission only.
For manual transmission, skip
to step 19.
Using plastic trim removal
tool, pull lower shifter trim
down as shown.

Remove shifter clip

Remove shifter and trim ring

Using plastic trim removal
tool separate clips along
console trim panel in order
shown. Unseat electrical
connections and remove trim
panel from vehicle.

Manual transmissions only.
Unscrew shift knob and
remove.
Using plastic trim removal
tool, separate clips along
console trim panel in order
shown. Unseat electrical
connections and remove
panel from vehicle.

All vehicles follow remaining
steps
Remove screws where
indicated.
Grab edge of trim panels
between screws, and lift up
and outward. Use nylon trim
removal tool to separate clips
from sides of center console
and instrument panel.
Remove left and right trim
panels from vehicle.

Disconnect center console
accessory power outlet, USB
port, and auxiliary port
connectors.

Pull center console toward
rear of vehicle until duct work
clears instrument panel. Then
lean front of console up and
back.

Remove screw cap with nylon
trim removal tool.
Remove screw.
Repeat for other side of
console.

Locate the black and green
connectors attached to the Aii
harness [8] and power
harness [5]. Attach one black
and one green connector to
the feeder tool [10] with
electrical tape.

Insert feeder tool [10]
underneath carpet where
shown, directing it toward
opening in carpet under front
seat.

For both seats, feed the
wiring back under the carpet
to the outer duct opening.
Route the wires along the
seat wiring from floor up to
the seat.

Reach into the duct opening
in the carpet under the front
seat and pull the feeder tool
through, pulling the wires
down into the floor area.
Untape the connectors from
the feeder tool and repeat
with remaining black and
green connector for right
seat.
29 Route wires for left lower seat
CAUTION! The underseat
area may have sharp edges.
Use care when reaching
under seat. Gloves are
recommended.
1) Route the wiring up from
the floor along the seat wiring
harness, stopping near the
main electrical connector for
the seat. Connect to existing
harness with 3 cable ties [3].
2) Route wires from the
headrest from back of seat
stopping near the main
electrical connector for the
seat. Secure harness to seat
spring with 2 cable ties [3]
3) Connect the black and
green connectors.
Repeat for right seat.

Install plastic covers over
black and green connectors.

Attach plastic covers to
bracket under seat with cable
tie [3].

Connect the Aii adapter [7]
and the Aii harness [8] to the
Aii module [6].

Attach Aii module [6] to
vehicle sheet metal with
double-sided tape, keeping it
as close to centerline of
vehicle as possible.
Attach Aii adaptor harness
box [7] to vehicle carpet with
double-sided tape, also on
centerline of vehicle.

34 Lower center console to
original location. Ensure all
cables are routed through the
center of the console and
between the A/C ducts if
applicable.
Connect the vehicle AUX
input jack connector to the Aii
adapter harness [7].

Connect the Aii adapter
harness [7] to the vehicle
AUX input jack.
Reconnect the USB port

Connect the RSE power
adapter harness [4] to the
RSE power harness [5].

Connect the RSE power
adapter harness [4] spade
connectors to vehicles power
outlet connector. Note
orientation and polarity.

Wrap the connection with
electrical tape.

Attach the RSE power
adapter harness box to the
vehicle carpet underneath the
center console box.

41 Secure wiring in center
console area.
Reassemble vehicle by
following steps 19 through 15
and 5 through 3 in reverse.
Vehicle post installation
check:
Check the following items (if
equipped):
Interior illumination (cup
holder)
Seat heater function (driver’s
and passenger’s)
AUX input function
PRNDL illumination
Console power outlet function
110V Outlet function
RSE unit function (driver’s
side and passenger side)

Connect RSE power adapter
harness [4] to center console
power outlet.
